Hostetler DHC 2 Beaver. Anyone?
A while ago, Hostetler released a 22% scale plans for the Venerable DHC 2 Beaver. Is anyone building this particular airplane from these plans?

RE: Aluminum as a building material, discuss
I use solid rivets, the same way as full aicraft are built. Build the basic aluminum structure over a solid jig to prevent twisting, after fastening parts you will NOT be abl;e to make any corrections...No welding, no glue as they tend to harden and crack with vibration..Glue and weld will dramatically add unnecesary weight. How to build?? depends on the airplane! some I will make the cabin structure first and then the tail cone....Build tailcone with thin stuff and go thicker as you progress forward. Before installing skin, make sure to sort out how radio instalation will go, again, no much room for correction.

Airplanes bigger than 3rd scale will need full size aircraft grade hardware, Dubro and Sullivan stuff is too small for the required loads. Google Aircraft Spruce
ORIGINAL: ARUP The Maule Rocket is a similar concept airplane! There are photos of BD Maule(?) taking off from the hangar! It practically jumps into the air! The Helioplane is pretty neat! Hope ya build it.
Yes! the Maule Rocket is a neat machine, but looks like another cub, it lacks the unique features Helios have.. Helio' clean lines and big tail fin, without those ungaiinly struts make it look sleek.. Just my opinion!

RE: When's the 12X replacement coming?
With due respect to all..Futaba, Hitec, Airtronics, and other radio manufacturers.... The ONLY Brand I use for flying my aluminum airplanes is JR DSMX. I have never had ANY issue, even with the older DSM2 Due to the other brands's single receiver configuration I would not even think of trusting 3000 plus hours of work. With a hiden single receiver set up, in a metal airplane, the signal will be completely blanked out. Remote receivers give me the option and realibility I would NOT have with other brands. Hopefully JR will come up with a more advanced equipement...

Question for battery guru about 5 cell NMHI batteries!
Hello, I keep hearing all kind of versions on this. When freshly charged 5 cell NMHI batteries show over 6V, about 7V, (Hight torque HI-Tech servos are rated at 6V) Would this 5 cell NMHI extra voltage damage servos without regulators? Some say no need for regulator complications, Servo makers say this extra voltage won't hurt anything. UNLESS you go to 7.2 LIPO, then you would have to use regulators. Thanks!

Denny, The airplane looks awsome, Having all aluminum airplane experience I will have to say that you have done a terrifict job on your BT 13. It looks very real, aluminum panels are well laid out and it looks real! I regret not having mine done this year, Because of my responsabilties as senior pilot and maintence head with our King Air fleet, I have been very busy, but hopefully, next year I will have it ready. Congratulations on your BT 13!!

RE: It is a Ugly but beautiful flying Twin..
The Evangel would be a fantastic flying twin engine. NO ONE has build one yet!!!!It might not have the beautiful lines as others, however, this airplane will shine when it flies. Most beautiful twin are generally speaking, are a handful to fly, especially when you loose an engine, but this one, you would not have to fear due to its engine layout. The Project would span 135 inches with a couple of ZDZ's 50's and Beechcraft 18 retracts. wing area will be 2340 Squared inches, it will turn heads wherever she flies!

It is a Ugly but beautiful flying Twin..
This got to be the one of the ugliest twin engine aircraft ever built... It has been design to be operated in the roughest fields with simplicity in mind.. While is not a beauty, this would be a great subject given its configuration, close to center engines, big fat wing.. It should also be a great flier. Scale RC twins could be tricky and hard to manage if are not set up correctly but his one should be a pussycat . Talking with pilots who flew her, the say it is very impresive and forgiving not to mention its STOL performance..
