RE: Do your own JR 8103 Lithium battery replace?
Does any one have any input? What kind of battery do these things take, I imagine some thing like a camera lithium battery.

RE: Do your own JR 8103 Lithium battery replace?
This topic really makes me angry. I have a Jr 652 that I have not used for 3 years and I think its battery is going to need replacing. I think its crap that these nice radios have to be serviced like this. If some one knows of a way to change it by ones self please share, because as far as I'm concerned Jr will not get another penny out of me. I'm going back to FUTABA!

JR 652 Memory Battery
I bought it brand new about 4 years ago, and have never used it except just cycling though its adjustments. Any how I heard some where that there is a separate internal battery (lithium I think) that protects it's memory when you unplug the main battery. This battery has a life expectancy of 5 years and and when it dies you have to send the Tx in to Horizon to have it replaced. Is this true? I have not even used it to fly any of my planes and in the next year or so I will have to send it in!?[&o]

Does any one run this engine? Is it any good? I would like to put it in a Sig Kavalier. I bought it and forgot that I had it, now it needs a home.

RE: Im afraid to fly...Im so ashamed!
P-3 orions shure do, 100' off the deck and all the salt spray. My favorite part of flying on airlines is when you look out the window and see the wing flex up and down.

RE: Off Subject! Any Military/ex-Military here?
Active duty Navy. I have been in for about 1.5 years. Im an Airframer currently on my shore duty at VP-30 (P-3 Orions) , NAS Jacksonville. Hey I have a question for all you Airforce guys why do your aircraft look so good. We are not allowed to paint or repaint aircraft on the basis of looks, only for protection from corrosion. Any other Navy P-3 ground pounders, aircrew, or Pilots out there it would be great to hear from you.[8D]
