RE: Should I buy from Banana Hobby?
Stick with the Easystar if you are a beginner. The motor is mounted behind the nose and is more forgiving in a crash. Banana Hobby does have the worst customer service for any vendor. I would not recommend them. If you want to learn go to the AMA website and find a club near you. Most clubs have a training program and they will charge very little or they will not charge you for lessons. The clubs want you to get into the hobby so they are very friendly with beginners wanting to learn. That is how I started in this hobby along with a good computer simulator.

RE: Aerofly 5 preview!
I E-mailed Ikarus about Aerofly 5 and they responded and said in October they will have the USA site running. Cool

RE: E Flite Eratix 3D 25e ARF Owners Club
In my opinion just stay away from Turnigy high rated ESC's when using anything with a 4 cell and above. Its not worth losing your plane. You always have to tinker with the Turnigy and its programing and timing. I did that with mine, I programed it to their instructions with the correct peeps, tones and stick placement and it still did not work right and besides their motor was bad too. I just went with the Eflite 32 and their 60 ESC and it worked fine. It cost more but I had piece of mind.

RE: E Flite Eratix 3D 25e ARF Owners Club
The Eratix was one of my favorite planes. Mine crashed a few months ago the linkage for the elevator broke. All I need is a new fuselage and will buy one soon. A few things that I notice on this plane was that the rear stock linkage should be change to a better system and you should beef up the area where the landing gear screws in to the body. Glue extra supports around that whole area. Its a wonderful flying plane.

RE: E Flite Eratix 3D 25e ARF Owners Club
I saw that the other day. Yep that is a big big motor. It better work right for that price. I am guessing you would have a very large plane if you are using that size motor.

RE: E Flite Eratix 3D 25e ARF Owners Club
jzrf6c I don't have money to burn. My motor was completely useless and there were no usable parts. The motor was a bit larger then the Eflite 32 and is built to be used in large planes. I would never risk using this motor again on a plane the size of the Eratix. Like I said before the cost to shipping it back would almost be the cost of the motor. No reason for me to keep the piece of junk. I have a number of Turnigy motors for my small foam planes and they work fine, I just don't trust their large motors.

RE: E Flite Eratix 3D 25e ARF Owners Club
Just a note on Turnigy motors. One of them failed in my Eratix plane and I had to switch over to a Eflite 32. Lucky I was able to glide the plane in for a landing. Dealing with Hobby King is not easy since they are in China. The cost of shipping the motor back was not worth it. I hear they are opening a warehouse in the United States soon. I used a Turnigy 80 ESC and it worked fine with my Eflite 32 so the motor was the problem. But for safety I went with an Eflite 60 ESC and I even tested the Turnigy motor with the Eflite ESC and it still did not work right. I tossed the motor in the trash.

RE: AeroFly Professional Deluxe for Mac OS X 10.5 and above
Phoon, If I were you I would get Aerofly 5 from overseas. I have AFPD and l love the software. I am going to order Aerofly 5. I have tried most of the higher end simulators on the market and I think Aerofly is the best. You can not go wrong with this system. It might not provide you with all of your needs but it will come close plus the AFPD & the Areofly 5 forums will help with any questions you have. Mike has done a good job answering all your questions. Hope you buy him a drink someday.

RE: E Flite Eratix 3D 25e ARF Owners Club
I even programed the ESC cutoff threshold to medium and high and it still shut off. I might just get the Eflite 32 and there own 60 ESC at least they are in the US and if there is a problem they will take care of it. I know the cost will be more but I just want to fly my plane without this hassle. I have had good success with very small Turnigy motors with my foam planes but not this time. Thanks for responding lejongleur.

RE: E Flite Eratix 3D 25e ARF Owners Club
Hi I am having a problem with my motor set up I am using the Turnigy 42 50A 700 motor in my Eratix plane with a Turnigy 80 Plush ESC. The prop I am using is 14x7. Without the prop the motor works fine. When the prop is put on at 3/4 power I get a screeching sound and the motor shuts off. I am using a 4S 2200 battery. The motor is not rubbing on anything. Can anyone give me some help to make this run. Thanks

I tried to use the mono plug from Radio Shack and it did not work with the other Aerofly cables. I had to wait to get the correct cables from Ikarus.

Jim, I hope you can get the Katana model to work. It is by far my most favorite model to fly in the program. I have had no issues with the program crashing when I open it. I am using a Mac Tower and a DX7 for my transmitter. Dale

RE: AeroFly Professional Deluxe for Mac OS X 10.5 and above
Tower Hobby has no plans for the Aerofly5 for the Mac. I talked them a few weeks ago and I received an E-mail from them. I hope they will carry it some time in the future. They indicated it was hard to deal with Ikarus in Germany. I have tried to send Ikarus a number of E-mails from their website and I have never received a response. Ikarus makes a wonderful product but they sure make it hard for us consumers to purchase it. It is frustrating that is for sure.

RE: Aerofly 5 preview!
I just talked to Great Planes in Champaign, IL about the Aerofly 5 Mac upgrade and the gal had no knowledge of the upgrade and she will be talking to her product manager and buyer to get a status. I am hoping the Great Planes Distributor will order it. I remember when I purchased my Aerofly for the Mac the only place that was selling it was from the Sussex Model Centre in England. I sure hope I do not have to go through the hassle of ordering it through England again. Sussex were great guys to deal with but I had to order it at 1:00AM in the morning. Rajul I am using my DX7 with my simulator. I have a question will the patch 5 work fine with my existing Aerofly cables? Thanks let me know if you have that info.

RE: AeroFly Pro Deluxe Platinum for Mac OS?
Rajul, Any word if Aerofly 5 will come to the Mac. Have you seen the update for the PC. Looks to be really cool. Let me know if the guys in Europe will design it for the Mac platform. I am still flying my simulator everyday and love it but some new updates would be appreciated. I have no problems paying for a new update if they come out. Thanks again for all your help....Bart4u

I sure hope us Mac users can download Aerofly 5. Some on those new planes look very cool. Love to try out the seaplanes. So far it looks like it will only be for Windows. Does anyone have any information about the new update Aerofly 5 coming out in March? Please let us know if you have any information.

I just wanted to send a note to you Mac guys. Mike (Rajul) has been so helpful with my Aerofly. I needed a missing cord for my Spektrum box and he was able to find the correct cord for me. He went out of his way to help me and I send a big thanks to Mike for all his help. I love my Aerofly and I personally think this is the best simulator out on the market.
