RE: Subwoofers, Amplifiers...
HAHA, i just read this again. BTW, this forum is really dead[:o]. I havent been on here in a long time. Anyways, it is amazing what someone can learn in two months!!! I have since decided to go with two Audioque HDC3's. Im am gonna be running two(10") of them on a IA 20.1(2000watts rms @ 1 ohm, 2700rms @ .5 ohm, And crazy power @ .25 ohm) for now(changing to a Digital Designs z1a, or any other 5kw amp). I will be competing in street A in DB drag. To whoever said to get the JL w7. Dont take his advice!!! Sure W7's are kinda loud, and have some SQ, but there are tons of better options out there for the price. Pm me if you need a setup, i can hook you up(new or used).

RE: Subwoofers, Amplifiers...
Yea my next system i think is gonna be the new Fi BTL (fully loaded of course) 18" And a Rockford fosgate t40001BD. Thats is about $2500 just for that. Then i am buying a Iraggi alternator and an XS power battery which will ad atleast $500 on to that. But first i need to buy a new car because my lumina would be horrible for an spl comp. Im hoping to hit 150db with this setup.

RE: Might buy an Electric 4-tec-Any Opinions?
ORIGINAL: MERCEDESTURBO You guys have no idea what your talking about I have had my E-4tec for 7years and I am not kidding either. You don't understand that this car is over 10 years old so its not going to be the best car out there right now. Its not fair to take a car like the E-4tec and compare it to a hot bodies touring car or a Tamiya. Yes the car is not the greatest I admit but its given me pletty of trust and love which will not stop. So if he wants it I say let him. Theres nothing wrong with that car , you guys have no say in what this car is like since half of you on this thread don't even have one. So with all that being said, I think he should get it, its a great deal and looks decent and you can still buy parts for the E-4tec online at Rcplanet.com so there you go.[;)]
You are right in some ways, the 4-tec was a great car 10 years ago but now a days it is getting very outdated. You would be much better off getting a used ex-racer than a 4-tec. Not saying a 4-tec isnt good for a beginner, just saying there are better things out there.

RE: Do expensive motors make a big difference?
ORIGINAL: Druss
ORIGINAL: SV27dayton druss said:
a V8 from Ferarri is not the same as a V8 from Chevy
do you have data to support this?[;)] chevy has been mopping up the ferarri's lately with the ZR1, which can lap the Nurburg Ring all day at full throttle with no reliability issues. Oh and it still cost's less than any car Ferrarri makes. Sorry had to be said.
Sorry, but I think you'd lose on the quality front. It's not always about power. I'm not saying the ZR1 is not a great performing car but a GT-R R35 performs as well and it's a V6. But in the end, I'd still pick the Ferarri over either of them. and please no fanboy BS, 90% of the world would choose the ferarri over the zr1 regardless of performance. To get back on topic, higher quality motors cost more. Simple. If you can afford it and have a need for it then go for it, if you don't then why bother?
But your picking the car on its looks, not the reliablity. And unless you plan on racing, there is no reason to go with a lehner, neu, or hacker motor. The feigaos will not last as long and may go a little slower, but for a beginner boater getting into the hobby, they are perfect.

I agree youtube is filled with all kinds of stupid remarks about cost. Then there are others that say rc boats are gay n stuff. I wonder why they even spend the time to watch it/right a comment about it. Most youtubers fail at life!

RE: Doesn't anyone know anything about brushless motors on this site?
Ive never run a turn fin on any cats, they arent needed. It is because of the steerable outdrive that you cant control it. Just go buy some octura hardware, that'd work fine

RE: Fiberglass Wild Thing .12
LOL, no i could do one of both too, i am not really limited on money so i think i will do one of each, i will prlly do a .12 NR and a neu 1506 for the other, or just a N1 mono for fun. But i want to build the nitro one first. I should be able to get this up to the low 40's right? With the NR? (remember it is only a 21in. hull)
