RE: Gruman Ag-Cat
I believe this would be the shot but with the front panels on it to better see the Shape . Is This frame a Radial or Turbo ? ......If you look on the Fitzegerald plans were they show to mount the engine it shows a ROUND disc . That's the section i want to clarify as having a Different shape or not . . . . . . . I need to go back and check your Previous pics when I get time . Thanks . B.T.W. how's your Progress on your Builds ?

RE: Gruman Ag-Cat
Yes, I was wanting to see if the front end kept the same Taper out to the prop as the Fuselage. This shot appears that it Does . One thing else that Bugs me a bit is the Firewall on the Fitzgerald plan. .. . . . It is ROUND! ........... I Believe it should be a Bit OVAL and Flatter on the Bottom . ........... I thought I saw it that way on one of your Previous Pics of the Radial version , That was basically a Frame . I've been Slowly TRYING to make room in my Little shed to organize and dig out my wood and kits so I can try to get something built already ! [8|]

RE: Gruman Ag-Cat
I'm keeping these short since I'm Bad about Timing Out ! As far as the engine mount goes , I tied in a 3/8" Ply square at the Front end of the Fuse/frame, Made a 3/8" ply Box out to the end where the Engine mounts and put on a 1/4" ply disc to finish out the shape. I then made SWISS CHEESE out of the 3/8" ply with a hole saw ! .............. The one thing I should have done is make the END of the Box 1/2 or 1" ply instead of the 3/8 ...............................

RE: Gruman Ag-Cat
As far as the Cabane struts go , I did them like the plans show and used either 3/16 or 1/4 rod but am very uncomfortable with the MOUNTING ! .................. I will probably redo them and put 1/4 or 1/2" ply down in the side frames and use 1/4x1" flat aluminum stock , I made up another type out of scrape 1" x 1/8" aluminum in the style of Landing gear but would have to put some Ply Across the top frame to secure to .............. I'm OPEN for BETTER OPTIONS if anyone would like to coment !

Timed Out ? ! ? ! ............... I Guess I need to TYPE FASTER ! ! !! ! Anyhow , RED, I Thought you were interested in doing a TURBO version ? ! .......... SOME ONE NEEDS to do one ! [sm=wink_smile.gif].... I Had HOPED to have done One of Each by now ! one Radial and One Turbo ! One of my Ideas I had Considered was to just extend the forward lines of the Radial PLANs untile they LOOKED right and then put a Big Twin cylinder up front and then COVERING the Cylinders and Spark plugs with the Dummy Turbo Exhaust pipes , Drilling alot of small holes on the front side for airflow and have it Vent out the PIPE ends ! ? .......... How's that ? ............. I DO like the front end of that Turbo Cat that You sent pics of awhile back . . . .

RE: Ron Weiss 1/3 Fleet
Just to Throw in MY 2 cents worth . .............. I Too have the Ron Weiss fleet KIT that I acquired about 3 years ago I guess , And Have been Wanting to Start it but have been a bit Hesitant because it looked a bit complicated AND I have a Previous Project I'm TRYING to get back to. . . . . Needless to say I got mine on EBAY when "The Airoplane Works " auctioned one off on there . I Have to say it is one of the most IMPRESSIVE kits I have ever had ! I Haven't seen it in a while but I believe the Spare slots were cut out on it TOO . anyhow , I am GLAD to find this thread and will be watching it all the way through for future reference . Although I have skipped around , Have you mentioned your engine choice ? I Believe it was designed for the G-62 , but have heard of of a Z-445 installed for more realistic flight . I have the GT-80 which I bought for it . ............................ What do you plan on Covering it with . ? . Film or Fabric ? if Fabric , what kind of set up ? ............ THANKS ! .......... don't want to Time Out ! [:-]

Hey, RED ! Didn't you post something awhile back about a MUD DUCK ? [sm=50_50.gif] I have Also been checking out the AgriDuck lately and though about the smaller 3-5 cylinder Glow radials for it , It Actually looks more like a TURBO version and conidered putting some large dummy Exhaust stacks on it . . . . .IE . . a TURBO DUCK ! ! ! ! Another thought is to bash it and lower the horizontal stab and ADDING a TOP wing to make a Bi-Plane . I Think a Radial on that would look pretty neat ! ! !. Just not sure what to call IT ! ! !! ! ! ................... ? ? AgriDuCat ? ? ? [sm=confused_smile.gif] My MIND has been going nonstop about planes , I bet there's barely a Day that goes by without my kits on my mind .
