RE: Auto subscription?
Yes, I do. I've been getting those Emails since last december. I raised two tickets on RCU support with no effet.

RE: L39/Wren 44 Pics and video
Hi Ian, it's been a while... No I don't make them anymore, but I can check if I can find some spare lying around. I used them on both my Savex L39 and Savex F16. Both of them are still flying strong. Yann

Hi Hal, I might still have a set hiding somewhere. Those are my own design (page 107, 109 and 110 of this thread). Let me know if you're interested. Yann

Thanks, I've been eyeing on this plane for quite some time, and I may jump into it when the new airframe becomes available. I'm not a big fan of EDF, so it will be turbine powered for sure. Yann

I would never dare to fly mine with the stock pipe. I changed it for a wren pipe. Plane is 3 years old now. Flies rock solid.

RE: FEJ L39 1/7TH
No, I'm not going. Flying on the french riviere is not bad either... I don't know how much flap deflection you can get, as it seems the original setup has improved a lot. I would still consider doing so, no matter how it looks, it works just wonderfully. The plane comes in much slower. No matter how long your runaway is, the faster the plane at touch down, the more energy the gear/tires have to dissipate. Furthemore, the slower you can bring your plane in, the less likely you are to damage it... Of course, it's up to you, but keep in mind this mod is really easy/quick to do. Good luck anyway, and keep us posted.

RE: FEJ L39 1/7TH
As to your question, I have no spares. I'll have to run to the small spring factory to have them cutom made for you from my set. I'll do that only if bad news from FEJ about their own springs.

RE: FEJ L39 1/7TH
Nice... They seem to have improved a lot. support beams for retracts, balsa/carbon sandwich formers, overall extensive use of carbon fiber... Mine was far from that when I opened the box. Hope you also bought the now available kevlartank option. Mine split open twice right on the seam line... no was to fix that up. All solved with a kevlar tank. I'm sure it was no more pain for FEJ to make it right strait. doing it all over has been a really painful for me.

RE: FEJ L39 1/7TH
OK, so you're good with the formers. Yes, I might be able to provide you with a set of spring the stock springs are way too weak. FEJ, at the time I asked, was not able to provide different stiffness of springs. The flap mod is very important too. It lets you come in much slower. A friend of mine had the same plane without the mods. He was coming in mch faster.

Also main retract bay has been heavily reinforced with carbon fiber after the first fight (after the pics were taken). The stock wood is far from perfect and cannot be removed.

RE: FEJ L39 1/7TH
Oh god !!! that was the question I didn't want you to ask... On the fuse: Changed the rudder setup. Changed the thrust pipe for a wren pipe. Removed (easily) most of the formers, to change them. plywood was not up to my standards. Changed the turbine beams to suit the small footprint of my wren. Wings: Custom made new springs for oleos (absolutely necessary) Changed O-ring brakes for regular rim brakes. I could not brake evenly with stock ones. Changed most of the servo pockets as some of those parts were missing from my kit. So I dit it all over, my way. Modified flaps setup as well, to allow more deflection. Modified main gear doors my own way. Still don't understand how FEJ wanted me to do it. That's it for the most important parts. There is more, but that was more on the cosmetic side...

at 28lbs, your plane is on the heavy side for sure. It should fly OK, but watch your airspeed.

Mine is first generation (over two years old). The plane is 10.5kg with full tanks. Engine is wren supersport. Flies great, glides well at that weight. After all the mods I made, it's a really good plane. Yann
