RE: RC Tanks as collectibles
I wouldn't hold my breath for any of these to become collectible. They are mass produced in quantities, that if they ever started going up in value, enough of them would surface to drive down the price. i.e COX slot cats from the 60s. These become a hot item on ebay. Guys were paying $600. Once people discovered they could get $600 for their old cox slot car thousands of them started showing up, the shine was gone, and they fell in price. Same thing would happen with these tanks. What keeps the Bandai price up is that they never made many, and there just aren't any around.

RE: Henglong new 1/16 leopard2 is released!!!
I'll wait until Mato has them in stock. There probably is an IR version. Just not available yet. I am a little concerned seeing all these integrated 2.4 ghz electronic systems forcing you to use the factory radio, which will be useless if you want to do any serious IR RC battling. Instead you will have to rip it out throw in the bin and buy new electronics. Very frustrating as it would cost Heng Long very little more to do IR correctly.

Color T-34 in action
This is wartime footage, and some of the scenes are unpleasant, but the quality I have not seen before in a wartime video. Almost to the point of making me wonder if it is real. [link=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTbCLYFF2eg]T-34s in action[/link]

RE: Odd Shermans
I agree. You can see clearly they stretched the overhang out the back by quite some distance, and running the exhaust180 degrees would not be that big of a deal on this engine. So the idea and picture might be real, but at the end of the day you still have a under armored tank which is the more serious problem then the powertrain.

RE: Odd Shermans
That is similar to the Canadian Kangaroo. They were used as an armored troop transport allowing the infantry to keep up with the advancing tanks, so they could deal with those pesky German panzerfaust. .

Show us your Sherman
With the release of the HL Sherman combined with the previously released Tamiya and Mato, I imagine there are more then a few Shermans kicking around out there. Franks recent Sherman build, started bringing Shermans out of the closet, so I thought why not have another thread about the current state of Shermans in the hobby. Show us what you got or what you are working on Here is a Hybrid Firefly, M4A1 73 mm ,M4A3 Firefly and a HVSS.
ORIGINAL: B.A.D.A.S.S.Force Sorry to interrupt this thread, as I don't own a Sherman ... yet ... but this is a great idea Dan, & something I would like to see not only for the Shermans, but for all the different tanks members might have in their inventory! I know the forum has a Tank Photo Gallery already, plenty of build threads with photos, & I'm not sure how many existing threads are already posted & similar to this one for other tanks, but this sounds like it would be a nice series of threads that could be started, all with basically the same starting title ... ''Show us your'', followed by the different model tank. Show us your Panther G Show us your KV-1 Show us your Panzer IV Show us your ................ Not sure if many other members would agree, but I like the idea myself ... just say'n ...  <img src=''http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/msn/50_50.gif'' alt='''' /> ~ Craig ~
I used to try hosting a SNFF (Sunday Nite Foto Fun), but it never seemed to sustain itself. Perhaps a Sunday night, Show us your "whatever tank" might be something worth trying. Gives everyone a reason to log on and see some new inspiring pictures. This call to post has produced some fantastic Shermans. Thanks to everyone for posting

RE: Another Sherman build
IT would be good to have 8 Sherman's against 3 KT to simulate a more reasonable battle. With all the new blood and Shermans in this hobby, we may be able to move away from the traditional 4 on 4 battles where heavies seem to dominate. IF there is a critical mass of Shermans( everyone needs to have at least one[:D]) we can attempt to duplicate the overwhelming strength in numbers the Allies had. Turn down the emitters on the Shermans so they can only score hits from 10 meters away and unleash 8 on 3 German heavies. Back to the Topic. You have again built a great looking Sherman, and I share your passion for the dumpy little guy.

Again, that looks great. Don't see too many Shermans with the camo paint. I think it was only the one Canadian Division in Italy painted like that.
ORIGINAL: strmnd54 I thinf that Dan's diagram has pin 3 and pin 4 inverted for connector cn9...Compare with other wiring diagrams...
You might be right about that. Good thing is all this will do is have the gun fire on down stick movement and the cannon elevate on upward stick movement.

RE: They say it is available now...
I have already had someone approach me for a sound system for this, he had one ordered but was waiting on delivery. It is going to be a moving target for tank battles. With target trucks like this the game play could be one teams mission is to escort them to a location, and the other teams mission is to destroy them. They look very nice.

That's easy enough. I wish El Mod would pass along something like this as well. How many LED's could the Flasher circuit handle?

RE: HL stug ready for battle!
Also be cautious when adding LEDs to the circuit. You could overload the transistor supplying the power to the LEDs. I would not recommend this. However you can use your finger as an indicator. IF the transistor driving the LED( Q1 or Q3 can't remember which one) heats up to the point you can't touch it, then your probably will have a failure in time.

RE: HL stug ready for battle!
If you can send me a picture of how you have the wires hooked up. Couple of things Make sure you have power feeding the sound card Mke sure you have the sound putput wire spliced into the RX 18 volume control. Are you sure the cannon sound you are hearing is from the board and not the RX 18 cannon sound.? Perhaps the sound card is not powered up for some reason and all you are hearing is the stock RX18 cannon? On the sound card you have K1, K2, K3, K4, so it is not exactly as pictured on the website. K1 is the Cannon K2, is for a light tank K3,is for a medium K4 will be a heavy. [image]http://battlearmorrc.weebly.com/uploads/7/0/1/7/7017807/8002665_orig.jpg[/image] If you are not having any luck try moving the hookups labeled "K" around. If the cannon sound is being triggered, then if this switched to one of the other "K" terminals it should play the hit sound everything you fire the cannon to check the board outputs.

That is a pre-order. They are on there way here too. Keep checking the Mato website, as it will be more cost effective to get it directly from Mato. Cheers
