RE: Has the extreme Heat stopped your flying
it has been brutal here in NE Ohio. i usually like to go a couple hours before sundown, less wind, but it has been way to hot even then!

RE: I DID IT!!First solo flight, well first flight period
Trust me, I will keep you all informed. And for those hoping that I crash, there are a couple of you, I will be honest if it does happen. As long as I keep it slow and steady on the landings and don't try to fly on a windy day I should be ok. I have a spot that has plenty of room. Looking foward to getting my AMA number and going to the next club meeting in Garfield Hieghts, Cleveland area. If anyone is reading this in the NE Ohio area let me know what club you are in and good places to fly! thanks, Ben

RE: I DID IT!!First solo flight, well first flight period
I couldn't imagine trying to do it without the simulator. That takes some real guts and natural talent, or lots of extra money!! And Jester, I will pat myself on the back till my elbow hurts. I took it out again today. 3 more perfect landings.

RE: I DID IT!!First solo flight, well first flight period
Thanks for the congrats! I plan on signing up with the AMA and also joining a club here soon. I just wanted to see how riled up people would get about the not joining a club comment!

I DID IT!!First solo flight, well first flight period
I know I wasn't supposed to, but i did it. I have been playing with RealFlight 6 since December. So today, beautiful and nearly windless, i took my nexstar arf (no afs) out to a field and took off and landed 4 times. Not even a broken prop!!! So for those of you who think you have to join a club, save that money and buy another kit!!! Just get realflight and spend some time with it. And if you are worried about your plane set up, common sense is the best answer. Follow the instructions on the throws and you should be good to go!! Flying High! Ben

RE: Northeast Ohio RC Owners Please Read
Browns is over 2 hours away from me, but thanks though. I only have on road nitros now, A 4 tec 3.3 and a redcat lightning str .16. I have checked out the Medina place on the web and they seem pretty limited on what you can race. do they have a nitro short course division? i may have over looked it. where and with what have you raced?

Northeast Ohio RC Owners Please Read
Hey everybody, I am pretty new to the nitro RC world but have gotten really into it. I have searched and searched for nitro rc racing in NE Ohio and have found nothing. Anyone interested in starting a infromal RC racing club with me? I'm thinking just some cones in a open parking lot and anything goes. Electrics, nitros, buggys, truggys, trucks, on-roads, or anything with wheels, just race it!! If anyone is interested respond in this forum or feel free to e-mail me @ benbishop98@yahoo.com Thanks!!!

RE:
so i got lightning. first nitro car. all i can say is if you like to work on your car more than drive it then this is for you! what a piece of shit. but i still kinda like it. going to get either a 4 tec or a hpi rs4 next week, want to try out what is assumed to be quality before i get to frustrated and hang it up and stick to planes. any suggestions on what is better between the traxxas and hpi? also anyone else have as much "fun" with the lightning as i do?

RE:
i am new to the nitro rc world. i purchased a redcat racing lightning str on ebay and it should be here in a couple days. how does the body replacement work? can i buy almost any 1/10 body and make it fit? do most 1/10 cars have the same wheel base?

aileron hinges
i am building my first ARF. It is a Hangar 9 Piper Cub .40. I ruined 3 of the CA hinges that came with it by not knowing that there was no time to slide it tight after glue has been applied. Anyways i went to my local hobby shop and they did not have the ca hinges but had the dubro nylons. after doing some xacto knifing it is still a very tight fit. i assume i want a tight fit. so the question is, which is easier? gluing the hinges to the aileron first then slide them into the wing or visa versa. any and all advice would be great. Thanks, Ben
