RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
I use %15 cool power. Their website says do not use after run oil, that there is no need with their fuel. Anybody believe that and do most here use after run oil in their engines?

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
What is the best fuel for the Saito 180? Heli %30 seems to be the common fuel in most threads I've read. Why heli fuel?

4 stroke fuel types
I have a Saito 180 on a new giant u can do 3d. I have been reading threads on 4 stroke engines and fuel. I see ppl using everything, 15% 20% %30 cheap or best fuel, I see ppl using %30 heli fuel and every type out there. My real question is, what are the differance's between car/airplane/heli fuel, if any? I know they have differant oil amounts/type/percentage, but what else is differant? Why would you run heli fuel in an airplane engine? I Thank you all in advance for your input.

RE: Great Planes Giant U-CAN-DO on tower
Great setup, I have the Saito 1.80 in my can do 3d and its great, fits perfect and more than enough power. I hear that any engine bigger than 1.80 will cause firewall issues.I would not go micro on the throttle if it was mine.

RE: Great Planes Reactor GP/EP 3D ARF .46-.70
My Reactor weighs in at 7.1 lbs flight ready without fuel and I used all metal geared servos. As for 3-d flight, I'm not real good at 3-d yet, however, it will hover at @ 1/3 throttle, does a great knife edge and in more skilled hands, I'm sure she will do any 3-d move. The Evo .61 more than makes up for the extra weight. As for the 1.5 oz in tailfeather, it is more to offset the muffler weight hanging off the right side. I'm taking her out today to a club and will let someone better at 3-d give it some test flights and get back to ya asap

RE: Great Planes Reactor GP/EP 3D ARF .46-.70
I mounted mine at the recommended 4 15/16, which is about where it will be flat against firewall. Mine is a great plane, smooth and tracks straight. It flies a whole lot better than my friends with a evo .52 and he added no extra weight to his and the evo .52 is heaver that the recommened .46 and his flies good too, just a little under powered. Check the lataral balance as the muffler will make it rightside heavy, thats why I put my weights in the left tailfeather. If you need any more help or want pics of my setup, P.M me, i'll be glad to help if I can.

RE: Great Planes Reactor GP/EP 3D ARF .46-.70
I'm running the evolution .61 in my reactor and only needed 1.5 oz in left tail feather, she fly's great and straight! Remember, the further back you put the weight, the less you will need. A .46 won't hover, my friend has a evo .52 and it will hover at @ 1/2 throttle, he wishs he had my .61 in his.

I have an evolution .61 with the stock muffler in my reactor. I used hobbico cs-35mg everywhere and my battery is in the back of the access panel area. My engine is mounted at 45 degrees ccw. I only needed 1.5 ounce put in the left tail feather. She flies great!

RE: Parkzone Typhoon 3D ?
ORIGINAL: XxOoCoBrAoOxX GUYS just flew my TYPHOON!! And WoW! This plane is such a smooth flyer. I was hovering for sometime which was really fun. And I was about 2 mistakes high. This plane is the BEST! Im going to install my Parkzone LiPo and see the difference in flight time. The time sucks with the Stock battery. I even let it fly out my hands. This plane flys great with those hs-81s. I think I did a tremendous job!. Ill be installing my camera on board soon so you guys can see some flight. I rate this plane a 5 out of 5! Is it bad for the motor to have snow on it?? Or aroung it??
I think this is the first time I've heard someone call this foamy a "smooth flyer", any wind moves this airplane around like a kite and we all know this. And as for hovering "sometime", there must not have been any wind at all, I got to see that to believe it!! Show us your skills cobraboy, lol

5 years flying is not "new" and the questions are just simply things you should already know! Put a battery in it and fly it today, windy or not, setup or not and fly it, it's a foamy!!!!! Based on your questions and apparent lack of 5 years experience, you will learn all you need real soon, lol

Here is the best deal on a sim, I have this sim and it works great as a trainer and he ships very fast and he sends you a password so you can go to his site and download a lot of planes/helicopters and landscapes. I suggest you invest in a sim, you will crash your plane if not! http://cgi.ebay.com/RC-Flight-Simulator-Airplane-Helicopter-Esky-JR-R-C-USB_W0QQitemZ180073478156QQihZ008QQcategoryZ2563QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

RE: e-flite mini edge 540
So I go flying at a empty airport yesterday, lot's of people and planes were there, Big planes, all nitro powered, p-51's t-34's, cap 540's, pitts special's ect ect. Guess what plane everybody wanted to fly? My little mini edge 540 with a stick mounted 480! The wind was creating headaches aka crashs, but my mini cut the wind like butter, fast as hell, rock solid flight line and never had a problem landing in a 15mph crosswind. I went thru 6 battery packs quick! People loved to see this bird fly and having the smallest plane there, but having everybody parking their planes to watch me fly my little mini, was, well, FREAKING GREAT!!!!

RE: E-Flite Mini Funtana X
I put the rim fire back on mine. I also had installed 4 elev struts top and bottom of elev stab, have seen them break under heavy load, and I used metal geared servos, that's why mine is tail heavy. Mine is 888grams or 31.7 oz's ( without battery ) flight ready. I tried the c.g recommended and after first flight, I could tell it was way tail heavy and now my battery is almost against the firewall. She is rock solid now.

RE: Parkzone Typhoon 3D ?
Thats just the way my Great Planes silver series esc arms the motor, I suspect it's to prevent plugging in the battery with the throttle engaged and having the prop eat your fingers. As for my problem, it's the engine, rimfire 4600 winding shorted, off the repair/replacement.

RE: Parkzone Typhoon 3D ?
Does this apply when you have to arm the motor first before it gets any input from the esc? I plug my battery in, then I have to move stick to full throttle, then to no throttle, then the engine is armed. I was playing with one of my planes just 10 min ago, plugged the battery in and something just felt/smelt wrong and as I armed the engine, thats when this problem started and now it will arm, but when you give it throttle, the engine kinda jerks a little back and forth and thats it, won't throttle up or anything and the esc gets hot when I apply throttle.I hope I explained my question correctly. Thanks in advance for any help!

Good move, I would hate to have read about a crash! I put a stick mounted park 450 outrunner on her last night just so I won't have the shaft bending issue's anymore. She flies great, lots more power + no extra weight = 1 great foamie!

Why would anyone risk crashing a $200 plane because they are too cheap the buy a new propshaft/mount at $3.99 at my LHS. You fly with a bent, weakened shaft and you are asking for a crash, IMHO

With a y-harness that connect both ailerons together so you can plug them both into one aileron channel. jeraldjcook , do not use that prop shaft, it will cause you real trouble quick, I know.

RE: E-Flite Mini Funtana X
Just got home from a full day of flying, man, did I have fun! As for the bl-10 on the funtana x, not worth the effort, I would not recommend it for this plane for 3-d flying, but she's fast in straight flight. I'm going back to the Rimfire 35-30-1450 Out-Runner Brushless, use the bl-10 on next project. Mini edge 540 with a park 480 stick mounted, smooth and fast, solid, easy flying, I had her up the most, love this one! Typhoon 3-d, what can I say, it's just fun, I tried every turn, trick, screwup I could think of, she recovered every time, gotta love foamies! Anyways, I had a great day flying and wish the same for all

RE: Parkzone Typhoon 3D ?
Just put the futaba channel 56 crystal into the parkzone reciever, I did. Manuals say don't do that, but it works fine on all 4 of my planes Also, note my post on the reversing of the throttle/aileron channels. The rtf transmitter has dual rates, no expo and is a good transmitter for park flying, you need expo for better control when in high rate mode, thats why I use my futaba 7cap.

RE: Parkzone Typhoon 3D ?
I use parkzone recievers in all my planes and I use a futaba 7cap transmitter on all of them. When you use this setup, the throttle and aileron are reversed, you need to plug ailerons into throttle channel and the esc into the aileron channel. Hope that helps

Vertical was unreal, 4 feet takeoff and straight up. I love this airplane and can't wait to try some more advanced flying tomorrow, I got an old airport to use all week, I'm flying every day!!!!
