RE: New Large Mirage F-1 from Topmodel
Hello, I think this one is made by Spark for Top model (Jet legend). May be ingeneering by Top model, but made in China by Spark for Top Model (I think...) Why? If you look the landing gear design, the gear door hinges, the gear door cylinder, the carbone renforcement, the tyres.... a lot off small details indicate that it's a spark (jet legend) production. It's typically the design of spark/jet legend. It's a good news, because they have a big experience in jet model production... For the quality, it seems like some jet legend ARF (it's OK), so the price seems to me a little expensive.=> but, you know, the landing gear is really complicated, it's a big plane and probably exclusivity for Top model (little production) so more production cost. Best regards, Sébastien

Hello, look my homemade kit ;o) http://www.jtso.fr/la-post-combustion-sur-votre-jet.html use google translator At the beginning, I tried with the Led rubbers from HK with 24 LED , as you ... but the light isn't powerfull and too small diameter (24 or 48 or 72 ..) . ok for EDF jet, but not enough for turbine. You need high luminecens LED on the ring.Best regards, Sébastien

RE: Flyeagle F18F
Hello Andy, And 40 % of the actual price it's just the introduce price in july 2008!! FEJ makes fun of us. He want just to sell planes. Also they do much new models to attract much customer. Then it is necessary to wait more than 4-5 months for the delivery (except if you purchase a new model to them, there they support you!=> it is a circle without end). And when the plane is there, it is to the purchaser to make R& D with the risk to crash the plane (even if he isn't among the 10 first custumers...). I was one of the first customer and supporter of fly eagle in France in 2007, with F16 1/8 . It was a very good plane (copied from skymaster...) At the beginning, very well, quality, times, very well for 6 months. after the price was increased and... I had F18, No comment here, just to see all this post. And L39 1/7, well, but really too heavy (with care... they could have gained 1 to 2 kg Now, which is important for them is to produce quickly new models, with great outside quality. Inside quality (design) is as a second and the price does not have anything to see. They could much better do for almost the same price, if they took the time of serious design and test before marketing. The new models which they do (not copied from others manufacturing) suffer from many defects. And even if James is sympathetic ,… they want just to sell… to make money.... quickly. It's what i think now..... and several of their old custumer in France. Best regards, Sébastien
ORIGINAL: AndyAndrews FEJ's final offer came in tonight. 40% off a new kit. Big deal. You can keep it FEJ. I guess they feel like putting out a product that is critically flawed is ok. I hope their customer base speaks to them and lets them know that this is unacceptable. I for one will not be buying any more of their products. Andy
RE: FEJ 1/5,5 F-16 build thread
hello, If you place an order for an other plane.. your first plane is delivery quickly.. .. FEJ strategy... Best regards, Sébatsien
ORIGINAL: igniter3
ORIGINAL: ama234 I was told when I ordered my 1:5.5 F16 that it would be 6-7 weeks. I ordered it at the beginning of April and I received it last week...Well within the advertised time frame. James is a great guy and he DOES listen to your suggestions and takes care of any issues you may have. I am impressed with the amount of molded detail and its size. This thing is huge! Unfortunately, my F16 will not be RC flyable but will be a static display model for an Airforce Base operated via a light switch. The 1:5.5 L-39 I bought on the other hand was a 5 month wait but that was a PRE-ORDER and they were still developing and modifying the prototype. It was WELL worth the wait....beautiful airplane. The only thing the L39 lacks is rivet detail. Other than that it's a nice model. Les
Wow!.... you ordered your beginning April and already received last week......... James told me it take 4 weeks to make the model and 2 weeks for delivery times (Total of 6 weeks). I ordered mine in March and have not see any thing yet.... have been 2 months, I will call James to see what is going on.
RE: Flyeagle F18F
OK David. But FEJ sold is large HD pipe, as design for P180, P200 engine (between 45 -50 lbs) .... So when we buy this plane with this pipe , we can hope that this pipe is correctly design for this engine... Andy and Chistian's pipes were broken with 45 lbs engine!!!! so with respect of the FEJ specifications! The problem is not other than that! FEJ choose his price. We accept or not to pay when we have the specifications. The price is not all. Here the specifications were not respected by FEJ.. and christian had paid more (150 $) for a large pipe .. finally, it didn't resisted! I wrote to James for ask what they can do for christian's plane... I wait his answer and i post here. Best regards, Sébastien

RE: Flyeagle F18F
Hi Nuno, You are right, but it is necessary to be certain that it is a problem of the manufacturer before to post. So, Christian was only one, I did not have sufficient fact to be certain. It is necessary to take nevertheless time to check information! But FEJ (and all the FEJ F18 owner that i know) was alerted by me immediatly (with photo for they can analysis) ... and FEJ don't post information, warning ...or other on their web site. Sorry Andy, i hope that you can excuse me Regards, Sébastien
ORIGINAL: jetnuno Hi Sebastien I am one of the "10 first experienced customers" as well, but luckly I have just start building now. As I told before, I could be in Andy's or your friend "experienced" shoes and crashed by now. Just have to thank Andy once again for posting this info. I now feel like an "experienced sucker" When a plane crashes by other issue than a pilot mistake, it should be reported here. Specialy if if is suspected to be a manufacturing default. It might avoid other similar crashes. Regards Nuno
RE: Flyeagle F18F
Hello, With my FEJ F18, i had the two pipes versions, one for "small engine, (36 lbs class) and one for large engine 45 lbs class (P180-P200) and there was the same material on the both. Just the dimensions were differents (diameter of input and ouputs) I sold this plane because when i bought it, it's for a 36 lbs class engine.. and when i received it... it couldn't definitly to fly , well, with a 36 lbs engine! On the Christian Herit's F18, there were the large pipe version (HD) with a new jet cat P 180 ... and the pipe destroyed at the second flight. I think the problems are too thin, bad design (converging), and bad welding point, especially on the large version, the small version is more rigid... (small diameter) So there is no safety marge , if the quality vary between the pipes... some broke now. others will break soon... I did not post on RCU when Christian Herit crashed his F18, for not to panic everyone without knowledge. I contacted James to alert FEJ. He didn't believe me and he proposed a discount price on another F18. But Christian don't want to pay for any other Jet from Fly eagle at this time. I asked the others pilot of F18 which had flown (Olivier and Frank) and there isn't problem with their pipe at this time there. But when I saw that the same thing had arrived at Andy, that can't be a random any more. Just the fact: FEJ F18 Crashed that i know : David, Kevin, Michel, Christian, Andy (all the 10 first customers => pay for FEJ R&D) FEJ F18 Flight actually: Olivier (with a lot of mods!!), Frank, Steven Best regards, Sébastien

RE: Flyeagle F18F
Hello DJ, I've done the same as andy (too thin). i said this at James one month ago... and he doesn't happen for the F18 customers concerning the pipe, no warning, no new pipe.... Mr DJ, I'm curious, How much flights have you with jet Rc? with FEJ Jet? Where is YOUR FEJ F18 ? How many flight with? How many jets do you have flight?. Please... stop to support FEJ blindness... I Regards. Sébastien
ORIGINAL: Mr DJ CountryBoy Slow your roll and stop shooting from the hip. You cannot immediately blame FEJ for this mishap without a thorough investigation as done with all matters we face in the world. Even a crimminal is innocent until... If anyone, seasoned or not had "weld" issues with the pipe, he/she would have cried out upon taking delivery. And if he/she felt it wasn't strong enough but used it still, then the fault lies with him/her, not FEJ. Andy himself hasn't cried faul, so neither should you. BB just announced that when a pipe is burnt from a wet start, this will happen as it happened to him. Wet starts are bad; I had one with a pipe that's just used for startup; I reused it and it blew it all to hexx. If one has a wet start they should shut her down and replace the pipe immediatelythe pipe will fail. Perhaps Andy didn't know this - none of us know everything, so this does not take anything away from Andy. But the facts are what they are. If one flies with a low battery, they will lose their plane. Whether you beleive it or not, the plane will still be lost. Also, there are many who have flown their F-18 or other FEJ birds where the pipes are made the same. The pipes are strong and built for the suggested turbine, but wet starts weaken it to the point of uselessness which leads to a fatality if used afterwards. If Andy feels he needs to talk to FEJ, that's his business. And if he wishes to share with us the good and/or not so good from that, that's his business. So if and until then, please reframe from such cutthroat verbaige. FEJ is a good companywe all know this! I am an un-paid Rep respectfully speaking to all of us. And I'm not yelling at you or anyone, CountryBoy. We just need to slow our roll on matters until we know all. Hopefully, you agree. Thanks..
hello, I have the F16 1/8, the L39 1/7 and F18 1/7, lot of skymaster plane (F18, Rafale, F15), jet legend plane (T45) .. and other and i totally agree with rhklenke ... The plane are cheap (at the beginning...) but lack of test, design issue, and delivery delay are really unacceptable .. synthesis, their models are put on sale early James chen is helpful and friendly, but at the china office, this lack of seriousness and competence.
