RE: Identify this model
Wow a Fresh-Aire!! I thought that looked familiar. I flew the Fresh Aire II in Sportsman in So-cal for a season in the mid 90's, very nice plane!! Actually all first places and one 2nd that year with it[:D]. Had a ys 120NC as I remember.

RE: The complete YELLOW AIRCRAFT SPITFIRE thread.
Has anyone checked your cg with both the gear retracted and down? Just curious if the cg moves but still remains within the prescribed range? If so it's seems a moot point. I havent checked the diff in mine yet but I think I will. I've heard the elevator is quite sensative and why wouldn't it be with that looooong moment arm. So def don't want it tail heavy in the worst case senario. What do they say, nose heavy planes fly badly but tail heavy planes fly once. [:D]

RE: The complete YELLOW AIRCRAFT SPITFIRE thread.
I've really enjoyed following this thread and the builds. I got a lucky chance to pick up a YA Spitty from a friend and now am the proud owner of a new/used Mk XIV. I will probably redo the paint this winter as I'm not too fond of it right now since its quite faded. It has a G38, and yellow retracts. Should be a fun flier. [:D] Who knows I might just build another this winter unless I decide to to a Bf 109. this pic is a bit old and when it was with its former owner.[:D]

RE: Parkzone NEW Messerschmitt Bf-109G PNP and BNF
Ok here are some pre-maiden flight pics. She actually flew quite well even with a fairly brisk wind. I flew with the 3 blade, but am going to try some 2 bladed props as well. Overall a fun project.[:D]

RE: Has anyone heard of BananaHobby?????
They Suck, my brother picked up one of their larger p51's and found it was very poor quality. He flew it once and got rid of it. Too much work to get it working right, including cheezy retracts that kept sticking, cheap components etc.

RE: CMP BF109F BUILDING THREAD
Well I picked up a nice YS 140 limited with a slimline pitts style muffler. I'm thinking this should fly the plane very nicely. I just finished up an Extreme Flight Yak 54, so this will go on my building table next. Anyone try a spinner from here: http://www.skysharkrc.com/shop/?shop=1&cat=15 I noticed that the included dampening motor mount system is not recommended by several people. It looks like a copy of the Dave brown VibraDamp Sport Rail mount. I know the Dave browns work very nice since I used them with my ys motors in my pattern planes. I might have to buy the orginal dave browns since they should bolt right in.

RE: ? Your first RC plane
I started on a Craftaire Cowboy with a thunder tiger 15 and an aerosport 4channel radio. Years later I found a new kit of the cowboy for sale and scooped it up and put it together for nostalgia sake.

RE: Futaba 12FG Press Release Announcement
Shoot, I went and bought a DX7!!! Oh well I'll just have to wait for next year and see how the 12's work out as well as wait for maybe a midrange system. I've been using Futaba for a long time and I needed an upgrade for my 7uhps. I have an 8u as well. Either way I would still have to upgrade all of my rx's etc to switch to 2.4ghz. I guess I'll just do it piecemeal. My pcm's work great, bu I do like the notion of better latency and no freq probs. I can turn on my transmitter and do some programming right in the pits without worry, I kinda like that.

RE: M11, 3PK, or Z-1

RE: M11, 3PK, or Z-1
I'm actually considering the same thing but between the Futaba 3pk and the Airtronics M11. For the most part they seem like they have similar features, the M11 has more inital memory, the 3pk has more potential memory with campac, etc, etc. However, I'm wondering from those actually using these radios, what you like about them and why you chose that one over the another.

What motor for my 1/3 laser?
I'm trying to finish up my laser before the summer is over and need a good inexpensive motor. I've of coarse thought about and read a ton of the Fuji 64 and Zenoah g62. I noticed also that the Brison 3.2 comes close to using the same props and is quite a bit lighter. How does it compare to the performance of the first two engines mentioned? Does anyone have opinions on these engines? I want to use this plane for starting out in IMAC maybe the first 2 classes, so I don't need 3d type performance. And forget about zdz,3w, etc. I don't want to spend that much...until the maybe the next plane...

Fuji bt64 vs. Zenoah g62
I'm trying to choose an inexpensive motor for my 1/3 scale laser and have come down to these two motors. What are the opinions about these motors from people that have used them? The price seem fairly similar. Thanks.

RE: Help with Identifing my 1/3 Laser
Well is sure looks that way. Does anyone have pdf of the Lanier plans for the 1/3 laser?

RE: Help with Identifing my 1/3 Laser
I'm not so sure, this one has a built up turtle deck(lanier's is plastic). I need to get a look at some instructions for a lanier to see if maybe this one is a modified one. The person I got it from told me it was a small company that built these as arfs and the thought the cowl and fiberglass parts were possibly from precision model products. I don't think they are around anymore though. Does the Lanier have a phenolic or some other wing tube in the fuse that the aluminium wing tube slides through, because this one does not have this, it just has some plywood reinforcements on the inside of the fuse sides. Also the tail is completely built up with sticks and not sheeted on the vertical and horz stabilizers, I think the lanier is sheeted on these structures, aren't they? The Rudder and Elevators are note sheeted as well. Thanks for the replies... the search continues. Alvin

RE: Help with Identifing my 1/3 Laser
No I don't think thats it unless made some smaller versions in the 30% scale. And mine has a built up turtle deck unlike the foam one of that one. Alvin
