RE: TRAXXAS SPARTAN ESC
thanx for the reply, so as i understand the castle esc will heat up on 6s but what about the traxxas veleniom esc? will it be trustworthy on 6s?

TRAXXAS SPARTAN ESC
i have a chance to swap my nib slash 4x4 vxl for a spartan, it dosen't have the castle esc just the original xlv 6s. was wondering what the differance is. i know thru experiance the traxxas esc is almost bulletproof in there brushless cars and trucks. i don't think i'm afraid of it but would really like to know if it changes the performance of the boat. i'll only use this boat a couple times and prolly trade it anyway like every thing else lol...thanx also i'm reading that boats overheat easily. this spartan is liquid cooled is it gonna overheat on say 3s lipos? i'm new to the boat thing and quite green...

can't go wrong with the axial wraith kit. install esc, motor, rx, tx of your choice. parts and upgrades are cheap on ebay...

RE: Axial Ridgecrest
sorry for your experiance with the ridgecrest, if i didn't build it i check every screw on it including the set screw on the pinion. i had a few bad eggs when i first got started a long time ago and it cost me money that shouldn't have been spent. axial actually imo makes great rigs. i have had 3 wraiths, 2 i built and a trail honcho. i have an xr10 coming any day now. i have never had an issue with their rigs. strip it down and assemble it then your assured everything is tight besides working on them is as fun as running them right! good luck...

RE: GMADE R1 BUILD
here it is finished, like the looks of these things. had it out for a 10 min run. good speed and plenty of torque for going over anything. imo its a much better climber than a wraith. good enjoyable kit to build except the nut and bolts that hold on the body panels! don't know what they were smoking when they came up with that design. if you got big hands like me you will swear more than once like i did lol...now its for sale, got another kit in mind...

RE: GMADE R1 BUILD
this is for jado6, after looking things over the front shocks were a very simple solution to get laid down. i mounted them on the front cross over tube and gained over an inch and got a lot more articulation! you can clearly see in the pic from where they belong to where they are now, big differance...

RE: GMADE R1 BUILD
i did the tranny, nothing fancy but plastic gears but they are beefy.(3/8 thick) the cage is built and i gotta tell ya its a pretty tough cage! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9XS5MM3bH8 started on the shocks and there is a lot of peices to these shocks. the gtransition shocks give you 2 options 1- droop setup 2- full sprung setup. i chose the sprung option just for the extra ground clearance. pix later rcu is kinda tired right now!

RE: GMADE R1 BUILD
ok i have the diffs all built. as far as i am concerned they are bulletproof! bearings at every moving joint. i like this portal axle design and can't ever imagine anything ever breaking. surprised i never seen this on any other rc, maybe their out there but i never seen one. all steel gears and quite large axle shafts...good ground clearance under the diff center cap...and yes those are metal diff covers!

GMADE R1 BUILD
i have had 3 wraiths and built 2 of them to where i liked them. a great truck but sold all of them just to do more builds. so i did some researching on the gmade and decided to build one. read a lot of reveiws and watched a lot of vids, looks like a decent rig. some say bad but more say good. i am not gonna tear it up with a brushless system so i had a new wraith esc, 27t motor and a 2.4 rx an tx all axial. keeping it simple, power will come from a 5000mah 7.4v 2c lipo for LONG runtimes...got a scheme planned for it including some powder coating and some decent colors. here is what i have to start with...be patient, i only have weekends for spare time...having trouble uploading pix...

RE: redcat trucks
your sucking air somewhere. i've had several sh motors and imo they are bulletproof and make gobs of power! pull the carb off and make sure the rubber o ring is not pinched or broke, maybe put a small bead of silicone around it to seal tight. also pull the back plate off and put a bead of silicone around the outside edge of it. try changing to new fuel line, if your sucking air it'll never run right, and just keep pissing you off. hope this helps. good luck.
