RE: Any Bronies out there?
Wow thats really good. The only problem with mine is that It would be basically that level of detail, and with that great detail comes great expenses. I wasnt planning on spending $80 for a shell for a nitro buggy (thats only for bashing) or a mini T. I already bought one sticker that is 2 1/2 by 2 inches for $1.50 including shipping. Not bad really since its custom.

RE: 1/8 rockslide issues
Wow thats kinda bad to hear. 6 problems in 3 weeks. You would hope that for $300 they could pump out a rock crawler (that isnt a state of the art performance vehicle) that could go a few runs without destroying itself. I only bought one Redcat car (because I didnt know any better) but I never will again. Ive had my own share of problems that shouldnt have been. Which is now why my Tornado S30 is a combination of Redcat, Losi, Traxxas, Arrma, Proline, and J-concepts parts. [:D]

That sounds pretty sick actually. But yeah like you said, Its hard to see. I usually always use Neon paint. Especially since the biggest electric I have is a 1/18th Mini T.

Yeah sometimes videos dont do it. But in comparison, I would stare right at the Slender Man game knowing what to expect. Meanwhile with the Containment Breach videos I spent more than half the time with my hand over the screen in an effort to "deflect" any Nightmare Fuel like a boss. [8D]

Any Bronies out there?
Incase someone doesnt know what a 'Brony" is its a person thats a fan of the TV show "My Little Pony, Friendship is Magic". I was wondering if there was anyone else out there that is one and is into R/C vehicles. Ive got a blade mQX with a Rainbow Dash canopy. Ive also got a nitro buggy and 3 electric cars. Im slowly thinking of ways to make pony themed bodies for my cars. I was most likely just going to do a simple paint scheme and alot of stickers. The mQX will be appearing at a few Cons (Bronycon for sure because its the closest to me). It was even featured on Equestria Daily: http://www.equestriadaily.com/2012/09/nightly-roundup-427.html I was also wondering if anyone else had pony-themed vehicles. Ive heard of a spy tank with applejack on it but havent seen it yet. Post pics of your pony vehicles too. /)

RE: Anyone played Slender Man
I didnt fell like it cause I saw the videos for it and it just didnt seem to be scary to me. Its simple. Just dont look at him for to long and you win.(Besides getting the 8 pages.) SCP Containment Breach is much harder and scarier.

RE: Lame hobby?
I see. I dont go around to people and demand help or be rude or anything (Im really kinda shy actually). The trainer I bought is a Firebird Stratos. It has the Tri-Gear but I dont know how to size it. so Ill just leave the dimmensions and various other info here: Wingspan: 42.0 inches Overall Length: 30.0 Inches Flying weight: 17.0 oz Experience Level: Beginner Plane Type: Trainers I sorta just gave up with the idea of ever flying one EVER after I had 2 severe crashs from less than 20ft off the ground. The first time the nose broke off, then the second time the fuselage cracked in half more than halfway down the plane. Another time it crashed and one motor started smoking like crazy. Thats when I glued it back together and now it sits at the bottom of my bed, unused since May 25th. (Bought it May 20th). So now because of that one thing Im afraid and bitter of the R/C Plane hobby. I will most likely never touch a plane again. Unless its something indoor for $50 or something. But to be honest, I envy the people who can fly these things cause its surely an awesome skill. Nice job for flying that long. I chose cars and Quadrocopters/Helicopters cause they are simple, easy, and almost no learning curve. (Who has never driven an rc car?) Im also (like I stated before) a 17 year old. I go to coneventions periodically and film them with my cars or mQX, and sport the appropriate body or canopy for the Con. Cant fly a plane in the New Jersey Meadolands Expo center. [:)]

RE: Help!! With Avalanche XTE
Yeah what dad said. But when your adjusting the throttle trim the car has to be on so you can see what its doing. I suggest putting the car on something so the wheels arent touching the ground. Like sitting it on a box but so the wheels hang freely. Since it IS a Brushless and you do this, it might get really loud and the tires might even balloon but just stick with it and try to adjust the throttle. If that doesnt work I would turn it off and come back here and tell us what happened when you tried trimming the throttle. Dont forget to turn on the radio/Transmitter also. These cars arent like the Toy grade ones where you just turn the car on and everything works. Takes alot of maintenance and cash.

RE: First Nitro on its way
I think you got everything you need to get it running. I dont have a T-maxx but you might need some BLUE (not red!) Loctite for the motor mount screws after you adjust the gear mesh. (Good call on extra glow plugs too.) Tool wise you dont need anything special besides something you can get out of a Craftsman set (Phillips head and Flat head screwdrivers, wratchets.) or the truck will come with anything it might need. Now the only thing really left is you knowing how to start it. [:D]

RE: Lame hobby?
I agree that it isnt as popular, but with a certain % of the population.(Since most of the time when I see people flying planes they are snotty old men with grey hair. Not everyone is old but a large % is. Im only 17 and fly helicopters.) Also a lot of people dont have the patience or skill to do it. What person with a job and/or school wants to go buy a $400 plane and then find some airfield with snotty old men and try to ask them to teach you how to fly it? I sure dont. I spent $150 on a brand new trainer and couldnt fly it and there is no airfiled to find anyone to teach me how to fly it within 2 hours. What a waste honestly. I bough a Blade mQX recently and within 5 flights i was a champion at it. I could fly it without even seeing it most of the time, or in 10mph+ winds! Still cant fly a TRAINER plane though. Its an aggravating hobby to say the least if you dont know what your doing cause it feels like you need a pilots license to man the stupid thing.

RE: Which is best for a 15 month old and four year old?
A four year old and 15 month old? I feel like thats a little young for hobby grade R/C's. Simply because children (especially a 1 year old) dont understand that these things are dangerous at high speeds, expensive, and not totally indestructable. Unless your there to watch them with it and take care of it yourself you WILL be sorry. Simple as that. Plus, why bother paying all that money for a Brushless to have it go 10mph or less for years? Pointless. (I also sort of question your overall knowledge based on your amount of posts and even suggesting something like this) Especially with crazy machines like a Brushless revo. Then you have to teach them how to charge the LiPo's and what NOT to do with them. You should instead get a car for yourself that you like, and let them use it untill they are older and you get them another one. (Because there are also the odds they will lose interest anyway. They are just kids.) The other option is to just go to Toys R Us and get a toy grade one for now. Much more cost effective and they wont know the difference because it will be the same speed.

RE: How many gallons of nitro do you burn in a season ?
I only Bash my buggy. Since christmas ive only burned half a gallon. I use it kinda often but I think its really good on burning the Nitro. I get about 40 minutes per runtime. Long enough that im ready to put it back up for a few days.

RE: mini rock rock crawler for my desk?
You have a few options here. 1. You can get a Losi Trail Trekker RTR on ebay for $150. 2. Or you can get into a bidding war on ebay for a used Losi Micro Crawler. They go for about $100 But be warned. If you go for the Micro Crawler make sure it says RTR and not BnD. Im not sure if your completly familiar with all the terms so Ill just help you quick. RTR: Ready To Run. This means you get everything in one box to make the car work and need nothing else. BnD: Bind and Drive. This means the car requires a Spektrum transmitter. Spektrum transmitters are pretty expensive (more then the car itself) and since the car wont be used for anything extreme (mostly due to its size) you dont really need to go crazy with spending one one. It will just make you wish you had a large scale one instead. Hope this helped. Feel free to ask any more questions.

RE: Which one's best over all consider cost to start-up, spare parts
As for the bandit I wouldnt really consider it at all if you wanted it for racing. Ther reasons are its really heavy, an old design, without the battery its 10oz heavier then the associated B4.1, and has almost no roots in racing. But for bashing its fine because it does about 28mph out of the box, and is very durable. Most local hobby stories will carry parts for it. A side note is that the wheels arent the standard 2.2 diameter. They are 2.1. The Team Durango on the other hand Is amazing. It has a lot of adjustments and speed to tune it to your specific liking. As for the parts Im not to sure who would carry them because ive never had a Durango. The ECX Boost is not the best though either. Its RTR speed is 16-17mph. I have a Losi Mini T with a 1500Mah Dynamite battery, and a Venom Micro Fireball motor. Thats it. No other upgrades and It goes over 20mph on a BRUSHED system. The Boost is pretty durable though. But a few other problems are the stock ESC has no LVC for LiPo's. So like someone said before you would have to put a brushless set up into it for more speed. But Brushless is expensive and you would end up spending the same or more upgrading the Boost then just buying the DEX210 right off the bat. I cant say ive ever seen parts for it in stores either. Overall, I would go for the DX210. I know I didnt right much about it but I never had one before so im just going on what Ive heard and seen.

Any wing on any buggy?
What I mean by the title is, could I use any 1/10 scale buggy wing on my 1/10 buggy even though it wasnt made for it? I have a Redcat Racing Tornado s30 (but with a few parts that arent Redcat such as Losi, Traxxas, Proline, and J-Concepts. Yeah, its an abomination) and I was looking at the wing for the Arrma Raider here: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXBKXL&P=7 My main concern is the distance between the mounting holes on the wings. Is the distance the same on all wings or differs between each one? But if they arent the same distance I could just drill new ones correct?

RE: Blade mQX quadrotor... no-one using it, or another area?
Hey. I have a mQX. I got it a few weeks back. I was looking into different cameras also and I think the Dice cam is the best cause its small, light, and it has pretty good quailty. (Look up some videos on youtube). The weight of whats mounted on the copter matters quite a bit because I tried to put a Hot Wheels Video Racer camera on mine and the slightest strafe cause it to fly around uncontrollably. I recently ordered a custom canopy for it on Ebay but thats as far as Ive gone with it so far.

Micro T horrible run times
My micro T has been having some bad run times lately. The battery is brand new and has only been through 10-15 runs. The battery will charge but the charger is acting weird. The light will start out bright, then go dim, then shut off completely. I also notice that if the car is moved when its plugged into the charger the light will shut off. Then even if I keep re-connecting it and let it charge for a while, I only get a run time of 1-2 minutes. I was thinking about the NiMH wall charger. Has anyone used it and knows how long it takes to charge? I know there is a Lipo and charger but its a little much now since I just bought a few other upgrades for this car. I would have bought the lipo before but the charger didnt act up untill I bought other the other upgrades.

RE: First outdoor heli?
Well I know I said before that I was interested in a CP heli but maybe I changed my mind. I understand all the reasons why a CP is better but I have my own reasons: 1. It is sorta to expensive for me. Im not going to be using these things on a constant basis so I dont really think it would pay off. 2. I came here asking for something for outdoors. Not to stay inside. (So that was partially my fault for getting side-tracked) 3. I wasnt looking for a mini one. I was looking for something 24" or bigger. So with that out of the way I will explain my new wants. Like I said above, I want one 24" or longer, and it can be a 3ch or 4ch. Doesnt matter to me if its Fixed pitch or Co-Axial either. What would be the best OUTDOOR one to choose based on those requests. I was thinking maybe a Double Horse but im sort of wary of the prices for them. ($40 for a 27" 3 channel when the syma I have is only $30?)

RE: First outdoor heli?
I would most likely want to get into the CP helis. I wasnt exacty setting a price range by puting in $65. It will just take a little longer to save for one. What would anyone suggest to start out with if you are just getting into CP?

First outdoor heli?
I was wondering what would be a good first outdoor helicopter. Im moving to outdoors cause ive goten bored of flying inside and conquered almost every obstacle a house can throw at me. (Christmas trees, people, fans, door ways etc. You name it and ive flown through or around it.) I wasnt looking to get into anything hugely expensive or giant, just strong enough to stand up to light winds and things like that. I have a Syma s107g for indoors. For outside I was thinking of a Syma s033g since its pretty cheap online. Around $65 or less for it on ebay which is where I might buy one since I have a $25 gift card for it.

Recently the rear supension on my Micro T has just been sticking. When I push either rear wheel up it fells like part of the suspension arm or something else is rubbing. When I let the wheel go it basically just stays in the same spot and I have to pull it back down. Any ideas why? EDIT: I forgot to mention this happened AFTER I put in new threaded axels.

Firebird Stratos first crash
So today I took out my Stratos for a flight. I went to a huge open field and tried to fly it. It started to go nice and straight and suddenly it took a dive. It wasnt that high and I panicked and I couldnt save it. It went nose-first into the grass and the nose broke clean off, exposing the weight in it but luckilly it stayed attached to some foam. I already glued it back together with alot of hot glue and its sitting now and drying. I was just wondering if that was enough to fix it and will it still fly right. Thanks.

RE: Adapter help
I dont actually have a new battery yet. They are reversed on the boat because the battery has the male end and the ESC/Receiver has the female end. The batteries sold today have the female end on the battery. I wanted to do the adapter thing cause the battery is kinda expensive and I dont have a soldering gun and I didnt want to possibly mess up the battery or ESC/Receiver.

Adapter help
I was looking to put a higher mAh battery pack into my boat. The current battery setup is in the picture below: As you can see there is a problem with the connectors on this battery, and with the new battery packs. They are more-so reversed on the boat. So I was wondering could I use a battery like this: http://www.rcplanet.com/Venom_7_2V_6C_5000mAh_NiMH_Stick_p/vnr1548.htm And use an adapter like this that could go from the ESC/Receiver and then connect to the connector on the battery: http://www.rcplanet.com/Traxxas_Adapter_Female_Standard_Molex_Male_p/tra3062.htm If not, what other options do I have to upgrade the battery to a higher mAh? I would prefer a Dynamite, Associated, or a Venom battery pack.

RE: Losi Mini T wont respond to controller
Yeah I sorta figured it wouldnt be worth it to try and fix it. I found another ESC/Receiver that is the exact same one as mine but brand new of course. Only $27. As for the plugs I found the exact same red ones in my picture at radioshack. When the new ESC/Receiver comes im going to just put the same plugs on the new ESC/Receiver cause I dont like to mess with the motor because I had to have someone solder one of the wires back onto it. The copper wiring broke off the solder pretty easy.
