DMalyuta; Thanks for the reply. I think it would be informative to all. Some could see how it could make modeling simpler and some of us could learn new techniques. I really would like to learn how to 3d and how to tie this into cnc! Thanks again. Have you thought about YouTube videos?

DMalyuta What program are you using? How did you come up with all the cut throughs along the fuselage? I am looking to do the same on another aircraft. How about some instruction on the steps and inputs into the program as you go. Thanks

Daniel: Take a look on you tube at some Bob TV (Bob Moore). He has just finished building a F105 from plug to flying (10 minutes at a time). He show you all the steps. Try it, you will like it! Here is a link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bttn4NNvwg&feature=uploademail . You may have to cut and paste the link or in the you tube search type in - 105 thunderchief kits #34 to get you started. Hope this helps Don

RE: Fiberglass cowls
I found a place in Ontario that manufactures and sells many different epoxy resins. I found them on ebay and picked up my order and the ceo spent 1 hour discussing the many different epoxies and there differences. The place is called polymerproducts. They sell many different glasses, carbon fiber, additives, and as I said many different epoxies with different pot life's. They sell 24 once and up sizes. They showed me several of there products while I was there. On eBay they have many videos and information on each of their products pages for sale. Their prices seem cheaper to me. You could find their products and see their attributes by searching EPOXY RESIN in eBay's search if you were so inclined. Just my 2 cents. Don

RE: where to buy fiberglass materials near San Bernardino
Dave: Thanks. CST has the shipping for the partall almost for what the gallon of the mix is. It would be almost 45.00 a gallon! I have found it for as low as 16.00 plus shipping but by the time it is done, it is back about the same. It looks like everyone checks the shipping and cost of others and adjust to about the same! ACS charges alot compared to prices else-ware. I am an a&p and do buy from them at times. Thanks again. Don

RE: DFX file
Just a thought... You could take the drawing in your cad program and draw line on it that are 7x10 on it so that you could overlap the pages. Then take each of the 7x10 sheets marked and print (plot) that page. When it asks you what printer to plot to, you tell it pdf and put it in a folder that you made on your desktop or where ever you want. In the end you will have the whole page made up of each page in adobe format and you can print them all and overlap them and tape them together. Just my 2 cents. Don

RE: Laser Cutting Service? / RFQ
I am sure someone has asked this before and gotten an answer, but I don't know how to find it so, what is the cost of laser cutting? In the machine shops in the past there was a set up cost, then direct time and materials involved. Is it the same for laser cutting? Just for an ideal of cost, what would it cost for 1 bulkhead for a 8" wide fiberglass jet that uses 1/4" plywood? Now if it had 8 bulkheads? I ask this differently as I do not have any idea how long it would take the laser to cut a detailed bulkhead out of this size. Thanks for any information that you can provide. I realize that there are many variables. Please mention these if you can. Thanks again. AMT

RE: Cab-O-Sil & Micro Balloons
In reinstalling bulkheads you need the strength and usually you only use a mix of micro balloons and resin as a light weight filler. Usually you use flox and resin as a stiff glue. Just my 2 cents.

RE: How to Glue Flaps
I think I know what you are saying here. I have not put one of these together, but on planes I have done, you use the tube only as a guide so that the push rod has something to follow. The tube is installed up to the gear so that you can see it, or from the gear to the inside of the plane, depending on the instructions. Now you can push the rod into the sleeve or tubing that you just installed. The rod cannot hang up on anything and the rod will end up where you want it. Unless the instructions say to leave the tubing (sometimes in the past I have left it in so that the rod cannot flex) you would take it out. Did they give you the tubing in the kit? If they did, are there 2 of them? That would mean they wanted it left in as a guide and stiffener for the rod. With out looking at the plans or knowing the kit, that is the best I can do. From the description you gave, where they said to pull the plastic tube through, I would think that they are only using it to guide the rod through the wing and to remove it as you would be using a longer tube so that it goes the distance and can still be pulled out. I have used a 2 or 3 foot piece of small tubing I have had in the garage that I could fish along the line I needed and then slid a stiffer push rod rod into it until it was out of the wing or fuselage on both ends and then removed the tubing. I hope this helps. Don

RE: How to Glue Flaps
When you are using CA glue, there will not be time to insert it after applying the glue. Install the tab, flap or aileron in position, place the drop or 2 of thin ca on the Hinge (what you were calling fiberglass) everything should be in place and give it a minute to wick into the materials, and you are done. After it is dry, the hinge will seem stiff sometimes. Just work the flying surface around and all will be well. Don

RE: How to Glue Flaps
When you put a drop or 2 of CA glue on the installed tab. it will wick into the wing and glue itself in. After gluing it and letting it set for a minute or 2 and you can pull on it and you will then see it is glued tight. Hope this helps. Don

motor size for epp f22
Hi: I am new to electric. How do you decide what type and size motor-prop -speed control and battery combination to put in a plane? I was looking at a site where they gave you 24" and 32" plans for a f22 made of epp foam, but on the video he never mentions the motor - prop -speed control or battery! Is there a chart or something that will tell you everything? Also, I was looking on the web and on e-bay and the motors seem fairly cheap. When I check other sites and the local store, the motors seem to start at about 60.00. Obviously there is a difference in the motors, but enough to validate 3 times the price? Thanks to all in advance for any helpfull input. Don

Bad super glider fuselages
John: I want to thank you for sending the 2 glider instructions so that I could determine which one I would like to buy. I decided to choose the Super glider even though I did not get a sheet on it. The glider finish was good, but the fuselage was bent and the vertical stabilizer leaned over 1 ". I received a return authorization from your company and I sent it back (20.00) UPS. Your company was very fast in shipping a new one that arrived today. When I asked for a return authorization I sent a picture of the problem and asked for the person to check out the new one before shipping. Today I received the replacement glider. The finish is no where near as good as the first one. There are ripples, bumps and flats in the airframe. Also, this frame is bent and twisted as bad if not worse than the first one! Now I have an airframe that has a bad finish and that is twisted! I am very disappointed in this purchase. I have no intention of sending this box back again as I will then have 160.00 invested in a 99.00 airplane. At this point I have to cut my loses and give up on this plane. All I can say is that it would be nice if someone at Nitro Hobbies would Open up a box as I requested, check out an airframe and send me one that was straight with out multiple flaws, with out causing me any more grief or costing me any more money. Anyway, thanks again for the fast shipping and thanking you for sending the information I requested on the models. I would like to hear your thoughts on this issue if you can find the time. Thanks again Don NitroPlane RMA656357

AH1G Thanks for the information. I would be curious as to what it would take to make a set of foam wings. I wonder if they would have to have balsa sheeting or maybe fiberglass applied, would they need spars, and how to attach them! I say this as to my past experience with gliders, I don't know how long these will last !! Thanks Don
