RE: jerrys big boy by morris hobbies
Mamba, Lots of good suggestions being passed to you in response to your flutter question. If I may share my 2 cents worth on the topic, flutter is being caused by airflow passing between the leading edge of the aileron and the trailing edge of the wing. Most often I find the source is the aileron was installed with too much gap between the wing and the aileron. Air is passing through that gap resulting in the flutter. What should you do? Here are two suggestions; 1) Remove the aileron and reinstall with little to no gap 2) If the installation is already completed with little to no gap, then iron on, or use tape to seal the gap but make sure you still allow for the proper range of defelction of the aileron after you seal the gap The last thing I could think of is on my JBB I had a G-26 with a 17 x 6wide or a 17 x 4wide prop and loved it! The JBB is not a speed plane but a very nice 'n' stable aerobatic performer that does not need speed to maneuver. The only time I needed to use more than 2/3 throtle was to hover or pull out of a hover. Hope this helps you. Please be sure to post what the culprit is so we can all learn/know what your answer is to the question. I'm still looking for another JBB. Just a fuse if possible, or complete ARF if available kit would be just fine too. Hit me up if you know where one is! Ciao!

RE: Marking a ParkZone Vapor
Ferndale AF, I think you came across a good idea. Thank you for sharing! I was in a grocery store today and saw several Mylar ballon color patterns that would be interesting for me to put on my vapor. I got to thinking, you said you sprayed 3m 77 spray for the adhesive, what did you to to hold the mylar in place while it dryied/setup? I am going to give it a try but wanted to see if I could gleem your technique. Thanks!

I had one with a Zenoah G-26 using a 17x6 APC, man that was the shine! 3D, no problem! Unlimited virtical T/Os, watch my trail! I had for 2.5 years before I tried to hover a little to low and lost it! Doh!. Anybody have any information where to get one?

Zsultan, I agree with bobby, its a great 1st EDF to fly! I have had several but this one does a good job. I have one of these for about a year now, I have not been able to stall it yet, even with full elevator, it just keeps flying! A marvalous kit to enjoy! Have fun!

Bobby, Just viewd Tailslides video you talked about. Wow! how in the heck can a person keep up with something moving that fast! Amazing! I wish he took a moment and taped the airframe. I think he has a very interesting paint scheme.

RE: Phase 3 EF - 16
Next time maybe try converting to the AVI option. Once you select your INPUT FILE and your OUTPUT FILE NAME go to EDIT PROFILE and try these settings; Video: MPEG4 (VivX.XviD), 768kbps; Audio: MP3, 96kps. These are pretty much a standard size for AVI files to go on Youtube. I hope it helps your upload speed. It does for me.

RE: Phase 3 EF - 16
Have you considered coverting the file to a downsized version of an .AVI file that is not so big? I use AVS4YOU and there is a specific conversion to make videos files for Youtube. It is the best video tool I have every used and very user friendly. I believe they let you d/l it and there used to be a 10 free trail to see if you liked it or not. I still enjoyed the video. I passed it along to one my flying buddies who bought one recently. I think he and I maybe on a race to see who can 'hop it' the fastest!

RE: Phase 3 EF - 16
Bobby, Thanks for the pic posting. I like what you did on your mods. Mind if I copy a few of them on my rebuild? Looking forward to your video. Too bad about your battery. I have had that happen to me several times too. I too balance the cells passively after cooling down and before charging, balance during charge & passive balance again after charge just to make sure and it still happend to me too. Must be the batter gremlins or something. Cheers!

RE: Phase 3 EF - 16
I agree with your mod on the tailerons. That is what caused my first accident. The foam gave way to a high speed pass while performing a vertical split S. Was only running stock with a 2,000Mah 3 cell. Your right, for the price it is well worth the reward!

Bobby, Nice! You should post some pictures and a video if possible. Love to see your completed project. I have to order a new airframe. Made a repair to the right elevon and it broke off again durning a high speed pass reducing it to pieces. All my equipment survived. Have to find a new body. HP is still on back order. Happy New Year!

RE: Anybody heard of Super Easy Fly Helicopter?
Hey, I have several Coaxle helis. I found the 'Super Easy Fly' on EBay a few years ago. It came stock with all CNC Head, shaft drive tail & fiberglass body frame. It's basically a knock off of the TRex 250 using a 370bl motor setup. The only name/brand on the box and documents is 'Super Easy Fly'. I was hoping someone may have one they built and good share a few notes/pictures. I finished building it last night after the Santa Check List was complete. Now I am organizing the wiring & receiver, then will balance a set of blades and give her a go. Thanks for your input and Merry Christmas!

Anybody heard of Super Easy Fly Helicopter?
I have one the kits and have started building. The manual is not in the least bit helpful and wanted to how someone else tackled certain areas. Much appreciated if you know of a link to try! Merry Christmas!

RE: Marking a ParkZone Vapor
bullseye000, Sounds interesting. Let me know how it turns out and perhaps I'll follow suite. I ran across some 250mah batteries on Ebay. Makes the Vapor a tad nose heavy but I can fly on one battery for close to 30 minutes!

RE: blade msr
Also make a note of how far your battery is in the seat. If you have the battery too far back your CG maybe too great on the aft side to fly forward. If that is not the problem, then, If your using the low/easy ball link, try moving up to the advanced ball links. Your manual has step by step instructions how to do it. In fact, I did my yesterday after flying for a month on the beginner settings and was getting pretty uptight when I tried to change directions while flying forward. Wahzoo! It was GREAT! The advanced settings are really not that sensitive and did a GREAT job improving manuverablity and control during flight. For me it caused my crashing problem to go away and flying was fun! Let us know how you made out or if you need anything else. Blade did a great job with the MSR!

RE: Marking a ParkZone Vapor
bzinfinity, How did it work out? With the projector plastic and printing? How did you apply the CA to hold the covering? I have had my Vapor for about two years and the covering is not holding up and letting go. For now I am using little pieces of scotch tape for now, flies good but looks like crap.

RE: Seagull's
Well, I knew enough not to turn into the opposite side of the engine out. Had a previous dual engine ugly stick. She flew fine as long as I kept the air speed up.

RE: Seagull's
I have a pair of TT Pro 46s w/Mac's Tuned pipes, using 10x8 props. Talking about knee knocking speeds! Whoa! Did I mention retracts too? I have about 12 flights on mine so far. One flight my port side engine went out. It took a slow fly by to confirm it with some rudder input. Other than that she flew great and landed with no problems. My regular club field is very small surrouded by pine trees (plane eaters). I like to fly my DA at a bigger field like Mac Hodges in Andersonvill GA. Lots of blue sky at his field with very few plane eaters.

RE: Saito 100 as powerful as a Saito 125?
Lot of good information shared in this thread. I am now thinking of trying the Zinger 17x5 for the next gallon of fuel and see if it 'perks up' at all. If not, I maybe installing my Saito 150 on my Yak and see if I can get the warm fuzzy punch out I am looking for.

RE: Saito 100 as powerful as a Saito 125?
Been reading through this thread after my test flight of a CG Yak 54 using Saito FA-125 swinging an APC 16x6 using 15% Nitro. Like the others I have read, punch out power was lacking. While I am finishing up the break in period (appox 1+ gallon) I am disappointed with the puch out capabilty from hoover. My thought was prop selection. I was thinking of tring a 17x4 to see if that would improve the punch out. But reading that moving to a wood prop will help in the punch out/get me out of trouble? I would like to hear any suggestions of found facts that could help. I really like this airframe and plan on flying for a long time. Start throwing the information, I'm ready to read! Thanks in advance!
