brick, is this the motor that you have ? link =http://www.nitroplanes.com/al3701brmo.html if so they say 2 or 3 s battery packs, just make sure you prop it down if you use the 3 s packs so you dont go over the rated max amps. and i have to agree with walt sounds like the pack is either not charged or bad/weak so its hitting the LVC. bass

RE: futaba 2.4ghz radio users
nitro, if i decide to buy them and test them TRUST ME the testing will be done on the ground with someone holding the plane at different attitudes as you would in flying and i would keep going farther and farther away to see where control was lost. i like my planes a bit to much to due as futaba's people have said and try it out [:D] also the cost savings would add up rather fast as i would be replacing 4 rx's in smaller birds so i could put my 617's back in my bigger birds. ie.... H9 60 hellcat, H9 B-25 mitchell along with a few others. i hate having to swap out rx's to fly different planes. bassman

dig, no the park flyer one is the R6106HF the mid range as they call it is the R6106HFC here is alink to it on towers site. link= http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0093p?&C=LDK ive talked to 2 different people and e-mailed and they just say if you can keep it in a visual erea it should be good. thats why i want to hear from people who have tried it to know what the real world range is on this thing. looks like i might just have to order a couple and do some testing on my own to find out. EDIT= the park flyer R6106 says 300 meter range and when i asked about that they said that was wrong and it shouldnt list a dstance. bass

hi everyone, just a quick question to the futaba users out there, has anyone tried the new R6106HFC midrange rx's yet ? and if you have what kind of range are you getting with them ? i tried to contact futaba but all they will tell me is its a mid range rx for planes in the 50 inch class LOL trying to see if they will work with my 2 electics that i have for quick flights ie.... electrostik and my pulse xt 25 E both are 52 inch WS. any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance. bass

RE: Electric pro?
stang, well good luck with getting it set-up that way, im not much into speed when i fly so im not much help to you , but you will most definialty need a high KV motor and a better battery pack that can handle the amps you will be seeing some of the newer 30 and 40 c packs might work for you. also if you know of anyone with a watt meter see if you can get them to help, as watt meters can save your battery electric components from getting fried if your pulling more amps than they can handle. but i dont think that little plane will ever be able to get even close to those speeds as some of the guys that fly turbine jets at my field have topped out 155 mph and thats moving [:D] sorry i couldnt be more help to you . bass

RE: Electric pro?
hi stang, im far from a pro but it sounds like your pulling more amps than the battery pack can deliver with that small a prop and high KV motor. im not famaliar with that plane but you might want to try a lower kv motor (outrunner) and a bit larger prop and higher c rated battery. if i read your post right the battery pack is only a 13c with bursts to 20 c ? and is it a 2S or 3S pack ? can you post a link to the plane you have so we can get an idea of whats needed ? also is there room to swing a larger prop ? hmmm think i found it, is this the plane ?= http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=472505 if that is it a motor like this = http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLWT2&P=0 would make it fly pretty well i would thinkand you could still use your ESC and battery pack using there suggested props. ie... 7.4 volt (2S pack) want to use the 10x4.5 and on 11.1 volt pack (3S) you want the 9x4.5 . i hope i helped some. bassman

balancing a mid wing plane ?
hi all, just a quick question about balancing a midwing plane, do you balance it upside down or right side up ? i used to know but seems i lost a few brain cells and cant remember anymore. in all my years of flying i have never owned a midwing plane untill now (a H9 B-25) and realized i dont remember which way to balance it LOL. from the looks of it i would think upside down as the virtacal stabs are large on this plane and have considerable weight to them. any and all help is greatly appreciated and thanks in advance. bassman

RE: Lipos (mah) question
rascal, yes you can run a higher mah battery with out any problems and long as the plane can handle the added weight and the pack fits in the battery compartment. what you dont want to do is run to high or to low a voltage in plane to high you have a chance to burn up the electronics and let the magic smoke out :) and to low you might have enough power to keep the plne in the air. hope this helps. bassman

RE: should expo be used on 1st time trainer?
sir, your right if the student wants to take longer to learn to fly as that greatly lengthens the learning curve they learn to fly WITH expo first THEN relearn what they could have learned right from the start flying without expo and on the wing. also if they are overcontrolling the plane you can always use a bit less throw which makes a big difference for them also. me i would rather see them learn first and quicker. THEN play with the extras on the radio. just my .02 cents worth. [:D] bassman

RE: should expo be used on 1st time trainer?
hi, link to a good thread about expo= http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_9081814/tm.htm actually if your first learning to fly expo is not the best idea, you should learn to fly the plane and learn what it feels like and how it reacts and not use a crutch right away. or some time down the road you might be flying a plane for someone else and they dont have expo and all of a sudden you have a plane that seem WAY TO TWITCHY and doesnt fly right. but in all actuallity it is flying the way it should and you just never learned how to fly on the wing as they say. do yourself a favor and learn to fly the plane and play with the radios feature once youve learned to fly. bassman

juan, are you talking about the spinner, back plate and prop nut comming off or more than that closer to the engine ? if its just the spinner assembly the back plate is put on then the prop and prop nut tightened then the spinner is aligned with the prop and screwed in place. let us know what came off for sure as there is a difference between spinner and drive hub. bassman
