RE: Pull pull help needed
What will keep your cables tighter than any thing is to have the pivot point of the control horn connection right on the hinge line and then use a servo arm that will have exactly the same width as the rudder horns. I cross or don't depending on the angle I need to get on the cables so they don't rub the fuselage at entry point.

I've use the 5" with a lightened backplate on a DA-150, the spinner is great and way cheaper. I've got a three blade on the way.

RE: spinner balancing
To dynamic balance you need to be able to work in multiple planes (not airplanes) and balance to a rpm you have selceted that is best for your part and your balancer is capeable of running at. Don't know of any cheap model balancers that will fit the bill.

This past weekend was the Polar Bear IMAC here in the North West, my first try in Sportsman. The WH had 16 flights before the contest. I finished 5th out of 11 in Sportsman and won the Seniors. The plane is flying good. and I had a lot of people stopping to tell me how good it looked.

Smart-Fly EQ-10 or 6 is great for setting up surfaces with multiple servos, make sure and get a SF fiber optic kill switch also, everything else you mentioned is the best.

RE: 41% extra
I maiden mine today and it flew really well. Not one click of anything for straight and level flight. It seems to pull left on up-lines and I'm thinking maybe a washer or extra right thrust. DA-150 on cans, pull pull with 2 - 7955's and one per elevator half and I had to use the rear wing tube to balance.

I thought I was close to flying my Extra and I picked the plane up and just broke the bottom, obviously I lifted in the wrong spot. I was supprised by how weak the bottom is. Has this been normal or am I just clumsy.

RE: Pull - Pull or Direct Connect??
Me and a buddy use that SWB rudder tray which will still work if a servo craps out. He just maidend his new 40% Cardon with rudder servos in the tail and one servo locked up causing the plane to veer left and he ended up damaging the plane upon landing. Wouldn't of happened with SWB tray and he's thinking of switching.

As my buddy said he reduced his 35% H9 Extra to a 3.5% when it went straight in with low voltage and a Spectrum brown out. I didn't have to own the radio or be flying it to see there was a problem.

I'm going to use 7955 with un-regulated li-ions at 8.4 volts full charge. Servos should have plenty of power.

RE: 41% extra
With a DA-150 and KS cannisters are most people using the rear wing tube. I'm going with pull pull and 2 servos for the rudder, 1 servo each elevator and 2 in each aileron. One receiver and 2 - 5200 li-ion batteries for flight pack and an EQ-10.

Full charge li-ion
I have read that you've said it's OK to use unregulated 7.4 battery on 7955. With a full charge my li-ion's have 8.4 volts and come down to 7.2 where I re-charge. Is that OK un-regulated on 7955's. Thanks Bill

RE: Extreme Flight 110" 100cc Yak 54 Build!
Myself and two buddies have 35% Yaks with DA-100's, one has stock mufflers, one is running KS cannisters and the other MTW cannisters. All three fly with 28 x 10 props and turn 6200 - 6400 rpm. I can't tell the difference between the sword and the Mejzlik, I have run both. There is also a 35% Extra at our field with a DA-100 and it also uses a 28 x 10 Mejzlik.
ORIGINAL: diamondave thats some wicked numbers, id say you should be able to run a 28a at least, not sure about a B, id email vess and tell them what your running and your numbers, he's been helpfull with me in the past, i am curious about other props you have tried myself, try any 27-10? i am hoping to maiden mine this coming weekend, i have a new zdz100, i am putting a 26b on it for break in, but then not sure to go with a 27-10 or try the 27b myself
My DA-100 on SD35% Yak works best with either a Mejzlik 28 - 10 or a Xoar Sword 28 - 10, when I put a Vess 28B on the noise increased to almost intolerable and the performance of the plane seem to decrease. Not as much vertical and not as quick responding. The Swords are painted and look good as well. I like the 28" prop's better than 27 inchers.

RE: DA100 or DA85 in Aviationmodels Yak 35%
I'm flying a SD-35% Yak with a DA-100 on cannisters and it's perfect. I have two buddies that were flying 33% planes, one Extra and one Sukoi, with the DA-85 and they both had problems with the 85 beating it's self to death. Several trips back to DA for repairs for each engine. Power was never the problem, that engine may have has much power as a 100, but from what I've seen they are hard on themselves. My DA-100 is the older heavier model.

There are several guys around here using tubing and small zip ties. Check FG for major smackdown tailwheel, that's the linkage he uses, works good. I've been reading your posts for a couple of years now, I don't think it's paint fumes.[sm=49_49.gif]

DD divide your mm measurement by 25.4 to get correct inches. You don't want to hang a 100CC motor more than an inch with just standoffs alone.

41% Extra
I've got a couple of question about putting one of these together. What size servo arms 1-1/4 or 1-1/2 Most likely IMAC only no 3D or very little What size rudder bell crank for pull pull and is it straight or offset and do the cables cross Will a DA-150 be plenty or should I step up for a 170 (probably going to use Grieves pipes) Thanks Bill
