RE: Need some carb help
That’s more like it Pops. So overpowered you have to take-off half throttle or it will torque roll itself into the ground because of the tremendous horsepower. Why didn’t you say that earlier??? [:D] Good call on posting the Nova picture too, your cool points have been fully restored. I can now return to races in 2010 with my head held high and honor restored to the Seaholm family name…

Mid-range??? C'mon Dad, Seaholms don't do half throttle. You always told me, "Heat is horsepower to the point of metal transfer". You're embarrassing me with ths mid-range stuff... [:D] May be carb height relative to tank issue. Might be time to try a Tetra tank.

RE: KCRC Fall 424 Race – October 10th & 11th
The first 2-day KCRC 424 race is in the books. The weather was frigid but the competition was hotly contested. The out of towners showed the MOKAN crew a couple things but I think we showed them a thing or two as well. Thank-you to everyone that traveled to our AMA 424 Q-500 Short Course Race. Thank-you to the KCRC workers that toughed out the cold temperatures both days. Thank-you to my main man/co-starter Alex Williams. Thank-you to the MOKAN racers that continue to be the life blood of this series. Thank-you to CD Craig White. Thank-you Duane Hulen for all the support, Steak Dinner facilities, and the workers. Thank-you Robert Williams for the race coordination support and Dan Ulledahl for the PHENOMINAL steak dinner Saturday night. Thank-you to everyone else I’m forgetting because my brain is still frozen. Jim Allen made the trek from Phoenix. Duane Gall came over from Colorado. Scott Hartman made the 600+ drive from TX. Mick Warning, Jim Nikodem, Jay Cappis, and Darwin Larson came west from the WIPRO series. Rick Vogelsang came west to represent the CAPS series and delivered the awesome CAPS wireless system. The CAPS system really improved the quality of the race we were able to deliver to the competitors. There were 29 registered pilots on Saturday and 21 returned to brave the 40 degree temps and stiff winds on Sunday. We flew 5 rounds each day. Saturday came down to a fly-off for 1st place between WIPRO Top Dawgs Mick Warning and Jim Nikodem. Jim proved too much to handle and took the fly-off. MOKAN racer Dan Williams brought home 3rd place. Sunday also was decided by a fly-off between Jim Allen and Duane Gall. Jim and Duane battled it out until Jim cut Pylon #3. Duane with caller Gordon McWilliams sealed the victory after numerous hard fought heats. MOKAN regular Darwin Ulledahl, Chop’s Father, took home 3rd place. The Big Kahuna for the weekend was Jim Nikodem who secured the cumulative FAST TIME trophy with a blistering 1:22.10. Well done Jim. I’m wind burnt, chilled to the bone, and ready to do it all over again. GREAT Q-500 RACING! Attached are the full results for Sat and Sun. Photos to follow later this week. ANNOUNCEMENT: The KCRC 2-day 424 Race will feature a Cranfill Style BBQ Saturday night. The cost will be $20 for a Steak dinner, fixings, and frostie beverages. The BBQ will be tended to by the experienced cook, Dan “The Chop Ulledahl. Dan can flat out cook, should be tastey. This type of event has proven to be successful at other venues like the NATS and Phoenix. We hope the pilots will stick around and enjoy a fun evening of good food, company, and a little bench racing. We’ll have more details to be announced during the Saturday morning Pilot’s meeting. Shaping up to be a great contest…

RE: RC Barnstormers fall Q500 race
Great race Carl, Gordon, and the Barnstormers. 20 registered pilots, minimal casualties (Sorry Paul, pylons are tough), and a lot of really close heats. I'm pretty blown away by the how much better everyone has gotten. Not just a couple guys, the entire field has all improved. I suppose with 6 local races a season and an open exchange of "Speed Secrets" this was bound to happen. It's just happened faster then I had figured. I had a heat with Duane Hulen and Darwin Ulledahl. Duane and I were duking it out, Duane posted a cut. I thought he was out front because of the cut, come to find out that was Darwin who took the heat. Don't back off with this crowd, they'll take you down. Anyway, nice job guys, thanks for putting on the contest. Look forward to seeing everyone at the KCRC race in 2 weeks. Ken "First Place, Fast Time, Caller" Van Tyle wanted me to announce his calling services are available for a limited one time fee... [:D]

Gordon, Looks like ~12 guys making the short skip over from KCRC. Should be be a great day of 424 racing. I believe the target is firmly on Duane's back after the smach down in Wichita. Being that he's from Show Me MO Racing, I'm sure he can handle the added pressure. If he were a flatlander, it's likely he would be hard pressed to back up such a performance. [:D]

KCRC Fall 424 Race – October 10th & 11th
KCRC Fall 424 Race – October 10th & 11th The MOKAN Racing Series is getting fired up for the fall season. Wichita, KS (424 Short Course, 428, 422) – September 19th & 20th Olathe, KS (424 Short Course) – September 26th And the season finale at KCRC: Lee’s Summit, MO (424 Short Course) – October 10th & 11th This is KCRC’s first 2-day race and will be scored, trophies will be awarded, for 2 individual one day races. Fast time will be cumulative for both Saturday and Sunday. CAPS has offered their digital system to help improve our race ($5 from your first day of racing will be donated to CAPS to show our appreciation). This system has digital displays that show laps and cuts in plain sight for the callers. This should really be nice for the participants. Jim Allen from Phoenix Arizona is coming up to get a taste of Mid-America racing. There are a number of WIPRO and CAPS racers coming out West also. Add this to our 20+ local racers and this is sure to be a well attended and hotly contested contest. Come on out, enjoy the cool fall air and some of the hottest racing anywhere. See the attached Flyer for complete details and directions to the field. Pre-registration information on the Flyer. AJ Seaholm Starter/The “Missile’s Caller

RE: AMA 424 Race - Wichita Kansas
Thank-you to Mike, Eddie, Vic and the WRCC crew. I very much enjoyed the 424 race and the GREAT flying facility. This would be an excellent location for a 428/422 race someday should our numbers support it. In the mean time, I’m having a blast flying 424 on the short course. Low cost airframes, closely matched speeds, and a similar cadence to the faster classes. The thought of pasting $200 worth of airframe and motor doesn’t seem nearly as harsh. The workers did a great job, the experience from all those weekly races showed. Thanks again, and we look forward to the September race. Keep doing what you’re doing. This is one way to keep pylon racing alive and well… PS – Vic remember to pack extra undies for the NATS, you’ll probably need them, that PBII is smoking fast.

Seaholm family will be there. KCRC had our club meeting tonight. Looks like ~6-8 making the trek. I believe a couple more from the Barnstormers are planning on it as well. Should be a great time, looking forward to it... After a deep discussion tonight, MO Racing decided only the top 5 places would be brought back to KCRC. We promise to have mercy on the inferior skilled flatlanders.

RE: KCRC 424 Pylon Race – April 25th
Thank-you to our KCRC members and the pilots that came out despite the less then favorable forecast. We had 20 registered pilots, and only lost 1 or 2 throughout the day's racing. This was very impressive to me as the wind was pretty rough at times. Spring in Mid America. Mother nature did provide us a rain free day to get in 6 rounds of hotly contested racing. After much ribbing by the Show Me Racing team, Eddie Jump came up from Wichita and took the win. Nice flying Eddie. Scott Causey came in at a close 2nd followed by KCRC member, and race coordinator, Robert Williams who rounded out the podium spots in 3rd. I managed to take Fast Time and 4th place, despite my bad case of cutitis that infected my flying in rounds 5 and 6. Paul Fawcett was the winner of the Great Planes Viper donated by Hobbico. This was Paul’s first 3-pole race and I’m sure the Viper has found a good home. Thanks for coming up Paul. I’ve attached some photos below. Full race results to follow. Look forward to seeing everyone again at the 2nd Race of the season on May 9th hosted by the Olathe Barnstomers, http://www.rcbarnstormers.org/directions.html

Gsjames, Actually my brother is the K-state grad, I went to school in TX. But you're right about the smack, you can take the pilot out of Combat, but you can't take the Combat out of the pilot... [;)] The Flatlanders have accepted the challenge and are pre-registering rapidly. Apparently, my attempts to express the futility of this effort have gone unheard. I have to give the flatlanders credit for their optimism and bravery in the face of such overwhelming odds. [:D] Keep the pre-registrations coming, I'll get them posted on the KCRC website when we crack 15.

KCRC 424 Pylon Race – April 25th
KCRC is hosting a one day sanctioned AMA 424 race on the AMA 3-pole short course April 25th in Lees Summit, MO. Last fall we drew 28 hardened racers to compete and have fun. And fun we had. This season we will drop the fly-off round and replace it with another round of competition. That’s 6 rounds of hard fought action to bring home top honors. It was reported to me last night a major invasion is planned from the Wichita area. These flatlanders are more then welcome, but should be warned they don’t stand a chance against the smooth skills and rugged good looks of the Show Me pilots of the great state of Missouri. That’s right, the bench racing has OFFICIALLY started. I’m anticipating we will we easily break the 30 pilot count at this race. Please pre-register by sending the following information by e-mail to seaholm AT teamseaholm.com: Name Phone Number E-mail Frequency Team LIMIT 2 PER FREQUENCY. SEE ATTACHED FLYER FOR MORE DETAILS. Thanks and hope to see you at KCRC.
