Wife is good, thanks for asking. Still not 100% but close. I got the signs from work as railroading is pretty much my life aside from my family. Hope things are better for you. As for the F1, it sits on a shelf and gets looked at:(

RE: Me buying a FG formula 1 or FG MT
It's listed as 1/5 scale, but I've heard it referred to as 1/4 scale. Mine is the comp version which is all machined alloy as the sportsline looks to be stamped pieces, probably not much difference as far as parking lot racing goes though. Heres some more pics. RE: Me buying a FG formula 1 or FG MT
I have buggies and a F1, it all depends on what you want as they are completely different animals. The off roads can be driven anywhere as the f1 requires a quite large open smooth area to have fun with. As for the belts, the entire drive train on the f1 can be upgraded to gear drive. This pic is the best I have that shows the true size of it, I can get you pics of the gear drive if you want.

RE: MECATHEK HYDROLIC BRAKE questions?
ORIGINAL: dc2 man your the guy with the f1 arnt you? run it lately, its nice...
Yea, I have the yellow comp F1, it sits on a shelf and gets drooled on, afraid to drive it. To the OP, most of that weight on the rear gets transfered to the front during braking, your not locking them with the cable brakes up front simply because your servo is not strong enough. I would put the hydros on the front and adjust the bias as well as end point of the fronts until they just lock up with warm tires and then back them off a little. Mine will not slide the tires until the car is nearly stopped and the weight begins to settle (the slower the car is moving, the less weight there is being transfered to the front). I do still slide the tires when at full steer and full braking but that is just something that has to be corrected with driving habit. I find if I anticipate my turns and brake before turning things go much smoother and predictable.

RE: MECATHEK HYDROLIC BRAKE questions?
If I could only have hydros on one end it would be the front. Most of your stopping power comes from the front wheels as the weight shifts during braking, ie, the front gets heavier and the rear gets lighter.
ORIGINAL: niko64 same thing happened to me,one of the last things was the throttle linkage.i used a cutoff wheel on the buggy, just carefully whizzed it off.got my ss diff today, took old one out,saw something about missing bearing.the hpi instructions show a bearing where the king one shows just a seal.theres a little tab in where the bearing would be,would have to be removed.dont think a bearing is supposed to be there in the king.what should i do?
The missing bearing goes towards the outside of the gearbox where the input shaft comes into it. Mine had no tab which would not allow a bearing to go in, I had to take the seal out and the bearing drops right into the gearbox on the right side if viewing from the rear where the input shaft goes.
ORIGINAL: niko64 gonna install the ss diff.does the rear chassis have to unbolt?
The exhaust has to come off, roll cage loosened, gearbox upper plate, one rear hub removed so one axle can come out, spur gear/rear brake plate. It's not hard, just take a little time and start removing things that are in the way. The HPI manual is a good reference. Takes maybe a half hour.
ORIGINAL: TheMightyImp2
ORIGINAL: TheMightyImp2 Hi there.. I don't know if any of you are musically minded, but lets say my engine idle speed has a note of 'C'. At full revs, the note used to reach a high 'C' At the moment, the engine only revs up to a 'D' or an 'E' at best. I have adjusted the needles for high and low end, and i have toyed with the idle screw, but still, the highest rev is very low. I've made sure the brakes are not binding. It's nothing to do with the differential.. It can't be the clutch, as surely the engine would rev high, but the car would run slowly as the clutch slips... The compression seems okay. But i find if i take out the spark plug and pull the pull starter, there is almost no fuel getting into the cylinder.. What can be wrong? Could it be a faulty or split carburettor diaphram or something? Help o wise ones!!
Anyone got any ideas what may have gone in the engine?????? Please!!!
How many tanks of fuel do you have through it? The exhaust might be plugged with carbon.

Replacement master cylinder
My front master cylinder (magura v1) is leaking and I am tired of trying to source seals to fix it. Can someone recommend a replacement master cylinder that can be bought in the USA that I wont have to bleed every time the car sits for a week or so? Is Magura v2 the way to go or is there something out there that works better. I dont want to spend a ton but want reliable brakes before I wad up this expensive car. Thanks in advance. Links to where I can source whatever you recommend would be appreciated. I would even consider a used master cylinder of a better design if someone knew where to source one. Thanks again.
ORIGINAL: ridersstore  this is probably a dumb question , but what does the fail safe in the km baja do ,and how do you test it?[:)] i have the 29cc version that danic4 sells.. i love it so far[:D]
The failsafe places the servos in a preset position (programmed by you) if the signal from the radio is lost. To test, WITH THE ENGINE OFF, hold the throttle wide open and shut off your transmitter, the servos should go to your preset position, usually full braking.
ORIGINAL: TheMightyImp2 Any one?
Where are your needles set at? I would return them to factory and try it, also, mine did the same thing you are describing as far as running slower the longer it was ran.... the rear brake was a tad too tight and as it heated up it would expand and drag the car down. The more I ran it the worse it got until I noticed the rear brake dragging. Also make sure your carb and exhaust bolts are tight as these can wreak havoc on tuning.

RE: FG F1 FORMULA CAR EXHAUST CARBON BUILD UP ON CHASSIS
I just read your first post again, your tuned pipe is pointed in the right direction isnt it? mine points straight down through a hole in the chassis and I have no problems. Too much oil in your gas or an overly rich mixture could also lead to excessive carbon. As far as the alignment I do not know the specs. My camber is nearly flat. o toe in the front and just a degree or so in the rear. Also check to be sure you dont have a tight bearing on one wheel or a brake hanging up causing one wheel to drag.

RE: FG F1 FORMULA CAR EXHAUST CARBON BUILD UP ON CHASSIS
Yes you can extend the outlet with silicone exhaust tubing, as far as spinning out, I would look at your alignment as spinouts usually happen at slower speeds when applying power as opposed to higher speeds which leads me to believe that you have alignment issues.

RE: toe in toe/angles of wheels
Depends on whether its for on or off road. For offroad I like toe in on the front and rear, for onroad i like no toe in or out on the front (to reduce oversteer) and a few degrees in on the rear for stability. The more you toe either end in the more traction you will have on that end of the car, too much on the front for onroad will make it spin out fairly easy which is why I keep it pretty neutral.
