RE: Why do people keep calling it TURBIN as in trashbin instead of BINE?

RE: KINGTECH X JETCAT X JETCENTRAL X WREN
Which turbine is like which radio, JR/Futaba/Multiplex etc. JetCat, Jet Central, Kingtech, Jet Munt, AMT etc are all now major players you buy what you want and what suits your pocket. All of them have plus & minus reasons to buy or not buy, I would be happy with any of them, I own a Jetcat but my next could either be a merlin 140, JC cheetah or K140, probably be as simple as who gives me the best deal when I place my order.

I think you need more thrust with an EDF that what it claims to produce. A gas turbine is still far superior when flying in a model to an EDF of the same thrust, so I don't think you can be over the top with a setup like this if you really want an EDF.

RE: JetCat P90 RXI
I would think there are very few airfames that you would have to fit a P100 over a P80 it would have to be a very narrow fuselage, also the weight saving is not that much, if people were that keen on saving weight, you would'nt see as many big batteries, powerboxes and other toys fitted that are not always needed. So from that point of view the P90 is by far a better buy than a P100, actually I would have a P80SE over a P100 any day and keep the extra £350 in my pocket.

You are a master laurie great shots That shot of Ali's M346 looks is class, if there was ever a picture to say why you must have a pilot in your model that is is. Imagine how bad it would have looked with an empty cockpit.

Anybody with a P20 would be spoiled for choice at HobbyKing there are loads of EDF's suitable, pity they would'nt just increase the size of a few to suit a P60 [:D]

Yes Tony that is one fear with HK but the Turnigy branded stuff seems to be fairly good, their budget 9ch 9X radio has been very successful.

New turnigy/hobbyking powerbox systems
Anyone seen these look great value, there are three in the range, love the idea of the receiver mounts in the middle to save space and keeps it all neat. Twin outputs on each channel (saves Y leads) and the two in the range also have a built in ign cut for petrol engines which could be used to switch on lights etc in other models. From what I read the top model (yellow one) has adjustable voltages on each channel which would be great for mixing different voltage servos. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__25189__Turnigy_Min_Power_Box_UBEC_Yellow_.html

RE: Thorpe F-20 build
Glad you got it flying after all your hard work. Only suggestion I could think of for the ailerons servos is to use two Hitec 5125 thin wing type servos, not going to be easy now to run cables. You could also try to support the inner cable more as it comes out of the wing & at the servo, or what about just changing the inners to like what are used on the sullivan cables rather than the bowden cable you are using.

I am a big fan of the 645 as well but do you not think the 5645 holds better for flaps, i.e. you can push back against a 645 (airflow) but difficult to do with a 5645 one reason why I would prefer them.

I think Wooden dowel is the way to go simple but adds a lot of strength, but I think he is looking to replace the alum with carbon to save weight. Jonboy2 It was probably in the main Falcon 120 thread you seen it [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_5913492/tm.htm]Falcon 120 thread[/link] Alasdair why only in the centre of the tube? would you not think it would create two potential bend points?

grab the formers and give them a wiggle and see if they snap out, if you can spread apart the boom sides and the captive nut blocks fall out then they must be using the same flour & water mix [:D]

RE: Jetlegend T-45 Hawk
Only on flap settings and normally only on full flap, I always start off at about 5mm, straight away you increase the washout so makes it more stable in slow turns. The amount of reflex depends on model and really needs to be increased gradually as it will also change your elevator trim, so you dont want to introduce a lot at once then be fighting the nose pictching up or down on finals. I also when setting up a new model have the crow braking/reflex on a switch so if I dont like it I can turn it off, once I am happy with the setting I deactivate the switch.
