Ducted Fan Stryker has some one done it before
Hi I was hoping Some one out there has done this before.I was given a new in the white foam stryker fuse and I thought for some thing different I would mount a electric ducted fan unit on it .So I was hoping some one has done it before soo it would get me a place to get what I need. Not looking for hyper speed just something in the sport flying zone

RE: Should you get a discount if you receive a broken or damaged product.
First off if a company refunded money/sent people new parts for defective parts with out first wanting them back first ,they would go broke.I am not saying any one person/persons are dishonest but there are people out there that are and have abused the system and they have messed it up for everyone else.Soo as long as they are willing to work with you soo be it,I bought a cover for my Corvette last year it was a 5 year custom cover well in 1 year all the seams started to split wide open called them up no problem but I had to send them this one back first(I had to cover shipping to them).Besides having to go out and buy a new one at a local parts store that no way fit but in 2 weeks a new cover was at my door.Lesson learned some times things do not work out right some times they do just do your best and try to talk to them if they do not want to do things your way do not buy from said company any more it is that simple it is not fair sometimes.

RE: AVOID THESE ARF's AT ALL COST!!!!!!!!!!!!
It has been my experiance that a POS is in the eye of the beholder. It all depends on what you expect from a ARF.Some guys what a 100.00 120 size ARF to come with top grade hard ware directions a blind man could figure out and fly hands off the first time it is in the air.But guess what it is not going to happen, know this on any plane or helo etc etc you buy as an ARF,you are going to have to put some work into it to make it right and move on.I have flown Flite Craft and Lanier plastic bricks and put the biggest engine I could stuff in it and the cheepest radio gear that could do the job and fly the crap out of it and when it plows in salvage what you can and s-t can the rest.

It looks a Flite Craft model.Flew them a while ago, they were heavy and the fuse got brittle after awhile.Besdes that they were not to bad,in fact a have used a wing from a Flite Craft Cardnel and built a typical box fuse and I am still flying it .

RE: Who is into MUSCLE CARS here on RCU?
I have been in love with the sound of a heavy camed up engine pumping through a set of headers since I was old enough to own my own car. I know the newer rides have their own charm and sound but nothing but nothing beats pure American horsepower and cubic inchs.I am now 55 and still love them.I have finally been able to buy my dream car a bright red 86 L98 Corvette with bright red leather interior. With just enough engine mods so I can get good performance from pump High Test and still be able to break the tires loose from a red light when I feel like it .Every time I get it out I love to slide in a CD of some 60/70 rockand roll band and crank up the volume so it blends with the growl of the dual exhaust of my Corvette. It is then that life really is worth the race just to end up at this place.

I heard the other day AMA is offering foam wing core for their plans ,another place is McClain wing cores or McCain I am not sure about the spelling but he does advertise in RC Report in the back section .If it is a RCM plane he might have a set of plans to cut the coes.I have 4 of his planes flying now with about 4 more in kits

RE: would you do this trade?
The reason I made my comment is that no1 you never want to buy stuff that needs fixed ,put back together etc etc relieing on somebody else's word of what it needs in less you have personal knowledge of the person you are dealing with .If his stuff (only) needs those few repaires why does he not do them and then offer them to you for trade/ sale, then it is a different ball game then the trade is on more equal footing.I am not saying this guy is dishonest or any thing like that but you (asked) for a opinion. But what it all boils down to is how much do you trust your fellow man not to break it off inside of you, there is a list of fellow r/c's on this site that trusted other r/c's to be up front with a deal and got hosed.

Hanger 9 Ultra stick+Homey33????
I have a question for you guys ,I just picked up a old used H9 ultra stick the 120 size she is no beauty queen by a long shot,I allso have a homelite 33 that was converted hanging around the shop.Do you guys think this would be a good combo for a knock around gasser, not looking for 3D just a good sport flyer with out a lot of emotional investment.Soo before I strap this on the nose I would like to here what you guys think.

RE: Hangar 9 F-22 Raptor PTS
I have seen pictures of it and I think it looks good, the engine might not be my first choice but I have read that guys have taken off the weight on the front of the motor and reproped it and they run good.I guy at our field has a PTS mustang that he did that to and took off the trainer stuff the plane flies great,Soo I feel what the heck I donot need a trainer but the plane looks cool with radio etc allready got the OK from wife soo I guess there will be a new plane in my hanger for the new flying season.

RE: What Vehicle hauls you to the Field?
I use a Ford 98 WindStar bought it new but after 2 different people at different times decided to redesign it for me.After the last redesign and I got it out of the shop I decided to trade it in,the Dealer did a CarFax report on it I found out the only person it was worth any thing to is me soo I kept it it was paid for,I took out the back seats makes a perfect airplane hauler. Now I keep all my stuff in it when I need to go to the field just load up planes ,if I get home late and decide not to clean out van it is no sweat if some fuel gets on the carpet who cares. It still rides and runs good it does not look bad either as long as you donot get too close to see the uneven seams or the different shades on red and evey thing kinda works right, but hell I am not perfect by a long shot why should I expect my car to be.

I know this is kind of off the subject, but I have been wondering if anybody has heard anything about what ever happened to Val Fusco.I know he burned a lot of people I was lucky I got my money back and a Fancy owners paper for a plane that was never built .I have them framed hanging in my shop it is a warning to my self to never trust anybody and never take them at their word .It sure would be nice to hear he got finally got burned for all the people he hurt.

RE: Raiden Tech is Horrible
Just my 2 cents if the plane was nice and all there except the gear problems go buy a set of after market gear put it on and go fly ,no sense in driving up the blood presure.Heck I have gotten planes that the landing gear or tires or some piece of hardware was crap I replaced it for something better and moved on and enjoyed the plane. That is some times what you have to deal with when you fly ARF's.Solution build from kit or plans take months on end to do it, pick your own hardware get just what you want. Me I would rahter take a couple of evening put together a ARF deal with any hardware issues and go fly, it is hard enough to get time to fly as it is

1/12 scalewar bird set-up help needed
Hi I have a few of the old ASDA 1/12 scale warbird kits around mostly blue/pink foam with some fiberglass reinforceing at critical areas.I would like to get some ideas on a set up I could use. They were designed to be flown on .15 and .20 engines.I would like to use Lipo's to keep weight down.I would like to sport fly with them.I am not looking for speed demon just good pulling and decent speed.I am new to electric's ,tried Motor Calc but if it does not smell like nitro I am lost. I was allso told about using reversed Magnetic Mayham but that was as far as the help went.

I have 2 of the Corsair"s and both fly great I use them as sport flyers. My set up is KB.28 ,Hitec mini's all around.I allso found some plastic contaners at WalMart that was the right shape for the cowl. The best part about them they are stong and cheap. All in all you will not go wrong with this plane,it hand launchs good does not snap in turns etc etc.Have fun with it

RE: Who has built a GP Easy Sport 40 ARF
I got one a few years ago when it had the shelf paper covering .I flat wore out a MDS40 on it the plane got soo fuel soaked I finally had to retire it.You will not be unhappy with the plane.Just one mod I made was made mine a taildragger,do not like trike gear too hard on fire walls on not to perfect landing.Besides that she flew like a champ slows down like a trainer for landing.

RE: Apology to all ARF flyers
I agree whole heartly with the ARF's.Years ago when I started into the hobby there was no such things so after meesing up 3 Eaglet kits I finally got 1 together .I took it to my local flying field and after 2 oldtimers got done picking my plane apart and telling me how it would not fly.I went home pulled out the engine /radio and chucked whole mess in the trash and decided the hell with it all.Years went by and I never lost wanting to fly.I stoped by one day at a flying field and started to talk to a gentle man he informed me he had a used Hanger9 trainer if I had a engine /radio for it which I did.He helped me set it up and learn to fly that was 7 years ago .My flying skills got better and have long past flying a trainer but I will never forget that guy and a used ARF trainer that he started me with.Soo if a ARF will help you to learn how to enjoy the hobby then get one find someone to help you set it up right and teach you the basics then go enjoy yourself

RE: A .60 on a Four Star 40?
Why would you want to ruin a good airplane by over powering it so.A 4Star 40 flies just great with a good 2 stroke 40/46 on it,it will do any thing you want it to do and you won't be stressing the airframe .I have flown them for years with various 2stroke 40's and 46's and all have been great fliers that did just what they were supposed to do.That is my .02 worth

RE: KMP knock-off GEE BEE GAS ENGINE?
I have a KMP GEEBEE ,I put a ST 2000 with on board glow and swinging a 3 bladed prop .Take off is no sweat just point it intoo the wind give it the gas give it a touch of rudder and away it goes, it flys like it is on rails but landing have allways been touchy .You have to put it straight down on the mains and plant the tail wheel or it bounces all over the place and ends up fliping over on its back.

Lookin for a OSFS-P61
I am looking for a OSFS-P61 in good shape if any body has one for sale please let me know.It has to be this engine because of tank location/ engine area restrictions etc .It is going on a prop jet that I picked up used and that is what the plane was built around. No room for cline /perry pump behind engine and tank is on the CG so not using a pumped engine is out of the question.

you will love that plane I used to have one with a MDS.40 on it ,flew it for 3 years must have ran over 4 cases of fuel through this combo in that time.Made mine a tail dragger allso.Finaly had to retire plane covering had more patches than covering fuse was fuel soaked but she flew great all the way to the end.

RE: FliteCraft Cardinal
I have owned and flown a few of them ,they are pretty straight forward on putting them together.Use epoxy on joining wing wing was foam with a kind of plastic covering, fuses on those planes were plastic and rear control surfaces were made of foam allso . Try to stay away from Ca unless it is foam safe around the foam parts.Anybody that has put together a Arf should be able to help you out. like I said they are pretty straight forward just a bit on the heavy side like most ARFs built back then.I allso would go with a .46 engine you can allways throtle back.
