RE: blade 400 vs trex 250
ORIGINAL: jon6565 sounds like an excellent plan. if you have 5 or 6 months on the sime thenthe 250 or b400 won't make too much difference - the 250 will still be harder to fly compared to the B400 though.
alright thank you very much, but which one seems to be better in terms of like quality and design. the 250 seems to be made out of more aluminum and carbon fiber parts and the b400 seems to be made the most of plastic. I know you can get aluminum upgrades but thats like $250 more. also do u know if you can put scale fuselages made for the 450 (align/heliartist) on the blade 400? Thank you very much!!

RE: blade 400 vs trex 250
ORIGINAL: jon6565 Hey Kyle ~ What you should also consider is the stability if you are a beginner. The Blade 400 is right at the limit of being a newbie heli in terms of it's stability... if you haven't flown a eCCPM heli before then you will need time to learn on the Blade. The Trex 250 is smaller again and even less stable and indeed more susceptible to winds. I don't own
ORIGINAL: Rafael23cc I have flown my Trex 450 in winds up to 15 mph. Is not fun but is possible. To take it a step further, sometimes is not about the helicopter, but about the pilot. Rafael
so what do u think they could both fly in winds at like 10 mph good? i know the blade msr can fly in winds 5 mph or less. Is that the same for these two heli's?

I was thinking about the trex 450, but they would have to order it, it would be much more then those 2, and they didnt stock up alot of parts for the 450. What do you think . Thanks

how do you fly a heli inverted ??
hi i have a blade msr and me and my dad are just curious on how a collective pitch heli can fly upside down? Can it spin the blades 360 degrees or does the blades spin backwards when inverted? How does it work lol [:D] thanks
ORIGINAL: J-MICHAEL Kyle ~ Its most likely just your tail motor. I've had my CX2 stock motors make that whining sound also right before one of them would finally just quit. The reason you have no right yaw, is the tail motor isn't providing the torque anymore to counter the main blades torque. The reason also why the heli wants to spin to the left. The main rotors rotating
ORIGINAL: baurwin make sure u do not have a bent wire in ur plug from the heli or tap on the battery. i had a bent prong on my mcx, so the battery was not getting a good connection and it was doing similar things you have described. lvc starts blinkin 30 sec or so into flight on a full charged battery. i just pried it out a bit and all was good.
i tried all three batteries and they all do it. and the tail motor makes a really weird loud whining sound.

RE: msr flyers !! Please help
we have an MSR down, i repeat we have an MSR down! lol yesturday i was flying my MSR in my garage and i hit the garage door and i crashed it on the concrete floor :(, i was farily high up to. Now i dont know if thats the reason casue i crashed it quite a bit, and i let my dad fly it and he crashed alot more then me, like one time he crashed it and he forgot to stop the throttle and it went from one side or the garage to the other on its side, on the ground :(. my question is i found that at the end of yesturday the tail motor started to make a funny sound, and i am not getting any right rudder (yaw) when i move the stick and somethings the motor wont even speed up when i push the rudder to the right like it should. The heli also likes to spin left and the right trim is already maxed out. wut did i do?? lol [:(] what part do u think i broke , im starting to think its either the tail tail motor or even the 5-in-1 control unit. What do u think Thanks

ya i just bought this today, it is also my first heli, now the guy at the store said i could skip the mcx and fly this one. I flew the mcx at the store and it stayed pretty much prefect on hovering. Mine likes to go all over i guess and it doesnt take off strait up, it goes to the side. is there anyway to fix this. Is this the trim? wut is trim? and how do u trim the msr properly? Thanks

RE: new and uncertian?
ORIGINAL: lje553 It is just a diffrant body if I am not mistaken. I know the navigation lights and the body is really cool on the cx3 but you can get all glow in the dark parts for the MCX which is kind of cool too. I would say learn to fly get a sim. And fly the heck out of he MCX and look at going into some scale stuff later. You can find all kind of options for scale stuff when your ready to move into the 450 class. Just don't rush yourself, it is a steep learning curve that just takes time. I tried to go to fast and bought a bunch of crap helis that I had to spend more time waiting on parts from china than I ever did flying. I also didn't get a sim till very late in the game. That made worlds of difference. But any way try the MCX I am going to get one for my son for Christmas and get him started learning now. :)
alright thank you very much and i was thinking the same, whats a scale helicopter with 2 main blades [;)], im going to wait untill i get good and then i will move up to MSR and then a 450 heli or maybe nitro. then with the 450 or nitro i can start looking scale. thank you for all you help, you helped me choose the right helicopter and also ideas for down the road. Thanks

RE: new and uncertian?
i think im goin to stick with e-flite becasue i know they sell them at my lhs, i dont want to order anything off the internet but i would rather buy from the store. I dont know any other manufacture that they sell and when i go there i will ask them what is better, but as of right now im mostly looking at the sizes and i think im going with the ultra-micro (mcx) over the micro (cx3). Now, there is no difference between the mcx and the MCX S300, correct?

RE: new and uncertian?
ORIGINAL: lje553 I say go with the mcx. It is smaller and you can always find a place to fly indoors. I have a cx2 and if you have access to a larger area it is great but in a house (unless you have a big house.) it is harder to really enjoy it. It will go though a doorway but it is hard to do fast. And when it hits it usually breaks. The mcx is easy on parts because of the low mass. And if your LHS dosn't have them they soon will, the msr. This little guy is coooool! It is the same size as the mcx but is a fixed pitch heli with a tail motor. This thing is a great step up after the mcx. CX3 is a nice heli but you have to have very little wind or it gets pushed around. I would go with the mcx. then the MSR then a TREX 450. The blade 400 is not bad. But after I got my trex I was just blown away. I have a 401 for the gyro so that also makes a big difference. But that is just my two cents. :) But be warned once you are bitten with the heli bug you will never be the same.... and your wallet will always be empty! [:)]
Yea i think the empty wallet thing is the same for anything in the hobby [:)], but it must be enjoyable!! Alright thank you very much. this is what i was thinking of doing to. The cx3 would only be nice if it could fly outside alot, but since it can't well it seems to big for in a house. one reason i really liked the cx3 was becasue of the upgraded lights and the scale fuselage's that you could purchase. For the mcx i dont care if it has the lights but is there any manufacture that sells scale fuselages for the MCX? Thank you very much

new and uncertian?
alright so i want to get into this hobby, i started looking at rc trucks, but i realized that it would be fun if i could race them (cant get a ride to my LHS every weekend), or if my friends got them (they dont want to) I also looked at boats but once again it would only be fun if i could race or my friends would get them, but once again same answer. I have always loved helicopters and getting an rc heli was always in the back of my head. Im starting to think it is the right choice. Now, it is probably the same as rc cars and that i should start with an elecrtic and then work up to the nitro ones. I also heard the the coaxial ones are what to start with. I am looking at the e-flite blade CX-3 rtr or the Blade MCX. I know you cant fly the blade mcx outside becasue of the size, but what about the CX-3? If u cant fly that outside would it be smart to just get the MCX? Which one would be better? Thank you

RE: Basher?
ORIGINAL: pede_187 If the case is that you'll be racing in the Spec class, you may actually want the XL5 unless you have another truck to put the vxl system in. Reason being is that chances are the spec class will require you to run a 27t stock motor like the [link=http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/products_id/22596/n/Trinity-Cobalt-27-Monster-Stock-Pro-Tweaked-Motor-27T]CO27 Pro[/link].
yea the spec class at my LHS has it where you can use and traxxas or rpm upgrade besides (performance parts), stock body, shocks, tire, so all the upgrades i ge, i can just keep on the truck, and when im bashing i can throw the brushless motor and esc in, and when im racing i can throw the stock stuff back in. this is what many people said would be smart, and i will not be racing every week, so its not like i have to keep changing it once a week.

RE: Basher?
ORIGINAL: traxxas4ever no experience with the slash but i believe it does flip. the ruslter does too. you need it to be set just right. i would go for the rustler. it is more of a fun truck to play around with. plus i would go for the vxl. it is worth it. if your are going to go brushless later dont waste your time with the brushed systems and nimh/nicd batteries. they are a waste. the slash can take a beating but so can the rustler. plus remember both have a few rpm hop ups you can get. they will make either car indistrucable. again however i would get the rustler. it just handles so much better and comes as ahte vxl. DONT GET THE XL-5.
yea thats what i was thinking earlier, but at the same time i found a track closer to my house 20-25 minutes away and they also run the spec class. another thing i was thinking about is well its almost winter and the snow is coming. The vxl isn't waterproof and the slash is, so i could have the waterproof in the winter and my bday is in october and christmas is coming, so i do get money for those. So yea when the snow and water drys up, i can go get a mamba max pro or another new brushless system that will probably be out at that time, and i still have to stock motor and esc for the spec class and next winter... hopefully [;)]. But at the same time, its still a hard decision. I still want to know if the stock tires can hold up with brushless power, or atleast some sort of scale looking tire and wheels (sc10 tires, strike tires, proline beadlocks, blitz tires/rims). I heard they can, and ithey can't. If they cant, does anyone know any fairly scale looking tires that do? Thanks

RE: Basher?
alright, well i dont really know where to post this, so i thought i would right here. [:)] Now i have been back and forth and back and forth on which rc to get and it came down to the rustler vs slash and well... Which one would be the better basher? I like the looks of the slash and i like the fact that i can race it at my LHS if i wanted to. If i wanted to go brushless i have to change the stock tires, but i dont really want to scale looks of the truck (even though it isn't that scale) Also do you know yet if the blitz tires and wheels fit on the slash (i really like the looks) The ruslter VXL i was told was also a good basher and it is fast for onroad, but i dont know if i want to spend that money just yet[:o] Which one would be better for off road. Keep in mind i probably wont go to the track alot because i would have to ask my dad for a ride and he probably wont take me too much [:(], but if he say he will take me alot, then slash it is. If not... which would be better. Im sorry if this is starting to bug you guys, but not being able to go to my LHS often, gives me time to keep thinking of new ideas and cars[;)], but next time i go... im buying something forsure.
