RE: Savage 25 Diff upgrade to bullet proof
I just bought the ring and pinion and that didn't come with the washers. If i buy the whole aluminum diff cup it comes with the washers but i have a sweet flat black aluminum diff cup made by maximizer. They don't even make them any more and are very strong. But every time i go in to clean and over haul them the diff fliud would be gone so that washer also holds the O-Ring in place nice and tight. the washer is only 0.2MM thick so i hope it takes out some play also. I am calling HPI firts thing in the mornng to see if they will ship me a couple so i can rebuild my diffs...

RE: Flybarless system or not?
I have a Sookum 360 and yes they work. But be warned it not something you just plug in an go. They are complicated to set up, the instructions are clear and pretty easy but you will need a good understanding of the Bell and Hiller set up of a helicopter. The Skookum hooks up to my computer and everything is set up in a software program you get on line. I liked mine when I had it installed in my T-Rex 450, also still have my EXI four blade rotor but I got rid of all my 450's (moved up into Nitro's). I do still have my Blade 400 and am planning on installing everything into a UH-60 Blackhawk fuselage this winter. Read up on all of the control settings for your specific heli, make certain it's all set up properly, follow your Gyro instructions and you should do ok.

RE: Windshield washerpump ?
ORIGINAL: Bobhend I have heard that the kit for the 2000 will work on the Boxxer, just uses shorter length of the tubing. That tubing is thin-wall silicone rubber and not readily available. Thanks for finding those kits, I know a guy that needs one. Ron's has good inventory, nice. As for Slimline, let us know the story when you get them on the phone. I suspect they are re-grouping to launch the online store. Not much here on the Sullivan pumps. I have 3 and only one is not leaking. Even that one leaked once, then it stopped leaking. I don't reccomend these !!
You're correct, the SL-2000 maintenance kit will work fine on the Boxxer. It is (as you stated) just a longer length of tubing and the o-ring for the top of the fuel jug. I'm not sure it's considred thin walled, but it is more pliable than something like Prather or the old Aerotrend blue fuel tubing. I've never been able to confim this, but I have a hunch the fuel tubing Slimline uses may come from Sullivan.
ORIGINAL: Bobhend Slimline appears to be in limbo. My LHS cannot order from them, and said they were changing to direct internet sales only. the Slimline website is structured as an online retailer except that it is "under construction". I sure hope they can make this work because Slimline pumps and fuel systems are top quality.
Sometimes you need to work the phone. Give Slimline a call. RE: Windshield washerpump ?
ORIGINAL: djstar39 I use the Boxxer pump and has always worked great but is now taking about twice as long to fill my planes. Went to find the rebuild kit but apparently they're not available. Might have to try the MKIII. Dave
Have you tried contacting Slimline directly? You should be able to purchae a rebuild kit directly from them. My Slimline SL-2000 pump is the best pump I have ever owned. Since it's a peristaltic pump so it's self-priming and your fuel never leaves the fuel tubing as it does with a geared pump. My pump must be about 10 years old and I only used a rebuild kit once. It was a done as a precautionary measure about three years ago, not because the tubing in the pump had failed. http://www.slimlineproducts.com/

RE: very weird question
"Seems to me that your transmitter is in idle up mode. That is the throttle curve is like a V or U, or even flat line at 100%. It is for 3D and allows you to fly upside down where the blade pitch changes, but the throttle remains high on throttle stick movement up or down." If I remember the DX6I correctly it too has a flight mode switch at the top left. Perhaps the previous owner had the full throttle setting at selection 1 or 2 Flip it down to normal and see if that clears the issue.

RE: Setti ng a new Blade 450x up for normal flying
It's coming down too hard because of the negative pitch. 50% would normally be 0 pitch 0% would then be negative 10 and 100% would then be +10. Set 0% to = -2 pitch and 100% = +10. work thes values out in your tx travel adjustments. You only need the larger negative pitch for 3D.

RE: blades turn - no lift
I'm not certain about this KDS 450s but probably mechanicaly the same as a T-Rex, Check the bolt at the main rotor head that goes through the main shaft. I have sheared them on my T-Rex as well as my Blade 400. If thats the case, what happens is when you rev the motor up the blades will all spin up fast then as soon as you increase pitch the rotor speed stalls down not giving you the lift needed. If you banged it hard enough to shear the rotor head bolt you likely have a bent rotor shaft as well.

RE: Vintage Sig R-C Sport Build Thread
Looks great Graeme! I have a few of these old kits for future builds and like you have not seen much out there regarding people flying or building them. The foam wing for the RC Sport and the others listed by dls is different than the one supplied with the Super Sport, Colt, Klipper, and Scamp. The earlier wing seems to be heavier and a little more rounded on the lower side than the newer Klipper, Super Sport, etc wing. I am looking for Flutterbug, Stinson, and Relic kits or plans if anyone has them. Rob
