RE: Top Flite Giant Corsair ARF Disappeared.
Has anyone had an issue with the rudder. By pushing I can move my rudder about 1/8 inch at the neutral position with the receiver on. When I installed it I made sure to epoxy the arm inside the rudder. It seems that the design of the rudder control arms at a 90 degree angle is causing this If this movement is normal please advise Steve

RE: Top Flite Giant Corsair ARF Disappeared.
Here's my contribution to the tail wheel door saga. I used carl goldberg 90 degree mounting brackets, a robart scale wheel 2", and a couple of great planes ball links GPMQ3840. I attached the mounting brackets to the electric tail wheel assembly and used epoxy to attach them to the doors. See attached photos Regards Steve

RE: Top Flite Giant Corsair ARF Disappeared.
I was having an issue with installing the new robart 148E electric retracts. When I installed the mount in the wing the rear of the actuator motor was hitting the rear aluminum support plate in the retracted position , even throught I had the mount fully forward to the leading edge of the wing. I called Robart and there is a fix for this. They are sending me 4 new bushings, (#7) (on your parts diagram)actuator spacers, that will be oblong so that the motor actuator cannot move rearward to contact the aluminum support plate when it retracts. They advised me that all new production models will have these new oblong bushings See Attached

Thanks RICK9309 I have a 11x with a 921x Rx. I'm out of channels unless I purchase a 12 channel Rx, just trying to save 200 bucks on a 12 channel Rx ,by using a Y on the flaps Regards Steve

RE: Top Flite Giant Corsair ARF Disappeared.
Hellcat 716 If you install the flaps servos per page 9 para 14 (repeat steps 1-13 for the left wing panel), one of the flap servos will need to be reversed. Let me know how you did it with a Y without reversing one of the servos. Maybe I am not reading the directions correctly. Thanks Steve

RE: Top Flite Giant Corsair ARF Disappeared.
Question for all TF Corsair 50cc ARF Builders. Did anybody reverse the position of the flap servos, so they both face the same way. If I did this I could use a Y harness for the flap system. The hard mount for the control horn will still be in the correct position. This is the way the TF P-47 50cc ARF flap servos are installed. I built this plane also. I am trying to use a 9 channel Rx and I don't want to Y the elevators or use a reverse gizmo on the flap system. I am going to Y the rudder and tail wheel together. Thats 9 because I also want to use one channel for my choke. Thanks Steve

RE: It's here and Looks GOOD new Hangar 9 Taylorcraft
cmoore806 Please see my posts 1284,1290,1293. If you recess the dle30 carb into the firewall, it makes it very difficult to get to the high/low needles. My dle30 using the supplied standoffs was out over 1/4 inch before I moved the cowl Good Luck Steve

I built this plane, opened up the fuel tank area, put the tank near the cg. Placed my servos for the engine (throttle and choke) forward, no flex rods for me. Great flying plane. Good luck on your build. Regards Steve

RE: It's here and Looks GOOD new Hangar 9 Taylorcraft
John My DLE 30 is about 1/8" out from the front of the cowl with the original standoffs. One issue is covering up the original mounting holes. I have two opinions, cover them with a small piece of covering or painting the black mounting bolts white and reinstalling them and use 4/40 bolts with rubber backed washers on the cowl. I am also using a pitts syle muffler from J-Tech. Couple more comments....My throttle servo is mounted under the pilots floor using a flex rod with a manual choke rod to the front of the cowl. I installed two on/off charge switches next to the door(had to make one cutout larger) for my A123 batteries. Good Luck Steve

RE: It's here and Looks GOOD new Hangar 9 Taylorcraft
John The mounting of the blind nuts are not easy. The firewall angle basswood is in line with the new holes. I had to put another piece of angled basswood in, to make it level for the nuts. With this installation the carb is about 3/4" from the firewall using the original standoffs. Steve

RE: It's here and Looks GOOD new Hangar 9 Taylorcraft
I installed a rear carb DLE 30 in my Taylorcraft. Moved and reinstalled the cowl about 15mm foreword. It was a tough job. I removed the vertical brackets around the fuel tank area and installed blind nuts inside for the cowl mounting. Steve

RE: Top Flite Giant P47 arf IS coming
We did the maiden flight on the TF P-47 a couple of days ago. Had 4 flights for trimming. Our (my son and I) experience with flying Extreme Flights 50cc planes made it very comfortable. This is our first 50cc warbird and the landings are predictable. It wants to land on the mains rather then with a flair. With a Yak or Extra and no flaps you should 3 point land to slow it down. However with the P-47 and flaps it just settles in on the mains. We had a lot of fun flying this plane, it's a keeper! Regards Steve

RE: Top Flite Giant P47 arf IS coming
Hi P47 Pilot I have a little more than 1/4" clearance on the right rear portion of the blade to the cowl. I had to add 3/8" plywood extensions to the standoffs of the DLE55 also trimmed the false engine assembly to get it against the inside lip of the cowl. Regards Steve P.S. I will update my maiden information when it gets a bit warmer here in New Jersey.
