RE: Ground clearance on VsTanks
Hey Condor I saw your video of your Tiger in the snow....amazing !! Anyway, the clearance for the Sherman is a half inch and for the KV2 its about 3/8". And not only is the clearance on these 2 Tanks less than the Tiger, the way the battery compartments hang down on both Tanks, I think they would act more like snow plows. They would`nt be much good in a Winter battle.

RE: The 1/24 Vstank Series are finally getting Exciting
Thanks for posting Tim, looks like the little Tankers had a real blast. And I agree with Shenlonco, the sound effects certainly could use improving. I recently got my 4th 1/24th VSTank, the T72 and its another little gem of a Tank. Well made, nice paint, it runs well and the gun shoots great. One thing though, trying to pivot turn on carpet will cause a track (they are rubber) to come off, so just dont do it. lol Barry

RE: The 1/24 Vstank Series are finally getting Exciting
You read my mind Calvinlo. My VSTank 1/24th Sherman as well as the Late Production Tiger came with hard plastic tracks and I really like them. And if memory serves, hard plastic tracks for this KV2 are under $25 at ToyNorthbyNorthWest. Barry

RE: The 1/24 Vstank Series are finally getting Exciting
Yup, VSTank is amazing. Just look at all the great stuff that is coming out in the next 6 months or less. Very glad I found this company. Just yesterday I became the proud owner of my third VSTank the 1/24th scale airsoft KV2 which is the German Pz. 754 (R). Which makes it a Russian Tank that was captured by the Germans. Like the first 2 VSTanks I bought, this one is excellent, nice tri color camo and everything works great.....well one thing, and this is real nit picking, but these rubber tracks on the KV2 make it difficult for the Tank to turn on carpet. BUT this turning problem is only a problem when the Tank is driven slowly. If You drive this Tank fast there is no turning problem. Barry

Hey John Oh for sure, the KV2 would make a great little, but very pricey target. lol I say blast the Pantiger you bought from me, or better still, have FT over again and finish off his t34/85. lol Barry

RE: A problem of VS tank
Hi John I`m thinkin that any 1/24th scale VS Tank you buy now will have the hard plastic tracks. In the last month I bought the late production Tiger, which is one of VS older models and I also got the Sherman which is a new model.....They both came with the plastic tracks. But the Tiger track links snap together, the Shermans track links are held together with metal pins. Barry

RE: R/C Tanks in Sears Wishbook
Hey Jimster, what kinda cookie is it ? and dont say oreo, Im sick of those ! lol Was at RCTankHQ and the review of these 2 FOV RC Tanks is ready. In the video they sound and move pretty good. The Tank and Transmitter both have auto shut-off, if you dont use them they shut themselve down after about 2 minutes. These Tanks can be programmed not to take friendly fire. The proportional control is interesting....there is 5 forward and 5 reverse speeds, but one joystick operates one track. The reviewer said these Tanks are`nt meant to run on grass, but also said that if you disabled the clutch, which He said would be an easy job, these Tanks should do pretty well on rough terrain. VSTanks are great, but I think that for $79 Canadian dollars, these FOV`s deserve a shot. Barry

Hey McOden I know nuttin about electronics but when you say nothing worked but the smoker, I`m thinkin your smoker was not working either, but your main board probably fried. That is probably where the smoke came from. Anyway as I said I know nuttin, but the experts on here will get this figured out for you. Barry

RE: VStank hard tracks
Hey Warren Yup, you are correct, there is no volume adjustment on this older model VSTank 1/24th Tiger. Although, like your KV2, the VST Sherman I just got does have volume control. But unlike your KV2, this Sherman does not have working tail lights. Aside from this, which is nothing, I`m just as happy with the Sherman as I am with the Tiger. Its just another great little Tank. Everything works and works well. The only nit picking thing I can think of is that the main gun has very little up/down movement, it wont lower to a horizontal position, so when Ya shoot, you`ll be shootin high. Hey Condor11 Thanks for the help it is appreciated......You have 11 1/24th Tigers ??? Were`nt you the guy......nevermind lol Anyway being very impatient I got to the problem before I got any advice and just pried the deck off the hull. Have to say you must have had to reef pretty dam hard to get those decks off, and I`m surprised it could be done without breaking anything. Guess it just goes to show how well these Tanks are made. RE: VStank hard tracks
Thanks Tim, but there are no screws in the battery box. It just took alot of very careful prying with a very small screw driver to get the deck off the hull. Amazing how well it fits together, the 7 screws I removed are`nt even needed. On the inside its a nice neat wiring job, although the wires going to the turrett could be longer. Barry

RE: VStank hard tracks
Thanks for the memory foam offer, Tim, but I think I`ll have this noise problem solved shortly....if I could just get this little beast apart ! lol Gentlemen, I have the VSTank 1/24th scale late production Tiger, and I cant get the deck off the hull. I`ve removed the 3 screws on both sides that were above the roadwheels and the one screw that was at the front underside of the hull. So thats 7 screws I`ve taken out and this little beast seems as solidly together as ever. What am I missing ? Thanks guys ! Barry

RE: VStank hard tracks
The power and accuracy are good. Its at least as powerful and accurate as a Hengl Long and can hit a 1 foot square target @ 20 feet no problem. So where did you get the memory foam ? I hope you are`nt tearing hunks off the mattress [:D] Barry

RE: VStank hard tracks
Hey Tim Well since you must have this procedure down to a science by now....wanna do mine ? [:D] Actually I just got the very brainy idea to have a look at the spare track links I got with this VSTank Tiger, to see if I could even see the darn pins. AND THERE AINT NO PINS !! These track links all snap together !! This is terrifiic news !! This speaker muffling job should be a breeze now. And by the by, these little hard plastic Tiger Tracks look great, and when the Tiger is stationary, they even drape very nicely over the sprockets and down onto the road wheels. Ive only got about an hrs running time on this 1/24th Tiger but have had no problems running it on carpet, tile and concrete. Barry

RE: VStank hard tracks
Hey Smittyrob Sounds like your Marui is a great Tank.....It has all the good features but without this very loud and annoying sound effects I have with this 1/24th VST Tiger1. BUT this complaint is barely worth mentioning, overall I think this lil Tiger is excellent. Hey Pcsguy88 Thankyou for the info and advice, it is appreciated. Afraid I came to the same conclusion, getting at the innards of this little Tiger will be as big a pain as getting at the innards of a Heng Long Tiger1.....I`m gonna have to take the darn tracks off just to get all the screws out. And actually, I think this is gonna be worse, much worse. I`m going to have to take a teeny tiny little pin out of the track to get the track off the Tank, and then...oh the horror, the horror ! I`m gonna have to put the pins back in !!! noooooooooo!!!! lol Barry

RE: VStank hard tracks
Hey Smittyrob I was just looking at the ToyEast Websight and they carry the "Sparkling" version 1/24th scale Tanks. At the moment you have a choice between 2 Abrams and a Leopard. It sounds like these Tanks are neither IR or BB shooters. Sparkling features are flashing cannon (muzzle flash), recoiling action and sound feature and real life reloading time. I would think all these 1/24th VSTanks have headlights, but I dont know about tail lights. My Late Production Tiger 1 has the one headlight but no tail light. And in case you did`nt know, the engine sound effects and headlight only come on when the Tank is moving. Anyway, I just got this Tiger yesterday and I`m really impressed with it. It looks great, works great and runs great. I have no problem with it being non proportional and am having a riot driving it. Although in a battle situation it might be a bit of a pain as there are 19 buttons on the Transmitter. I just wish I could turn the sound effects volume down or even off. Barry .

RE: VStank hard tracks
Thanks again everyone for getting me interested in the 1/24th VSTanks. The Late Production Tiger I ordered arrived yesterday, in only 8 days. Way to go ToyEast !! This Tank is terrific !! Great paint job, great detail and everything works perfectly. It is smaller than I thought it would be though. Figured it would be about the size of a 1/16th Pzr III, but the body of this Tiger is a good 3 inches shorter than my P III. Anyway, I`m really happy with this lil Beast, so much that I orderd the VST !/24th Sherman. One thing....It says there is a completely new control for volume level on the Sherman, could someone please tell me where this is on the Tiger ? And if the Tiger does not have this, where might the completely old control be ? Barry

RE: what real tank would you buy?
Had never heard of the Landkreuzers, thanks Adolph Hamster. But I still think I`ll stick with a Pzr III. I`m sure a Pzr III would fit in my garage easily. The Landkreuzers would be a very tight fit. lol And besides, a Pzr III IMO would be much more fun to cruise around town in. lol I read up a bit on them and it said that it was too bad Germany did`nt actually build them, because it would have been such a drain on the economy it would have shortened the war. It would have taken 4 UBoat engines to move them, and they would have come equipped with rooftop swimming pool and a pub with nightly entertainment. lol Barry

RE: what real tank would you buy?
50 million for a Sherman ?? Well in that case I`m gettin 4 or 5 !! I alway thought they`d be really expensive. lol Man You could buy Idaho for that kinda money. Anyway, for some reason I think smaller would be better. A small Tank would be more fun to drive than the lumbering monsters. A Bren Gun carrier would probably be a blast to drive cept its not a Tank. So gimme a Pzr III its my fave small Tank. Barry

RE: VStank hard tracks
lol Too funny Fireman Tim Anyway you guys went and done it, you convinced me to buy a 1/24th VSTank Tiger1. After changing my mind a few hundred times I finally decided on the Forest Camo BB shooting version. And if Toy Easts shipping is as good as last time, I`ll have it in 8 days yeeehaaa! Must say I`m really impressed with the detail and paint. Probably weather it some though, dont like my Tanks to be in show room condition. Cant wait to take it for a spin and shoot some stuff ! RE: VStank hard tracks
First off, Thanks Condor ! If it was not for you I would not have found out how great the 1/24 VSTanks are. Anyway Folks, You have certainly made a believer out of me. I always thought these Tanks looked great but I had no idea they performed so well. But I have a few questions......Does VSTanks have an idea as to when the proportional system will be ready ? And would I be able to install this system in a Tank I bought tomorrow ? Is is true the airsoft in these 1/24th Tanks have twice the muzzle velocity of a HL ?? and lastly, how much running time do you get from 8 double A`s ?? These Tanks do take 8 double A`s ?? Thanks Barry

RE: Different Zimmerit question
Hey Perry There was a thread on here quite a while back that mentioned who made zimmerit but I dont remember it mentioning what the stuff was made out of. I`m pretty sure zimmerit has no anti magnetic qualities. It was just how thick it was applied that kept the mine far enough away from the steel of the tank, so that the magnet of the mine was not strong enough to hold it in place. Barry

RE: What are you going to do with your Mato Sherman
I certainly dont want to confuse the issue further lol but I was just at the Matorro Web sight, and I found what I`ve been referring to as the prototype Mato Toys M4 Sherman. You know, the one Tank Zone is advertising as a Heng Long Tank ? Well here, it`s being advertised as a, yep, you guessed it, a Matorro Tank, got it parked right beside the good ol Sturmtiger. lol AND !! They`ve even got what I`ve been referring to as the finished product Mato Toys M4 Sherman !! But surprisingly, its not being advertised as a Matorro, or a Mato Toys, or even a Heng Long. lol It`s a TORO Tank !!! I think I`ve entered the Twilight Zone lol

RE: What are you going to do with your Mato Sherman
I sent Tank Zone an email to see if they could shed some light. A gentleman from Tank Zone I`ve dealt with quite a few times responded... This M4 Sherman they`re advertising, the one that looks exactly like the Mato Toys prototype M4 Sherman, is a Heng Long. The Gentleman went on to say that Heng Long planned on doing a Sherman 2 years ago but did the Pzr III instead ( and then got sidetracked with the PzrIV, PzrIIIH, StugIII, Jagdpanther and KV1) lol and will be bringing out this Tank as well as the corrected Panther later on this year. Why this Tank looks identical to the Mato M4 prototype, he did`nt comment on.

I`m sure you`re right YHR, but I am surprised Tank Zone did`nt show pictures of the finished Sherman, not the old prototype. And I like your idea of doing a Kangaroo. If I buy 2 of these Mato Shermans, I definately will consider it.
