RE: Conversion to Gas?
Man, this thread is so fascinating as I have never done nor seen a gas conversion after 20 years in the hobby. I gotta try it. Are there any step by step guidelines or instructions on converting to gas / ignition ? The piece about just running a big ST just by putting gas and oil in it is unbelievable to me. Couldn't be simpler. How do you measure the oil percentages mentioned ? Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to answer my dumb questions. I'm thinking now about a ST 90 conversion. I have written to APT at this writing. No rersponse yet. Thank you.

RE: Conversion to gas
Dad's Toys, Jester... thank you for your responses. I do like the thought of the Saito and that is in the back of my mind. I want to explore the Super Tigre conversion a little further too. Thanks, gents.

RE: Conversion to Gas?
Merlin Man Do I understand you to say that you can essentially put gas in the tank for a ST 2300 and go ???? I mean I know you gotta change tubing and stuff but that seems too good to be true, and you know what daddy said about that. No spark plug, no ignition, no worry about timing and such ??? I must have mis-read.

Conversion to gas
Wow ! I just reviewed some of the posts in "Gas Conversions" ; EXCELLENT ! OK, here's my deal : been flying 18 years. I just bought the Top Flite P 51 ARF, 60 size. I really would like to convert a glo engine to gas if I can because of price of glo fuel and for the "neatness of the idea" and space limitations in the 51's cowl are too tight for known gas engines, as you know. Now... I own a really old OS 120 four stroke. It's a stud. Looks like a Saito because valve covers look like Saito. Can this 4x be converted to gas ?? OR, can I buy an appropriate size Super Tigre and convert it ? I am retired on fixed income so money is an object. Wish I could say money is no object. This subject is entirely new to me so all help is appreciated. Tom C

RE: How do you solder a clevis onto a cable?
I never solder if I can avoid it. Maybe throttle connections only. Don't trust solder. Find another way.

RE: EMI or ignition noise
Thanks, I think to be on the safe side I need to change to nyrod. I just fell in love with my set up, Ya know ? Yeah, Macdona, the jittering ails were noticed by a friend after I set down and we were gathered around the plane. I had not noticed befoe and my flights were in such wind I did not notice in the air. But, sitting there it was noticeable. I had thought it was vibration from the ail links at first. Anyway, I am putting in four servos in the wings so as to eliminate any linkage vibes.

Aileron glitch
Although in the hobby for years, this is my first gas build. Question ... My field friends tell me I should not have run a solid 4-40 rod from carb, past engine EIS ignition to servo because that will transmit EMI or noise to my receiver, which is a Futaba FM. I chose to stay with FM rather than go to PCM because I have never in 15 years or so had any problem what-so-ever with FM. I have set up a solid, no "slop", ball joint connected push rod that I really like. Must I change this to Nirod or Golden Rod to eliminate noise, or am I good to go ? I really like my set up, but..... Engine is a Fuji Imvac 43 on a giant Aeromaster bipe. Really nice... I have flown it three times so far.

Receiver crystals
After a hard crash, is it necessary to replace receiver crystal; or, how can one test the receiver effectively after a crash. Standard range check ? Thanks. T
