!4 Channel Synth Receiver will not hold frequency
Hello, I just purchased two new 14 channel sythensized receivers and it seems that one of them will not hold the frequency. I am using a 14 mz. Everytime I power up only one of the receivers seems to "remember". The other will not. I have to go through the frequency changing process everytime it is powered up to to get it to "activate". Am I missing a step or does this receiver need to be sent in or back to retail outlet I purchased it from. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

RE: 35% Yaks.. Comp-Arf or TOC-Xtreme/SD/Aviation??
The QQ yak is a dream to fly. I don't do much 3D but it absolutely flys awesome for precision flight. It is extemely light. Mine came in at 26 lbs 5 oz. With a DA100 on MTW cans it has unbelievable performance. My only other experience is with an Aeroworks 35% Yak and it was way to heavy and never did snap right for me. I fly with a young guy who has a 2.6 260 Comp ARF and it flys very fast. It seems twice as fast as my QQ Yak. On the QQ just make sure to follow the assembly instructions to a "T" and you will have a light, reliable, powerful airframe. Just my 1.5 cents!!

102 gen 4 landing gear question
I am building a Gen IV and I am wondering if the landing gear is supposed to be swept back or forward. I assumed forward but the pre-drilled holes only line up with the mount in the swept backwards position. I cannot tell from the pics on website. Help!

RE: Hyde anti vibration engine mount for YS-110
I would use the nose ring. As rwlewis said you will notice movement in the spinner which means changes in the thrust angles. You will notice this change when doing certain loops and roles. It will never trim out and it will do odd things when you are trying to modulate the throttle. That's my 2 cents!

Availibility of the Superxtra kits?
Hey John! Been a while since I have chimed in. I need another Superxtra, mine has seen better days. Any in stock if not how long out? Thanks again. Hope all is well with you and yours.

Leesburg Scheme for the new 102 Yak
Is there any way to get a Leesburg scheme in the 102 inch 100cc yak. I really like the colors on the big boy but don't want to get that big of an airframe.

Nuff said! Looks like the 8711 should be plenty. Thanks for your input gentleman. I am sure I will have plenty of questions as I get some more experience under the belt. Thanks again!!!

Single JR 8711 for 100cc Yak Rudder?
Will a single JR 8711 be enough for the rudder on a 100cc Yak? Right now I have two Futaba 9351 servos and they are a little worn. I have a new 8711 that I would like to use. I dont 3D just precision flying only. Any thoughts?

Got my first Yak
I just wanted to say that I am so pleased with my Aeroworks Yak. I just purchased a used 100cc Yak with a DA100. The gentleman let me fly it and I purchased it almost on the spot. I am new to IMAC and I look forward to competing. I cannot believe how well these planes fly. Hopefully in the next few years I can move up to a 150 cc version. Great job Aeroworks. The build quality was unreal for an ARF. This plane was about 1 year old and has only seen precision flying and it looks like it is still brand new. Thanks for a great plane Aeroworks!

RE: Taking Orders For Hanno Piston/Liner Sets
Well.... It is a hard pill for me to swallow but I have to take my name of off the list for the piston and liner. I have to sell my Hanno and pipe and my LA-1 kit due to some unfortunate circumstances. Hopefully I will be able to do this again sometime in the future. This is a great site and I hope you guys are able to get the piston and liner deal through. Thanks for the all the effort.

RE: ys 91 4 stroke for an LA-1?
Just kicking around some ideas. I have a few motors lying around but I still think the Hanno is the best fit. I got my hands on a new in the box Hanno and a Hanno pipe a few months back so I think it will be going in. I also have the YS 91AC and a YS 120AC lying around for future projects. I will have to find a good spot for the 120AC some day soon. Can't wait to get started on the LA-1. I will definitely post pics of the project. Maybe I'll do a running post of the project.

ys 91 4 stroke for an LA-1?
I might stir up the crowd with this one. Has anyone ever thought of or seen a YS 91 powered LA-1? I have seen plenty of Hanno's and YS AR powered but never heard of anyone retro-fitting a 4 stroke to one. Any one have any pics if one exists?

RE: Taking Orders For Hanno Piston/Liner Sets
As I read through this post and see all the effort and time involved I get a comforting feeling knowing that there are still alot of good people in this hobby. I want to extend my thanks to those who were involved and were able to broker this deal. Alot of it is taken for granted but this is one hobbier who is very thankful and I just wanted to say thanks for the time and effort put in by all. By the way....anyone heard from Aztec Air yet. The gentleman should be back in the US this month. I have an LA-1 kit on reserve for when he returns. My new Hanno needs a home!!!!!

RE: how to glue foam for strength
Guru101 is right. There are great tips on the 3dfoamy site. In the end it will come down to personal preference. I use a combination of glues. Foam safe CA of course and white glue. I have had good luck with both. I have heard of people using titebond wood glue as well with good results. Just be careful, glue means weight.

RE: SuperXtra Question
Sounds good coolair! I also have a 2100mah pack but mine flies much better with a 1500 mah. A little less flight time but I can really tell the difference with the weight. I use the 2100 pack when I practice slow roles and point roles and my imac aerobatic routines but I use the smaller pack for 3D. Have fun![:D]

RE: Mini Pro
Hey Coolair! I have two packs but I like the performance the best with my 1500 mah 3C electrifly pack. I am also using a Hacker 20-20L with APC 10X4.7. All up weight according to my mail scale is 17 oz with pack. This by far offers the best performance. Now I have a 2100 mah electrifly pack as well. I can definitely tell the difference. It requires a little more effort to hover. This may be partially because I am a little more nose heavy with that pack. My center of gravity is 4.25 inches back from the leading edge. That is 1.25 inches more that the recommended starting point. I run alot of expo on the elevator. Just checked and I am at 53% on the elevator, 40% on the ailerons and I run no expo on the rudder. I like an extremely sensitive rudder. I'll see if I can post some pics this weekend of my set up. (Also the plans show putting the rudder and elevator servos right after the wing. I put my down right before the horizontal stab and have about a 3 inch pushrod driving the control surfaces. I did not have to add any weight to the tail to balance out like I have had to do with other foamies. I hope this helps you out. Talk soon!

Keep us posted John! Sounds like you got at least two orders already! Had a blast with my Superxtra this weekend. It does awesome knife edge harriers and it almost hovers on it's own. You may have some new orders coming in as all the guys at the local field have 3dfoamy envy!!! Thanks again John!

RE: Paint for Pattern Planes
There are some of us who are masters with monokote (I am not one of them though!) It can almost compete with a good paint job. But I do remember salavating over some of Steve Helms' planes. If I remember he used to have a Japanese builder who did the work. They were works of art and......light. I think that is the age old dilemna. Can you use the paint to get the finish you want yet keep it light enough to perform. I personally prefer automotive paint with base coat/clear coat method and monocoat over the balsa flying surfaces.

Mini Pro
John I am so pleased with my Superxtra that I just finished that I want to replace my old worn out shock flyer with a mini-pro. I cannot access an area that allows me to purchase one. I want the SU-26. Let me know. By the way that Superextra does fly like the big birds. It is percise and wild at the same time. Just one question though. I notice that the wings do show some bend during high G manuevers. I am assuming that it is the nature of the beast since it does not have any external carbon bracing (which I love by the way). Your thoughts on that?
