RE: WALKERA 60
ORIGINAL: red_dwarf Wonder no longer. I've just stretched out the belts side-by-side, and the Walkera belt is about 4cm longer than the Align one, so sadly no chance of using the T-Rex belt on the #60.
Wonder no longer, I put an Align boom [didn't cut it shorter] and an align belt on the #60 and it's the bomb! n5157p

RE: WALKERA 60
Hey, Thought you guys would like to know I found a Hitec Optic 6 6-channel FM Tx/Spectra/Supreme Rx (ebay # 6054918535) for $179.99usd + $12.99usd ship. I emailed the seller and he gave me this Tele.# 845-368-3722 (NY-USA). He sold me a Spectra for $175usd incl. shipping. What a deal.. Also the #60 flies great on Align 315mm main blades, just get it out of ground effect (about 3 feet). DC
ORIGINAL: 60pitchat70power JD, i don't remember saying my Tx/Rx is working well .. it definitely glitches .. but since I'm only doing 1 inch hops (as soon as the dang parts come in!!!) I think I'm fine for now .. I have my eye on a DX6 .. gotta convince my conscious that it's ok to have another 2XX bucks on my VISA .. [:D] I NEED MY PARTS!! [:D]
RE: Walkera Dragonfly #36
ORIGINAL: smadadet
ORIGINAL: smadadet Does anyone know where to buy the Walkera battery/ESC connectors? I need to make adapters (or buy them) so I can use batteries that come with non Walkera type connectors. I would like both the male and female connector parts.
What do you guys do when the battery connectors don't match up? I can't find Walkera connectoers or adapters in any hobby store or on line. Even Walkera doesn't sell them on their site.
I ordered every type of connector I need from ( allelectronics.com ). They have charge (2 pin red/ m-f plugs) connectors and the original connectors that come with the #36's. You can make your adapter connectors as well. The site also has various servo pigtails in different lenghts! good luck.. DC

RE: WALKERA 60
To tighten the blades, hold the heli on it's side. The Blades (Main & Tail) should be tightened enough so as to keep them from just falling down out of straight line. And, not sooo tight it takes a hand adjustment to straighting. It blades are too tight they won't seek their own equalibrium in spin-up. If they're too loose vibration will occure as in bot cases. There is a thread in the #36 forum about blade adjustment. good luck DC
ORIGINAL: scooter_32 Hi JD, I recently purchased a Walkera 60 and have been reading your conversations with Argos about this model helicopter, and having found that the operators manaul is very deficient, I am in need of assistance. Funny how the manual shows you how to fly inverted, but not where or how to mount the battery pack! I have many questions but will try to be concise and hope you (or anyone else) can answer them: 1) One of the rear rotor blades came loose from the factory and will not tighten. Did the model come from the factory stripped or is the blade meant to be loose? How tight should the rear and main rotors be? 2) I too have experienced unexpected and severe, "glitching" by the servos. I have a standard brush motor and ESC. Is the solution to this problem to replace the receiver or the ESC or something else? 3) Both the main rotor and tail rotors seem to be off balance. Can gyro adjustments address these problems and if not how do I get the rotors balanced? 4) Where do you suggest ordering spare parts for the Dragonfly 60 (blades, brushless motors, esc's and lito batteries)? Any advise you have would be greatly appreciated!! -Scooter
RE: WALKERA 60
br I'm having problems with the chargers that came with my #60's also. After talking with the guys in HK (Hong Kong) they are sending me a new charger. The quality of the Chinese chargers sucks just like the instructions for their #36's! The instructions for the 60's are a little better. The Charger output DC voltage is running at 20.7 plus volts. The output is supposed to be 15VDC. It acts more like a quick charger and the batteries get extreamly HOT. I charge the battery for about 1.5 hours then feel for heat if it is too hot to touch unplug it for a while check the voltage with a VOM (volt ohm meter) to see about 13vdc. DC
ORIGINAL: yahell_n1nja the charger i got says that the battery is fully charged (green light is on) but i did like you said and the blades spun up after the system adjusted itself but wouldn't let me control the speed of the blades then it just started slowing down i got a feeling my charger ain't workin like it should i am out to get a new one later today it will let me control the rest of the functions but just not rotor speed (most important) the gyro was saying that the rudder servo was "out of control" and it wouldn't let me do anything with the tx i don't get this but i ain't gonna give up so easliy i will make this thing fly weather it wants me to or not! well off i go br
RE: WALKERA 60
Hey Br, Make sure the battery is fully charged. Make sure the throttle & trim are DOWN. First turn on the TX, then plug in the battery. Wait fro the Gyro to sync. Then push the RED Button to see the RED LITE on the ESC turn on. Then you should be able to enguage the thottle trim as the motor will beep and begin to spin-up. then use the regular throttl stick. These 650Mah batteries do not last long. I have three #60's so I go thru the batteries quickly. I set the main rotor pitch low so I can get good head speed. This allows the heli to be more doscile but reduces the flight time. DC
ORIGINAL: yahell_n1nja well i got my heli today and well it was spinning the blades great for a while now it won't even think about it the damn gyro just keeps blinking i had the blades spinning in 3d mode well now it won't do it in normal it takes a few minutes then it will spin them for like 3 seconds any help on this would be greatly appreiated cause i can't figure it out i did what the gyro instructions said and no luck can the motor be toast br
RE: Walkera Dragonfly #36
Hey Bob, I agree with you totally. I have 2 - #36's brushlessw/30A/2200mah Li-Po and the heli's fly great. All crashe(s) have been MY fault. It takes time to tune these birds but the flights are worth the investment in time. A TREX 450-SE costs $495 and for that I got three #36's. I've upgraded to the all metal heads and tails, carbon boom and fins. I just got the new #60's and they're even better with the metal frames. DC
ORIGINAL: FlyBob4 Nice job on the home made pitch gauge. That is what the hobby is all about. You could just buy one for 14 dollars or if you have the time, spend it making sure your heli is dialed in perfectly before you fly. I have spent endless hours setting up my heli just right and I don't get all the fuss over jumping to Trex. I have upgraded parts as they break, but if it weren't for Walkera's low RTF price, I would still be looking for the right heli. I have a Walkera 36 with an Align 430L motor and 35A ESC. I wore out the stock brushed motor practicing my hovers. I went to an all metal rotor head when I did a sideways landing and rolled over, wrecking the whole head. I added a cool paint job for fun. I worked hard at eliminating linkage slop which can be done with all the stock parts. RC Heli Mag showed me how. My giro works fine, my stock radio is cool, and my servos are perfect. Who cares if a tail servo is slow to return to neutral when the stick is in the middle, if you give it negative pitch on the stick, it snaps back like the skin on a 16 year old girls butt cheek. I got hooked on a cheep Walkera and there are so many great parts out there, as time goes by, I get better at flying, and my heli gets better with me. All of you TREX fans, please stay in the TREX forum. The Trex is a similar product that can be upgraded in a similar way, but they don't even make any electronics, so how can you keep comparing them, Bye Bye!!
RE: WALKERA 60
Hey Del, Concerning the TX MODE #1 (right throttle) To change the TX to MODE #2 (throttle on the left) there is also a thread on the Dragonfly #36 forum that explains it. In short take the back cover off, change the hardware spring & tension metal piece from right to left side. Then unplug the two center connector plugs from the main board and switch them. Lastly, move the #5 micro switch on the back of the TX to the right (on) to reverse the servo that was switched. I hope this helps. I have switched 2 #36's, the two #60's I received from HK are MODE 2, which I told the seller when I paid for the units. Dan

RE: WALKERA 60
Thought I'd jump in here and say that the quality of the #60's is a lot better than the # 36's I have been flying. I sold one of my #36's and now just want to fly the # 60's. Burshless w/ 30a ESC. I had a couple of brushless mtr's around and they work fine. I've been fly fixed wing for about 25 years and these ele. helis. are the bomb! Other than a slight crash on one of the #36's (my fault) these guys flight great. But remember to do the 6 hours of preflight befor that 5 minute terror four feet in front of you, Ha. Ha.!!! And George, could you please take your CAP off, it hurts my old eyes.

RE: Walkera Dragonfly #36
Hey, I've been flying a #36 with full CNC, and recently bought three #60's. They haven't arrived yet but I'm looking forward to getting them getting here. I plan to put brushless motors in them when I set them up. I will post some results when I can. Paying anywhere from $130us to $ 155us including ship and insurance from HK. seems an ok price. I'll be interested in the quality of the upgraded carbon parts, metal frame and such on the units! Dan C.

RE: Walkera Dragonfly #36
Just a thought! I have a Dragonfly #36 and aside from it flying pretty darn good, the main shaft is steel. I'm putting together a CNC frame that I purchased from XMSeller on ebay. My #36 is set up with brushless motor, 1500mah. as purchased off ebay. Since the purchase I've bought 2 more batteries and a charger. The batteries are 1800mah and 2200mah. It took a while to set it up out of the box (like 10 hours) making sure there was no wobble, blades balanced, pitched and tracked. You know 10 hrs of work for 10minutes of flight but it's worth it.

RE: ** WALKERA DRAGONFLY 36 *
I had the same right stick problem. Being a r/c technician since 70's I opened up the XMTR, a couple of screws later put the stick mechanism into the correct hole, bam works fine! My shipment from China was missing advertized Pitch guage + Crash kit. Seller states he will ship missing items. Heli came with 1500mah LiPo, I'm looking for a source to buy either 1800mah or 2200mah LiPo if anyone can direct me. Thanks
