LotusRC T580P and T580P+ New quads
Hi everyone The older lotusRC Quad forum has gone so big and people are having issues finding their answers so I thought I will start this new discussion for the newest and newly released LotusRC T580P and T580P+ quads that i am reviewing. I am testing them and flight videos are attached here with this post. they flew very well on 8kmph windy day, T580P+ took even 800g payload easily and flew well on 7kmph windy day T580P+ is fold able for easy transportation and storage, uses 14 inch props instead of 12 inch and uses bigger motors. CF structure is a charm too. Board (esc layout seems to be different as well) My testing is still going on. I will keep everyone posted about how things are going. Two of the motors stopped working on 3rd flight on T580P+, there is no burning hardware smell though but it could be just a faulty board or a glitch. LotusRC has dispatched a new ESC and board for T580P+ so I can continue testing and will analyze my board that stopped working for what happened. T580P however on the other hand still flying great and doing a good job. Now its just too damn windy in my area. so I have to wait, I have installed my FPV system and a HD camera on T580P and waiting for the winds to get a bit lower on gusts then I can fly it and see how it will perform. My older T580 is still flying great and very smooth for two month, after LotusRC replaced the board with upgrades (firmware and hardware maybe) and for two months never had any FOD (flip of death) or any other issues, except it fell like a stone from 5 feet when battery ran out. Guess we have to find out how to tweak them to auto land or guess my battery really totally ran out of juice and had no power to supply for auto landing. I will keep everyone posted regarding my testing on these new quads. Here are youtube videos Unboxing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iyYMetEkRZk T580P Flight http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5zZirAaHqQ T580P+ flight http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yeAuLcXDbiA Cheers Ali

Newest X5 Flying wing for FPV from SkyWalker Manufacturer
Hi Everyone, Alishanmao here. Just got my New X5 from bevrc manufactured by Skywalker Company. I am already a fan of skywalker and still am sure nothing beats it for its being the best FPV Platform and being a flying tank. I mean i have flown it 2.2kg total flying weight for 10km easily. Now after... or X5 Wing? Which one is winning :D Cheers AliShanMao

RE: 10C Trainer switch
well it was an easy fix First set everything as you did on futaba, make sure INH shows off on trainer menu, set CH5 and Ch6 to FUNC now turn off everything try this Turn on Radio, put goggles on your forehead so you can move head to test tracker, keep head straight and Turn ON goggles, and as soon as you see picture, hold the trainer switch and move your head, your camera should start moving with a second or two delay, now its working and you can always use tracker. The OFF on trainer menu never turns to ON if you keep looking at it. But if you are out of menus ( home screen) and you pull the trainer switch the Tracker will start working, however downside is, you have to keep it pulled all the time. if you pull it do head tracking leave it then the head tracker remembers the last position and goes out of sync. so you pull on trainer switch again and your camera kicks to last position now no matter what you do moving your head, its difficult to bring it to straight look. so what I do is try to remember the last position too. for instance full right. then again when I am going to pull the switch before that i turn my head full right. pull the switch, now camera won't kick to full right but i can easily move my head to make it pan to full left. if i keep my head straight and pull the switch in this scenario, keeping head straight, camera will pan full right for its last position and now i have to twist my neck broke lol trying to get it to straight or left pan. need a bit of getting used to it. Cheers

RE: BAN THE MUSIC ON AIRCRAFT VIDEO'S
I agree with you. I have stopped doing that a long time ago. people come to my videos cuz they wanna hear pure sound of engines, motors, props, maybe my commentary about how i feel and what I feel when flying, doing flight reviews etc. Music on Plane videos look good only if you are doing an Action promo or flight promo. else totally ruins the video. Cheers I think we should all ban those videos with music, unless its a promo

RE: FlyCat's 71 ? 90 ? 1.20 ?
Just started preparing this FlyCat 71. I have been told and guided by company engineer from trionesmodel that i should use a 20cc Gasoline engine and it will be better and powerful. Well i have a 20cc now, but now after reading lots of posts and seeing people crashing this plane on first flight i am confused. can anyone guide me and tell me where to put Gas tank where is the CG actually after i install a RCGF 20cc Gasoline egnine I am so disappointed with trionesmodel and their lousy engineer and sales guiding customers the wrong way, making us waste our money buying wrong stuff that won't fit and or won't work right. i hope to hear from someone who flown FlyCat 71 right with nitro or gasoline engine.

RE: How satisfied are YOU with your New Futaba 10C Tx??
Sorry to disagree mate but my Futaba 10C has a module, if you take it out inside there you can see a crystal its 50 (72.790Mhz) my R1410DP receiver uses a similar crystal as well of same frequency, that is why I thought I could change them with my old futaba radio TX and RX crystals :) But the only problem is Futaba 10C Crystals look a bit different as they say Low RF Noise on them while my old futaba Crystals do not say such things. that is why I asked.

RE: How satisfied are YOU with your New Futaba 10C Tx??
Another Question buddy if you do not mind. I have a an Old Futaba 6EXAP Radio system almost 6 years old. and it works just great. It has original Futaba Tx Crystal of 72.850 Mhz. Can I just use it in my Futaba 10C module? This way I can control all my 15 aircraft that are set using futaba Receivers. Or Do i need to buy new Crystal?

RE: 10C Trainer switch
I am facing the same problem I am trying to use a Headtracking System with Futaba 10C. Ch 5 Pan Ch 6 Tilt Using Futaba Cord it connects to my video goggles that have built in Headtracking and Video goggles head tracking is operating on same channels, Ch 5 Pan, Ch 6 Tilt. I have made sure none of the Aux Channels use Switch H I made sure the connectors is connected properly I set Ch 5 to FUNC I set Ch 6 to FUNC all other Channels OFF I made sure Trainer INH is set to OFF. Now spring loaded or Switch H none of them will Turn the OFF to ON. Having this, I can't use my Head tracker. My Head tracker and Goggle programming is all good and they are just waiting for This Trainer To Turn ON in Futaba 10C I have exhausted all the menus and Charged batteries doing so for 10 times :( Please help. is there something wrong with Radio or what. Why we can't Turn the trainer to ON with Switch H? Need guidance asap before I send the Radio back to the Futaba Dealer here for replacement. Thanks and waiting. Ali

RE: How satisfied are YOU with your New Futaba 10C Tx??
its a great radio. got mine yesterday but having hard time turning on the Trainer. Can someone guide me? I goto Trainer Set INH to OFF. set the desired channels to give controls to student. but when i flip Switch H or Spring loaded switch nothing happens. OFF Stays OFF, it doesn't go ON as it should. I go to snap roll and it says Trainer is on If I assign switch H to some channel it works right but I just can't get the Trainer to Turn On from OFF. Is something wrong with my radio software or am I missing something here. kindly reply back quick.

RE: Dissatisfaction with RCU and one
you should make the vendor public to RCU and other forums like RC Groups. Do a video on youtube too. seeking professional help against such vendor is good idea as well as one notice from your lawyer can get these people to start talking.

RE: Do I have to use governor?
That is good info Well I will fix the engine, fly and break it in, tune it during that. after 5 tanks, tune it to get full RPM without doing any 3D, then I will set the governor up. I will have to buy a Taco to get Head RPM maybe. I do not have any digital Governor setup thingy so I will just go as per Align Manual. Thanks again buddy. Hope to get more useful tips if you have got time. Cheers Ali

RE: Do I have to use governor?
Thanks for great advice So I just ordered an Align 55H engine with align muffler. I'd break in the engine and then tune the engine (I have experience with nitro engine tuning) now I am not a hardcore 3D pilot. I am still learning. basically this heli is not for hardcore 3D until I master something. for now I am going to do Sports flying, basic 3D. inverted, loops, Tic tocs, rolls, and other 3D learner pilot stuff you know. no high speed tricks except high speed flying and rolls maybe. I am trying to go with Futaba 8FG. how do you think I should set the governor to turn on and off. I have never set a governor before so need ideas and guidance. DO i use an aux channel for governor and a switch on radio to flip it on and off during flight or do i just set the governor to turn on with Idle up mode going to 1? What RPM range should I set on governor in order to prevent engine from burning up and what are tuning suggestions. Do i run engine a bit rich? Any help will be great.

Do I have to use governor?
I have just setup my first ever RC Nitro Helicopter, its a Beautiful TREX600 Nitro Pro Limited Edition. Everything is setup and now I am confused. Do I have to use RCE600 Governor that came with combo or can I just not use governor and fly helis just using throttle curves? Kindly guide me on what would happen (good and bad) if I do not use governor and what would happen (good and bad) if I do use it. Finally what is the suggestion, Shall i use it or not? I am using a Futaba S3003 Servo (Not Digital) for throttle servo. Hope to get answers soon. Ali

RE: need some help on a couple of builds
I Fly 60 and 90 size Nitro Planes For the engines you got good choices. For servos I usually go for TowerPro Servos for rudder and throttle, for Ailerons and elevator i go for Futaba S3001 or S3003 Servos. They work great For a cheap but good setup you can always use Towerpro Servos. I never had troubles with them or with Futaba Servos. For engines you can go for ASP, OS or what ever brand you can afford and put in as per your choice. :) Cheers Ali

RE: Rear Differential
Hey there This happens due to hard landings, sometimes the gear teeth will bust up. No biggie. you can drive it until it just quits working. Then you can buy a complete diff gear set n it takes 15 minutes or less to replace the set. Mine front was busted due to bad bashing of this lil baby, Can't resist it, this is a little bad boy hehe. so during dirving i can hear some cluck clunk but it still worked fine. I drove it till the front wheel drive was gone totally. then I replace it with a new one. Truck was back in action. Cheers mate Ali

SH Engines are good engines. I am using them for almost a year now. Never had any problems. Some of SH 21 and bigger engines run well on 30% nitro and seem to have troubles with 12% or 15% Nitro. HOwever a good brand nitro I never had troubles with them n running on 30% they just run so sweet. Cheers any questions get in touch with me AliShanMao China Operations Manager RedCat Racing USA
