I love the ad! It is very original, clever, and amusing. I also like the model! Enough so that I bought two of them! Keep up the excellent work, Sykshark.

I'll take one each 69" 109A and 69" 190D. That leaves only 499 each for someone else to buy.

RE: FW-190 experts - need gear help
I would guess the color to be khaki, similar to the tail wheel boot used on the bf109. See the NASM 109 tail wheel boot in a photo here: http://www.ipmsstockholm.org/magazine/1997/04/stuff_eng_detail_bf109g.htm

RE: FW-190 experts - need gear help
I think the very early versions of the 190A had molded rubber boots, but I have seen engineering drawings with sewn canvas boots for the early version as well. Not sure how long the boots were used, but the A-1 had them for certain.

RE: Pica Focke Wulf 190D
Here's my third Pica D-9. It has been in this unfinished condition for a few years. Might get around to completing it someday,.... OS .91FX, CJM retracts, no flaps, 8lb as shown. [image]http://www.rcuniverse.com/gallery/galleryimages/lg-6894.jpg[/image]

RE: Pica Focke Wulf 190D
This was my first Pica D-9. I had an ASP .75 in it. A terrible engine; it flamed out on take off and caused the model's demise. [image]http://www.rcuniverse.com/gallery/galleryimages/lg-6892.jpg[/image]

RE: Pica Focke Wulf 190D
I like the .90 two stroke for this model. It does require modifying the engine mounting beams to invert the engine. I have an OS .91FX in this model: [image]http://www.rcuniverse.com/gallery/galleryimages/lg-6891.jpg[/image]

RE: Looking for FULL kits of German birds
I have a Brian Taylor Bf110 kit I'd sell you, it has a 71" span. The kit is cut from the Taylor plans. I have the fiberglass cowls the canopy and plans for it. There is some info on the model at Bob Holman's web site: http://www.bhplans.com/bt3.htm Make me an offer.

RE: Skyshark ME109-E Build
I will also be watching this build with interest! I ordered the 109E, but changed my mind, and asked Mike to put my payment toward the 109G kit that is coming out later this summer. I am sure much of the construction will be the same. Do you have a paint sheme chosen yet? Engine?

RE: Which Dive bomber was the most effective during WWII?
Do you mean in just a dive bombing role, or in all roles the aircraft participated in? For instance, the Ju87 was used, very effectively, as a tank buster in Russia.

The book is a fantasy, it is full of half truths. Or, if you prefer, a work of fiction sprinkled with a smattering of facts.
ORIGINAL: ketil You should all read a book from Pierre Clostermann,it`s called the Big Show. Clostermann survived 420 flights over enemy airspace, and wrote a diary through the whole war. I read that book, it's a joke! [:'(]

RE: Jack devine Models/NWHT
I never received my kit that I ordered from NWHT, nor did I get refunded. After Jack took over, I asked if he was going to honor my order, and he said he was not obligated to do so. I don't think he is responsible to fullfill that order, but I am disappointed that he did not, or even try to work something out. Jack offered to sell me a kit for the old NWHT price ($250 vs $300), but I thought $500 (the $250 I originally paid + an additional $250) was too much to spend on an 80" standoff scale model. I have plenty of kits waiting to be built, so I am not looking for a kit in the range that he sells. Will I buy a kit from Jack in the future? I dunno, maybe.

RE: which airplane was definitive in winning WW2 over Europe?
The P-47 did it all, and did it better than anything other allied aircraft. Air superiority/bomber escort, fighter bomber, low alititude fighter sweeps, ground support. It was the king! Plus, it could take a licking, and keep on ticking. I also agree with much of what Mill wrote. The German's had some great aircraft designs and lost air superiority due to fighting at ratios of 20:1. After all, we and the Russians, took their technology and applied it to our aircraft desins, hense the Saber and Mig 15.

RE: FW190
Tom, The documentation came from books that I have: "Doras of the Galland Circus" by Eagle Editions, "JV44 The Galland Circus" by Robert Forsyth", and the Experten Decals JV44 book. The color chart is from Eagle Editions. Bearzilla, I agree that there are more color choices for the 190A, but the Dora has many outstanding color choices available. Especially so, if you appreciate the late war patch-work color schemes.
