RE: backdraft truggy or new model in he works?
I converted a monsoon to brushless using a 8e motor mount and electrics. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_9312311/tm.htm It turned out to be a great truck. Its wider and longer then the backdraft series and the parts are much stronger. The chasssis is also very tunable. Its as fast as the nitro and accelerates 10 times faster.

Soak them again and use a gray (fine) scotchbrite pad to scrub them. It shouldn't take much effort since most of its allready gone. Wear good chemical resistant gloves EZ Off is tough on the skin.

I've beaten the crap out of my backdraft 8e and haven't broken anything. I'm talking jumping over my suv trying to break it. Its like a timex, takes a licking and keeps on ticking. I think these are great cars and that they're as durable as any thing else and yes I've owned other brands so I'm not just talking out of my a**.

The connectors not right you'll need a Deans or T style connector but thats easy to solder on . Not shure about the quality I haven't tried any of these yet.

The volcano epx is a great stater truck. Its controlable speed wise and is very tough. It would be great for a youngster just starting out.

RE: My Dunerunner 2X4
I bought the lights at NAPA: http://www.napaonline.com/Search/Detail.aspx?R=BK_60190_0006384456 It took some work to fit them into the housings on the car but it was worth it. The heads unscrew and I just soldered wires to the light and run them off the receiver pack. These are bright!

Yes it is a Backdraft motor mount I cut the diff mount part off and did some filing to the bottom to make it sit flat on the chassis. Drilled and countersunk a couple of holes in the chassis and there you have it.[sm=idea.gif]

RE: Rampage Dunerunner tire options
Well I answerd my own question today. 5B tires will not fit the Dunerunner wheels. The 5B tires have two different inner diameters. The outer is smaller than the inner. Oh well I've got a nice set of Badlands to put on some 5B wheels that I'll have to mount to 5B hubs then I can use them on my Dunerunner.[&o]

It's been a couple of years since I had mine but at that time you could e-mail MRC directly and still get some parts for these trucks. I busted the gearbox case on mine and they actually has them in stock. Try this mrcsupport@modelrectifier.com

It does take some getting used to. It is prone to spinning out but that can be controlled with the throttle. I've had to adapt my driving style but man its fun as hell to drive this thing. This is my first 1/5 scale and I'm hooked. I may be done with the smaller stuff. (Well at least for a while). [sm=teeth_smile.gif]

RE: Rampage Dunerunner tire options
Blue Bird BMS-L530MG steering servo (348 oz of torque). Hitec HS945MG throttle/brake servo. I'm on the second set of plastic gears with metal ones on the way. The first set looked like they melted, but I did find a bad bearing in the trans so that probably contributed to the failure since it was only the 3rd tank of fuel. Its a great buggy and seems very durable.

It looks like a Sandmaster. The only thing keeping me from saying it is for sure is the fuel tank being mounted on the rear of the car.

I'm running these in three of my cars and trucks they work great. They don't have the features of the expensive models but they do the job. They have servo reversing and steering dual rate and you cant beat the price. Check out www.andyshobby.com/radios

Rampage Dunerunner tire options
[sm=confused.gif] I'm looking to upgrade the tires on my Dunerunner. Does anyone know for sure if the Baja 5B sized tires will fit the stock wheels. I think they will from looking at the measurements but I'd like a few experienced opinoins before I start buying tires. Thanks in advance for your help.

RE: ? RS 10 mods ?
Run an 8 tooth in the rear and a 10 tooth in the front. Don't bother with the stock tires get a set of Rock Claws or Proline Hammers. While the tires are off the rims, add some stick on lead weights. This will make a world of difference in the performance.
