ORIGINAL: Walther I have a very good band saw, but it does not take the place of a good table saw!
AMEN Your orginal question asked for help with a Mini Table saw. From experience don't go with the Dremel POS. With my machining background I would go with the best Byrnes would be my only choice. RE: Airboat Design for First Build Need Help
Zap is a good product so use it. The engine manufactures tell you to place the tank behind the engine I believe level with the carb. A little lower will not hurt... here are some pictures of my set ups. RE: Airboat Design for First Build Need Help
1) Waterproof by using Finishing resin. If you heat it a little it become easier to coat but it speeds up the curing process. Gap fill using Micro Balloons found at your LHS. Mix your two part resin then add the balloons note this will also speed up the curing process. For a strong hull simple fiberglass the inside seems. 2) I do not have an article only pics. Most of mine are made from plastics or aluminum. Wood is also a perfect material. 3) I use radio box tape along with Corrision X. Simply sparay the electronics and let dry. EASY EASY EASY Just added insurance

RE: Speed
I would say water rudders are faster since air rudders are hard to control (fast or slow).

RE: Air Boat Boogie Board Steering Question
I would like too see a single air rudder with a water rudder attached to the bottom of it. A simple nut and bolt.... loose it to fold it out of the way for storage or travel.

RE: My Laser Cut Air Boat PROTOTYPE
ORIGINAL: Hijikata A little bit of extra safety never hurt anyone, also makes it a bit more of a replica, and finally it ads a bit of extra wait to the back to help counter the weight the battery was putting in the front (this is a non issue now with the relocation of the battery).
How safe do you need to make an electric airboat. The prop does not move until you hit the throttle. Throw it in and walk away and let the power flow. I have no idea why it needs one. Now, combustion engine are different. Once fired they always run and there is a risk. Once airplane guys go to prop guards I too will also follow.

RE: Old Engines, Gummed Up / Rust
To get rid of staining from cleaning........ A warm Coca Cola soaking.....No I'm not kidding it works. Just be careful, if left too long it will form sugar deposits. Then rinse, rinse, rinse, dry and reoil.

RE: Props
I believe a 10 x 6 2 blade would be a 9 x 5 3 blade. You drop one in total inches and one in pitch. I do not run three blades but I think I'm right.

RE: My Laser Cut Air Boat PROTOTYPE
You made me smile.....now it has the r's it was missing. My advice would be to change it's designed but after much thought it's what make it different. Usally we use a single sheet form the transom to the bow but like I said before your is a little different. Suggestions Materials: Balsa..Ply or combo.... Depron.... Mdf scares me. Length: 15" is to short. I see 20" to 22". I fear a short boat will do nothing but spin out on the water. Motor stand: Is the motor getting any cooling. Bow: Do away with the blunt nose.

RE: My Laser Cut Air Boat PROTOTYPE
As a Prototype it's slow. Whats the weight? I see your tabs all over the place and I think this it's a good idea as seen in the SI3's, you just took it to the extreme. I bet this would be the fastest airboat kit build in the world but I have some issues. You did not ask for advice so I won't. It's nice to see a new guy here with great resourses. Andy

RE: New project in fiberglass miss wlc-law
Not knowing the boat first hand I will give you the best starting point I can. A = At least 2" in the water. B = 3/4 to 1" Thickness of the blade 1/8.
