I have added 1/16 balsa cross grain doublers instead of plywood to help strenght the fuse, have tried this previously in my second PICO and im sure its good enough.

David it's correct wing tips are glassed, it will help to strenght tips from scratch in paved runway. About the cowl im going to remove it and build a new one, the way you did with your PICO, so lines will be more clean, I was worried about engine heat but talking with Andy convinced me this is no big issue. Regarding the fuse strenght I added CF to triangles from LE to tail, fuse is very stiff compared to other's i drilled , like my second PICO. Here are some more pictures

RE: Scoop! Hangar 9 Phoenix 7...ARF!!!
ORIGINAL: MMcConville We chose the P7 for a few reasons. First, it was quite popular in the mid-late 70's and is as likely to succeed as any of the top classic designs from that era. Its a personal project for myself as well. Watching Dave Brown, Mark Radcliff and Don Lowe as a kid is probably the biggest reason I do what I do today. They were my childhood heros and in the days when they flew the P5 through the P7 I would watch and dream of flying with them one day. Fortunately Don Lowe is as much of a gentleman as he is a famous airplane designer and very graciously worked with us to do the P-7.
Mike thanks for your reply, I thought main reason was : it's an american design and great flier. Hope P7 becomes a succesful seller and in the near future H9 may consider developing other CPP's like CURARE, AURORA, BLUE ANGEL etc ......so many to choose out. Congratulations great project.

There are many 1/2A pattern planes in the classic pattern forum, two threads are dedicated to PICORARE ( TIPORARE 1/2A version ) another one for a DECEPTION and some others. For sure Rainedave knows about this forums as he is one active member in both, like me. I just finished a 1/2A CURARE ( posted a thread in here ) a real missile [:D]

David comment is true, dont use 6 v + with analog servos 'cause they 'll get burn out , it's been a long time since I've used analog servos even for throtle. You can get a decent ubec at a very reasonable price's in the same site I linked lipo for Rx.

RE: Stock Intruder
You can use Lipo's or A123 over 6 volts without using regulator with AR7000 recievers, they handle 4.8 to 9 volts without problems, you can also use lipo for Tx ( Spektrum ask not to) lots of pilots use lipos in Tx and have never heard about any troubles. This is the best option i've found till now, not expensive and a life insurance for your planes. http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=8272&Product_Name=ZIPPY_Flightmax_2100mAh_2S3P_Receiver_Pack_

South the border 1/2 A fuel raised up to $ 45 dlls a gallon [:@] and keeps going up. I really like small planes but fuel at this price is out of question, there are limits for everything. Now all my new projects and old planes are being replaced with EP [:D] my five .049's, one .051 and some spare parts will either rest in a shoe box for decades or be sold. Dont like the idea of having those lil jewels getting rusted because the economy turmoil around the world , interested in stocking up ? I rather let 'm go.
