RE: F9F Panther Scale Documentation?
Anyone come across a pic of the blue one with the yellow wings ? Also does anyone know which issue of scale aviation modeller those paint schemes came from.

I still have the turbine in bits, ready for assembly but I need to order another set of GRW bearings as I used the ones I got in another turbine ! Will detail the re assembly on here when I put it back together, not been any urgency as I still have my Boomerang to fly.

RE: Help me find a jet for this field
Which version of the Boomerang depends on budget a Intro or sprint with a P70 will operate out of the same strip as a XL with a 160

RE: Help me find a jet for this field
Standard Boomerang intro (sprint) with fixed gear and a wren 54 or P70 will safely fly in and out of there no problem, secret is weight, keep it under 15lbs and it will fly in and out of anywhere. A P80 version with retracts is heavier and lands a lot faster although still would be fairly good.

RE: Wren 44 Manual Start
ORIGINAL: Guillermo Ibanez Thanks again: I understand based on the manual that the manual starter should be run in burst until rpm rise up to 4k-5k, then stop the burst to the manual starter and open the gas. It shold lit. Once lit, rpm start to raise and at 10k and 100°C, turn on the manual starter until rpm rise to 30k. kero pump should be running and burning kero at this time. ECU display should read: accelertaion ramp, until it stabilize. Once stabilized, gas can be closed and glow pug igniter can be removed. Throttle stick should be now in control. Am I right or ir there something missing?
That sounds ok, try not to leave the gas on too long after it ignites on the fuel as you may still have some big flames. Normally on a semi or autostart setup the gas will turn off around 25-28K

RE: Wren 44 Manual Start
Try to get it to lite and run on the gas first before introducing the fuel, once you are happy the gas has lit and the temps are rising and everything looks ok, you can abort it and then start again with the fuel connected the next time. That way you dont introduce too many problems and have no un burnt fuel in the turbine until you are happy with the start sequence.

No I live in the North West of Ireland, but do know Bray well as I have friends there and did live there for 3years. Bray is a town in Co. Wicklow just south of the capital Dublin, a name would not come from Bray as such more the South East region but the family may lived there. What is your last name ? Seamus

RE: Boomerang Intro Instructions
Hi Dennis Bought one second hand myself with a wren 54 mk2 and would also like to get a copy of the instructions, just to have them, maybe Alan might be able to send a pdf now it is not being made anymore. Regarding the CG, I believe the origonal position was 150mm back from the leading edge (where wing meets fuselage) Later figures seen posted by Alan were 180mm back from LE or 270mm forward from the TE of the flap. Mine is about 10mm in front of the former behind the tank which would be 190mm from LE. I'd say it could even go back another 10mm. At 190mm it is still very stable will slow to a stop in 20mph wind and 10mph plus wind on the nose will come in that slow with the flap streight down that you could walk out and grab it out of the air ! Amazing machine should have bought one along time ago, will fly out of any field. I am sticking with the fixed gear for practicality. I recovered mine as well to look like the XL version.

Be sure and fut a fuel filter between your probe and the tank if you use a method like that.

RE: FEJ Where We're Goin' Tomorrow
Yes, I think the exact same when I look at a Extra or extremly horrible Edge 540. A guy at our club cant see the appeal of what he calls old fashioned war planes [:@]. (he is talking about spitfires, P51's etc, yes I know ban him from the club!) Everyone to thier own but if you want to produce something different than everyone else, then an airliner or even a military transporter like a C17 would definatly be different, Just about every company making jets now make a F15, Hawk etc, nice to see one interested in change.

RE: FEJ Where We're Goin' Tomorrow
Really think an airliner would be the buisness, the big ones at the shows always turn heads, dont need to be big though the old PCM models L-1011 (tristar) kit at 85" would fly well on a single 15lb turbine. Airliners only need about 45% power to weight so you can have an impressive model without needing two P120's. The super chipmunk is a beautiful aeroplane and anyone who owned a Goldberg one will tell you it is really superb to fly, one to suit a 45cc petrol would be the buisness. Great planes used to do a 1/3 scale Christen Eagle but dos'nt seem to be available now. maybe something bigger to take a 100cc twin.

RE: FEJ Where We're Goin' Tomorrow
What about some airliners or execitive jets, you cannot get a ARTF airliner anywhere, something that will take a single turbine in the tail, or take two on the wings like the tri-star or 727. There are loads of interesting commercial jets that no one is supplying, everyone is doing military stuff. Please no more Yaks or Extras there are just to many, better to look at older aerobatic stuff like Christen Eagles or big Super Chipmunks something with character.

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet
Very nice, you will need a pressure switch, one method would be to use another retract cylinder and when the pressure builds up it will push out the piston rod and knock off a micro switch

RE: JetJoe OWNERS thread
ORIGINAL: gab_arm75 who can tell me why jj1400 have white smoke and kerosine from glow plug on idle rpms? and very long start time? pump start point is +1, ramp+2. if i increase it, i have flame out..
Try increasing the pump start ramp rather than the point, there are also values in the back screens that effect this as well. What ecu are you using ? I posted my 1400 settings for the Gasper AU-540 ecu here http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=9044468 I used my settings on another 1400 and it got the turbine working fine, only needed a few tweaks then to fine tune, so it is a good starting point. Write all your settings down first and only adjust small amounts at a time

RE: JetJoe OWNERS thread
If you have a problem with the compressor pressure then it must be due to the front cover clearance as there wont be anything wrong with the compressor itself. Is the combustion chamber not the exact same as the JJ1400 ? I though the only differences were the compessor and front cover.

RE: JetJoe OWNERS thread
Errating readings are nearlly always due to rpm wires too close to plug wires, do as Fw190pilot said and seperate them and twist glow wires together. Once you have done this try to get the turbine fired up first with just the gas, before you introduce fuel, other secret is very little gas needed for start.
