RE: Help me on off road electric truck
Guys, Thanks a lot for your great feedback. Since labor day is comin' up long weekend, my school has started along with the job, so hopefully this weekend, I'm gonna try to trouble shoot it. At the moment, replacing any part is not an option, cos money is tight, and we have already spent $125 on it so, I've got to make it work, if it won't work, then I'd take it to my LHS and have those guys look at it and ask them how much is it gonna take to fix it, if it's within $30 I'd prolly go for it, if not then, I'd think bout something else. Once again I truly appreciate your great trouble shooting guides! I'd get back with y'all Enjoy the long weekend![:D] Mody

RE: Help me on off road electric truck
Syco, guver, Thank you very much for your replies. As a matter of fact, I wanted to connect the motor directly into the battery, but somehow motor's wire are soldered into the ESC and I don't think they can be pulled out. I'm gonna take look at it again, and I'd see that if something can work out, if not then I guess I'd see what options are available. I'd update you guys tomorrow! Are the products of Exceed RC's any good? Mody

Help me on off road electric truck
Hello Guys and all, This the first time I'm posting something here. Almost a month ago I bought my step son who is almost 12 years old an electric truck from http://www.nitrorcx.com. It's 1/10 2.4Ghz Exceed RC Electric Infinitive EP RTR off Road Truck and here is the link http://www.nitrorcx.com/51c803-savagreen-24ghz.html This is what exactly I bought and paid $125 with shipping. It's been working good so far on the road or off the road which is mostly on grass. It has I think 2000 mah nimh 7.2V battery in it. I've been flying R/C planes since 2005, mostly nitro planes, never been into electric and got a Yak 54 which has DLE20. Anyway I truly need your help guys and when we turn on the transmitter which came with it, and RX, it beeps makes a sound but it does not budge at all, no matter what we do, it looks like that it's not even giving power to the motor or I don't know motor is dead. I delved into it which I tried, I changed the 4 AA batteries for the Transmitter and I checked up on the RX battery it had full 7.5volts on it. I have not been able to find the problem,. For your more clear understanding here is the link for the video, so you can see what is going on and provide me with better solutions. Guys I really need your help and I can't thank you enough in advance for helping me out. I would really appreciate it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BxUQXVTCcEI&feature=youtu.be Thanks Mody

RE: Importing and exporting RC gas engines products
Great topic about Greed of businessmen. America is a capitalist country, run by businessmen. Biggest word is used is Outsource, outsource everything cos if I guy gets paid $10 an hour, you can get 3 guys working for $10/hr outside USA, who's gonna make profit, businessmen, who is gonna get filthy rich businessmen. There is no law in the constitution that we can stop outsourcing. You call any bank's 1800 # any IT company Dell or HP, your call is routed to Philippines, India, South America etc, where people face a hard time understanding their accents. Why these call centers don't exist in USA cos of greed. What is the reason of this financial slump/ economic turmoil or crunch. Idiots of wall street did not know, how to handle trillions of $$$ surplus, invested in real estate and those people who could not afford a $600 apartment, owning $200,000 house, so they won't be able to make a payment, money disbursed to those people who did not cut out for handling it and economy collapsed. Walmart's every super center makes $1million a week on average, they even cut down the hours of employees, WHY? what are they suffering from, a shrink which is stolen products and are weekly nearly $100,000+ that's it, other than that they are living in heaven. HP (Hewlett-Packard) Billion dollar company, I was working there for 15 months, took me off the project and brought in 2 incompetent women, despite I was the best, a billion dollar company is cutting back by taking off few contractors like me who are making less than $40,000 a year. I came to USA in December 2007 from Pakistan, through the proper channel which is immigration, and I became Proud US citizen last year June 2011. I'm yet to get a full-time permanent job, I don't blame USA, I blame businessmen. Great state of Texas, no unions are here, but employers can kick your butt out any day anytime without assigning you a reason why???? Businessmen who are running this country are destroying it with their own hands and we need to make a change, that's why I'm trying out my utmost to get back on job and full-time permanent this time, so I would not stay on unemployment, though it's my right, but I wanna get off of it asap. My interviews have gone through and I'm waiting for response from them, hopefully this week, I would hear a good news. It's tough but not impossible. America is a great country to live, to grow and to be happy. It would change and we would change it to the best. Mody

RE: Minnflyer (AKA Mike Buzzeo) has unexpectedly passed away
I was just browsing through the Gas forums and I saw Mike's name and then it said passing away. I could not believe in my eyes. Mike has been a helping hand to me ever since I joined rcuniverse. When I was back in Pakistan, He helped me out, when I came to USA, he helped me out. I've exchanged emails with him. His sudden demise is gonna leave a huge gap here and in the R/C community. He was kind, gentle and a great help with devotion and honesty. MAY GOD REST HIS SOUL IN PEACE. MAY GOD RENDER HIS WIFE PATIENCE AND STRENGTH TO COPE WITH SUCH A BIG SHOCK TO HER LIFE BY LOSING A GREAT LIFE COMPANION. MIKE YOU WILL BE MISSED. AMEN/AMEEN Mody

RE: How important/ critical is Prop Balancing?
Guys ! Thanks a lot for the great information. I'm still unable to get my DLE20 run due, since my college homework is kicking my butt and it's been a month + I lost my job and trying my utmost best to get back on job. Got some interviews done and waiting on it. Weather of Magnolia or Houston has been pretty windy lately and winds were blowing like 18 to 20mph yet tornado hit OK and KS. I've got to buy me the dubro balancer as well as digitach. My plane Yak 54 has been sitting in the garage and I've not been able to run the DLE20, and the spark club cap or I dont know what particular word we say it or spark plug hammer, does not fit well. I was told if I can hammer it gently in order to make it fit. I've yet to do anything. I learned one important thing, by all odds Prop balancing is mandatory. Thank y'all Mody

RE: How important/ critical is Prop Balancing?
Xoar 17X6 prop hole is not big enough to slide through the crank of DLE20. Do I have to use a drill bit to ream it or do I have to use a reamer to make the hole bigger in order to fit in right? If I got to use reamer so what size reamer do I have to use? Thanks Mody

How important/ critical is Prop Balancing?
Hi y'all, How important and critical prop balancing is? I've been using APC, MAS nylon or carbon fiber props in the past never balanced those and have been flying the plane. I got me a Gasser DLE20 which I still yet to crank it up, I got me Xoar 17X6 Beechwood prop wooden. Do I still have to balance it? or does it come pre-balanced from the factory. Do the wooden props have to be balanced as well? If they are not balanced and How can I balance my Xoar 17X6 Beechwood prop. If props are not balanced what damages would they cause a plane? engine or airframe? If the prop wiggles through the crank, it also causes damage to the engine? I'd appreciate your feedback and experiences. Mody

ameyam, I've been advised to use separate battery packs for the ignition and for RX. I'm using this battery pack for my RX http://epbuddy.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=22_7&products_id=19 1500 mah Nimh from Spektrum for Ignition. DLE20's manual says 1000 mah and above is fine for ignition Here's the manual link http://manuals.hobbico.com/dle/dleg0020-manual.pdf I'm also attaching the screen shot from the manual regarding ignition.

RE: what prop to break in a DLE 20CC????
I got me Zinger 16X6 for break in, but I was told that break in on the ground can cause some of the heating issues, and I was also advised to get 17X6 for the accurate RPM. I got my Xoar 17X6 prop. I'm yet to crank up my motor, since there are some issues with my plane, little bit fixing of the Canopy and cowl. 17X6 is what recommended by most of the guys here. Mody

RE: DLE Stickers
Well mach2, It's a great thread you picked out, as a matter of fact, I always wanted to ask one thing and your thread helping me to post that question. Question was where to get DLE's decal. I purchased a DLE20 very recently, installed and I yet to crank up the motor, it's installed and still brand new since no oil, or gas touched it, so still Virgin lol[:D] The box I had gotten from my LHS it was opened inside the shelf and motor was on display inside the shelf again. I never got any decal in the box with the brand new DLE20 engine. Do I have to demand my LHS about the decal and they should provide me one? Thanks Mody

RE: Which engine vibrates more! Gas or Glow 4 Stroke??
So the verdict is, under any circumstances the 4 stroke glow engine shakes more than 2 stroke gas engine, but one thing I noticed in many videos as I mentioned earlier, same displacement 2 Stroke gassers give a lot of punch in speed to plane like warbirds than a 4 stroke glow engine.

RE: Which engine vibrates more! Gas or Glow 4 Stroke??
Apart from the vibration of 4 Stroke glow engine, I've noticed in many videos that DLE20 gives a pulls a lot of speed as compared to the same size 4 stroke glow engine. Planes with DLE20 gives more punch to speed so, Gas engines are better choice even when choosing the speed[:D]

Yeah, I ain't worried about 4 strokes, I'm gonna run my DLE20 and for the first time I would feel for myself how it runs. I'd hopefully be having a maiden flight of my Yak 54 in the first week of March. I'd let ya know my first Gasser experience as well as the vibrations.[:D]

RE: Ethanol-free gas?
I would like to ask a question here. I have DLE20 and hopefully I'm gonna run it for the first time. I bought this synthetic oil for it http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXS626&P=ML I gotta mix up a gallon of a fuel with may be 2.5 ounce or 3.4 oz of the synthetic oil. Should I get the regular gas or premium with it, fuel pump can I use the same which I've been using for my 2 stroke glow engine which has 10% nitro in it and tubing can be regular tubes which I use or for filling my Gasser I need to use tygon? I also found these articles about ethanol and methanol http://www.differencebetween.net/science/difference-between-ethanol-and-methanol/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alcohol_fuel Thanks. Mody

Captain, Wow that's a lotta work, and you got downside as well, that landing gears don't break out lol[:D]. I got question. The transparent material of the canopy is so flimsy, and while installing the canopy back, I always am afraid to break it. A different question, is it necessary to use a Y-harness on ailerons, or is it mandatory to assign 2 different channels to aileron servos? Mody.

RE: Would gas engine's influx obsolete glow engines?
Thanks captain2, As far as the main landing gear is concerned, no further reinforcement could have been done, my mentor said that nothing can be done to it, just use it. I think under the fuselage where the landing gear plate is there with 6 holes to hold on to it, I could not use the bolts to tighten the screws up, landing gear has been screws tight with a lock tite in it, that's it, I have not added any ply plate for the added support or anything, it's just the way it is, the way it came with the arf? What further can be done in your opinion to secure the landing gear? Thanks Mody
