RE: Backdraft 8e shocks question
I have SCT's in 2WD, 4WD and Rock Crawlers, looking at all the differant spring rates, oil weights, big bores, internal springs, droop set up, it all seems like smoke an mirrors to me. There are so many setups it is very hard to determine what is right for your rig, style of driving and your setup. All I can say is good luck, let me know what you finaly go with. Smitty

RE: Redcat Rockslide RS10 XT
I run a 1300 mAh 2s lipo in my XT10 with no problems, you will need a cutoff or a buzzer for low voltage warning.

RE: Adjusting diffs
Do NOT lock the front or rear ! It is uncontolable if front or rear is locked, atleast mine was (lol). Lock the center diff and put "thick" oil in front and rear and it will handle tons better !

RE: aftershock 8e bodies
I used a Votex 1/10 body on my EQ 8E transformed into a SCT 8E. I had to trim it some, but I like the look. RE: spurr gear problem on caldera 3.0
I used to think like bkbajan, steel must be better. But when I switched my spur gear from plastic to steel, (EQ8E) it strippede my brass pinion gear. I switched back to a plastic spur gear and all is good. (so far) Smitty

RE: Chainging a EQ 8E into a AS 8E
TY Formula87 ! I set it up with just a "tic" of play and it seems to be perfect. I went back to the stock spur and pinion gears. Next question, I plan to go play in the sand some more, how do I protect my eletronics yet allow it to "breath" ? Pantyhose ? TIA ! Smitty

RE: Chainging a EQ 8E into a AS 8E
OK, just got to run my SCT 8E (former EQ 8E) at the coast(sand). Ran it around for 5 to 10 minutes, a couple small jumps, a couple high speed passes. Brass motor gear strips out on me. Mesh too tight / too loose ? Sand ? Oh yea, I am now running a steel spur gear. This was the 15t brass motor gear. Any armchair qb'ing here ? heeelp... lol Smitty

RE: Caldera SC 10e
This is what I did with a votex body when I changed my EQ 8E into a SCT 8E. I trimmed it a bit, tires stick out a bit, but I like the look. RE: Chainging a EQ 8E into a AS 8E
Exactly Edge, it is much more controlable and is just as fast as before. I like it alot ! I am going to experiment with shocks and tires now. I got to find a dirt track and see how it handles in the dirt. Dose good on grass and concreet.

Hey MOmo, I live in Vancouver WA, where is your store? I order online now, a local dealer would be nice. I just converted my EQ8E into a SCT8E and I like it alot more now. I switched to 17mm right after I got my EQ8E and never looked back ! Thanks Smitty

RE: Chainging a EQ 8E into a AS 8E
OK, My EQ8E is now a SCT8E. Much more controlable, the Vortex body fit just right. Tires stick out just alittle but I like the look. Front and Rear bumpers accualy protect the body by being outside the body. I added a spare tire for looks. I am enjoying this SCT much more then the Monster truck. On to the pics. RE: Vortex Body
TY ! Reason I was asking is I don't like the way the front and rear bumpers sit inside the body shell of an aftershock body. I want the front and rear bumpers to sit outside the body shell for protection and looks. Thanks again. Can you sugest any SCT bodies that will allow the front and rear bumpers to remain outside the body shell for an 8E chassis ? Smitty
