RE: question about caliber 5 with 4 stroke engine ?
There are no 4 stroke heli engines that have enough power. I don't think O.S. even makes the 4 stroke that came in the Kyosho Nexus Legato a while back. From what I heard the helicopter was underpowered to begin with. The engine would have too large to get enough power, I don't think it would fit in your frames, if one even existed. Do a little reading on the Nexus Legato and I think you'll find that the 4 strokes just don't have the power to weight ratio needed for helis.

RE: JR gyro sensitivity adjustment in XP6102. help needed
I'm going to have to spend some time with my radio and see if I can get it figured out. I'll read through the raptor technique pages and see if I can get a better understanding of my gyro setup within my radio. Is the slow spinning on the ground when it's in idle up mode normal, or is that an indication that I need to increase the gain.

Yeah, I have looked around there a bit. The amount of information is a bit daunting. They don't have a gyro setup with the XP6102 and JR G500t though.

RE: JR gyro sensitivity adjustment in XP6102. help needed
I'm not sure if I have enough channels. I have a 6 channel. The upper left switch is the gyro/flight mode channel and the right switch is being used at throttle hold. I did a little hovering today and then set it down and switched it into stunt mode. The heli slowly spinned in circles. I figuered it would in the beginning when the engine was winding up but it did not stop. Am I correct in thinking this is not a gyro sensitivity issue but that I need to trim the rudder? I really want to get this all figured out. I can fly just fine in normal mode and I've spent tons of time on real flight. The idle up mode is giving me trouble though, both the with gyro and just transitioning into it. Should I be hovering first and then flip the switch to stunt? If so it seems like the heli is going to plummet pretty quick depending on where my pitch stick is when I switch. Is this just something to get used to or should I be taking off in stunt mode to avoid this? I don't have any revo mixing.

JR gyro sensitivity adjustment in XP6102. help needed
I put my venture 30 in stunt mode and the tail is wanting to rotate. It's fine in hover or normal mode but I'm just not certain how to adjust it. Pretty sure it's the servo travel adjustment for the gear servo. Right now it's at +80 -60 for both modes and I'm just not sure where to go from here. It's the G500t gyro. The manual for the gyro says Hover Mode/High Rate 90% 75% and Stunt Mode/Low Rate 75% 0-65% . This is exactly hows it's shown in the manual. The heli flys fine in hover mode but it torques real hard and I don't think the tail would keep up if I lifted it off the ground. Does anybody have any pointers on how to adjust this gyro properly?

RE: need advice on FC3 setup for JR heli
I have the JR 500t ring lock gyro, 810g high speed tail servo, and the rest are standard digital jr servos. Throttle curve for stunt mode is 100-90-75-90-100, normal mode is 0-25-50-75-100. Pitch curves are set up to get -12, 0, +12 in stunt mode. I have it set up with JR 3d paddles, 410mm flybar and have put on some spacers at the swashplate to increase cyclic response. I was thinking maybe I should put back on the longer flybar but keep the 3d paddles, try some flybar weights and put the swashplate back on the original setup with no spacers on the ball links.

need advice on FC3 setup for JR heli
I currently have a JR venture 30 setup for 3d according to the manual. I like the grace of the FC3 manuevers. At some point I'd like to have a 90 class machine but in the mean time this is what I have. I need to know if I should put the weighted paddles back on and make the adjustments necessary to have slower cyclic movements. I couldn't find much infor out there on how to set up a heli for FC3, whereas 3d stuff is everywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated. adam

RE: JR Helicopter Forum
I posted this in the general heli forum but I found the JR specific thread and I thought it would be better. I have a venture 30. I just put on a set of Maverick G4 carbon blades, now the heli wobbles in flight. It is like a circular wobble that is causing the disc to act like a hula hoop on the ground, or a spun coin slowing down on a table. It blades seem to be tracking properly, and I did the static balance on them before I tracked them. I did not have this issue before I switched from the stock wood blades. I also switched out the stock venture grips and spindle for the KSJ spindle, thrust bearings, bearings, and Ergo grips. Any ideas what this could be?

tuned pipe available for Webra .35?
My Venture 30 has the Webra .35 engine. Does anybody know if there is a pipe or high performance muffler that will fit the webra and the venture? I don't know the models that are made for the OS and Thunder Tiger engines will fit.

RE: JR XP6102 question about pitch curve
You are exactly right. I had another person on the board help me out with this. It definitely solved my problem though.

JR XP6102 question about pitch curve
My pitch gauge shows -8, 0, +10 regardless of how I adjust the normal pitch curve in the radio. I thought that my shifting the points in the pitch curve to 43-65-85 or something similar I would be able to get my low stick pitch to -2, mid to 5 deg. and high to 8. Having a difficult time setting up my venture 30. I have the pitch setup at 0 deg at mid stick when my normal pitch curve is 0-25-50-75-100 but it seems like no matter how I change the pitch curve in the radio, the servos seem to do the same thing. My pitch gauge shows -8, 0, +10 no matter how I adjust he curve. It has to be something simple I'm doing wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Adam

RE: need a little help with a Venture 30
Sounds like a good idea. So I set the normal pitch curve to 0 50 50 50 100 and that ensures the correct servo position when I have the collective stick at half. Am I understanding that correctly? Also to correct the pitch mechanically I just adjust the tierods that run for the swashplate to the see-saw arms so that the see-saw arms are level with the flybar? JR gave me a range of 23.5mm length (trainer) to 19mm length (normal/stunt). I'm guessing that the closer I get to 19mm the closer I will get to the right pitch. Assuming everything else is correct, these tierods are the proper way to adjust the pitch of the main blades? Thanks again, Adam

need a little help with a Venture 30
I'm currently trying to setup my Venture 30 and I think I'm running into the same pitch curve issues. I'm just going to list the questions I have, any help would be greatly appreciated. 1) At low, middle, and full collective pitch I'm getting -7, +6, +17 respectively according to my pitch gauge. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong but I have done everything I know to do to fix it. I've tried adjusting the pitch servo travel in both directions, tried adjusting the normal pitch curve and checked all the tie rods connecting from the swash to flybar, and from flybar to blade grip. All my tie rods are the correct length, all the servo arms have been adjusted to either level or 90 deg. as required using the sub trim to get it right. 2) The main rotor blades seem to sag quite a bit. I used to have a hirobo shuttle and I don't remember them sagging like this. I'm sure they pull up just fine once they get up to speed but I just thought I'd see if that is a common problem. 3) Do I need to setup up MX1 and MX2 on the JR XP6102 radio system? I'm not a total beginner but I'm not doing any acrobatics yet either. I'm not certain if I need to tamper with these. I'm just not sure how to fix the pitch issue, it seems like I have a much greater range than the manual lists for the pitch curve setups. Thanks, Adam

pitch and throttle curve for Venture 30
I'm trying to set up my Venture 30 but the radio it came with (XP6102) is not listed in the manual. I was wondering if anybody out there happened to have a normal and acro more setup that was working well for them. I have the Webra .35 and otherwise the heli is stock. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Please don't tell me to get a raptor. I've dones quite a bit of searching but I just can't find people who have posted their existing setups. Thanks, Adam
