Painting is the way to go, just scuff up the covering slightly for a better bond!

RE: Top Flite P-47D Thunderbolt ARF .60-.91: Building & Mods
A question I have is I obtained a set of the TF retracts and put them in a Gold Edition build from years ago. I mounted the wire struts and locked them down on the flats already ground on the wires. It seems to have so much toe in that I can hardly push the model forward!!It also starts to put side pressure on it. Has anyone else had this problem or Am I doing something wrong?? The retract looks like the same set up as the ARF. Any help would be great Mike

Anyone use the Hobby King electric servoless retracts for models up to 4.7 kgms? I have a 60 size P-47 and need an 85*retract and this seems like a good choice. Thanks

Starmax warbirds
Anyone have any thoughts on this inexpensive 1/7th scale lineup? I was considering getting one as for 240.00, it seems like a decent deal... Saw a few you tube vids looking promising. Any insight ??

RE: Vacuum form problem
maybe try less sag and let the mold push the last bit of plastic to elimiinate the air pocket? and yes a 320 grit or less on the mold allows the vacuum to pull better just a thought

RE: Vacuum form problem
Maybe the plastic is sagging to much when you put the mold to is creating an air pocket. I have done in home forming and found it was best to let the plastic be pushed a little further by the mold and letting my shop vacuum pull the restaround. I was pulling the plastic down on the mold and not inverted as you are doing.

RE: 1/6 Scale F4U Corsair Group Build
When I was a young lad, I visited #74 as it sat at Walter Soplatta's back yard @ 73'. It was a sight then as it was in still in decent shape. So to see it restored is beyond imagination! Not to mention the Xp-82 he had which is now being restored. As I hear, he had the other Corsair Lucky Gallon in the basement of his house as Bob had mentioned to us when he went to meet Walter years ago
