ORIGINAL: carted00 And for those of you out there who need to buy anything RC, Scalextric or plastic models you can't go wrong with Time Tunnel in Stevenage. Very friendly, full of good advice, and they let you drive their cars out in the middle of the High Street whilst pedestrians hop out of the way to protect their ankles. I don't work for them, I'm just a grumpy old man who doesn't give out recommendations lightly.
Was that a 10% or 15% discount you just got [8|] Problem with the B4 is that it is 2wd, and a tad more fragile as it is alot more race orientated. And the DF-03 can really be upgraded, and that's so fun when things come in the mail.

RE: New car
It may be an idea to buy 2 second hand chassis's (onroader and offroader) and swap the elctronics between them. I did it for awhile, I was much happier than trying to jump and go off-road with my TT-01.

Yeah I was so close to doing a big order of parts from my TT-01, but then I thought, I hardly drive the thing, why do I need CVD's, ball diffs and all the carbon fibre parts they make for it [8|] I really should put up some more pictures of my TT-01.

www.rcmart.com I find is great for parts and upgrades, but shipping to the US can take like 3 weeks, and is more expensive on shipping. For the chassis itself, www.towerhobbies.com is great.

RE: New car
Ball bearings, aluminium drive shaft, oil filled shocks, carbon stiffner brace, CVD's, ball diffs....??? The list goes on to what you could do, look at www.rcmart.com and look for TT-01 upgrades. But Ball bearings and aluminium drive shaft are a must.

RE: New car
Buying from tower last I checked you could get one for closer to $150-$160USD but if you wait a few months a discount may come up and get it for $20 cheaper or so. But I hope you know, to drift you need an on-road car, and going over small rocks you need a off-road car. The TT-01 really won't like the rocks.

That's alright then. Also, stock it does not have "bearings". It has plastic bushings. If your upgrading, I would go for a drive shaft aswell, very cheap and great to have.

RE: Turning a TT01 into an Off-Roader
OK the TT-01 could be made a bit more off-road, you would need rally tires which you can buy from www.rcmart.com but you would also need to find longer shocks, and they TT-01 can't really be jacked up much higher anyway. Tamiya make another car called a DF-02 which has the same running gear as the TT-01, but wider and with more travel, designed for offroad. It has now been updated with the DF-03, which really is a good quality 4wd buggy. If you want to go cheap, there would be nothing wrong with the DF-02 as they are upgradable and easy to work on, but I wuold go for the DF-03 just beacuse they are newer, and come stock with parts that you will upgrade later on on the DF-02 anyway. I would try steer away from the TT-01 idea though, but too much hassel for a not as good product at the end.

For your list sounds like your after something to bash with. TT-01 all the way mate. Also, from RCmart you can get hold of some rally block style tyres that go well with a WRX or Lancer EVO body.

XXX-S, TC4, TB-02, TA-05, TT-01 (bit cheaper)?? Few more choices? All would be fun, chose what you looks nice. I would go shaft if I was you, probably a more simple design (TT-01 or TB-02) as it will break less and be easier for a person new to the hobby.

RE: Has anyone bought From Dinball on Ebay
OK I find RCmart / Dinball to have great service and fast shipping. Normally takes 2 days once money has cleared to reach Australia. Hong kong has a great shipping service, and is normally faster buying from HongKong that in Australia. People complaining about a 1 month shipping to get to them, have you ever thought that people all over the world buying FROM the USA also have to wait 1 month for your parts to reach us? You are actually very lucky to live in the US with this hobby.

Yeah mate that's just from running your diff to loose. Tighten it down hard, as hard as you can, try to strip that hex wrench, dont be a girl about it. Then back it off 1/4 a turn, no more. Just so it's not locked, you NEVER want to hear diff squeel.

Nice job. By the way your photos are good but they are to out of focus. You got the subject clear but you kinda over did the blur.
Ya i like alloy stuff, looks better and performes better. the more the better as far as that goes. ya that was my goal for these pics. i was using my macro lens. so thats the result. the part thats in focus is the part of the car i want the person to be looking at. ill take more over all in focus pics later...
I do the same too but You shouldn't over do the blur. I like your photography though. Heres an example of mine. Well, I have bought used from racers, and they were decent batteries. Were only used for 1 weekend (big event) then sold the next week for half price. I would look for matched (1.2V+) with long runtimes (430sec+).

RE: Evader Owner Warning: Diff Rebuild Instructions
This man is 100% correct. I did this once with my evader aswell. I ended up needing to buy a new diff rebuild kit to but a new nut (alluminium one over the stock plastic). I also bought CVD's. What happens is when the shock is fully compressed as the shaft moves into the outdrive, it touched slightly, and wears away at the nut. I did lay things out as you do, but I sitll follow the instructions putting most things back togeether. Took me a long time to work out wtf I did wrong.
