RCU member and jet modeler in a serious accident
David Hudson (DCM on rcu) was is a serious motorcycle accident this morning. He is in serious but stable condition right now with broken ribs, punctured lung and other injuries. The accident was caught on video at the gate to Lockheed where he works. Apparently a car pulled out in front of him. He is Harris Memorial Hospital in Ft. Worth TX. Keep him in your prayers for a complete and speedy recovery. If I hear any updates, I will post them.

A long time ago BV made a statement, "give a jet pilot a empty beer can and they can have fun with it". This thread proves him right.
ORIGINAL: aeroscale To Larry, Bob C. and all the other great members of HOTMAC......this event was a clear reminder of just what this hobby is all about. I consider it a distinct honor to have been invited to reunite with those I met at the very first one, 30 years ago! Renewing old acquaintances and making new friends was remarkable. Special thanks to Mike Kulczyk, Dawn Ellzey, Butch Sichels, Bill Kinney and others for making it happen. I can't believe just how many world problems we solved in our discussions! For those of you who haven't been and love jet modeling, put this one on next year's ''Don't Miss'' list. Thanks again, all! Rich U.
Believe me Rich, it was our pleasure seeing you again? Hope I can make it to 60th anniversary. For that one I'll probably be wearing a diaper and a bib and won't know where in the hell I am.

RE: Greater Southwest 2012 Waco Texas
What an event. Speaking on behalf of the CD Larry Garrett and the HOTMAC RC club, they want to thank all the pilots, sponsors and contributors to the event for making this event one of the best Southwest's ever. It was truly a laid back event. There were 56 registered pilots. I got home at midnight last night so right now I can't remember who all the award winners were but will post them when I can. Also thanks to the Waco club members for hosting the event and their hard work on putting on this event. They added four extra RV plugs for a total 18. They will have to replace the bearing in the electric meters as some serious electrons were used. The first three days it was 100 degrees plus but Saturday it was a cool 89 degrees. We had a lot of free giveaways at the event and the big winner was Kevin East won the Spektrum DX 18 radio. We decided that since all the donations were either given too or purchased at a greatly reduced cost that the items were to be given away, no raffle or auction involved. The club did have a raffle with the New iPad as the prize. The club had to buy it at retail cost. Nick Robinson won the iPad
