RE: Going to order Great Planes' Escapade this week.
My current Escapade has an OS .70 Surpass in it and it balanced and flys great, though it is not quite as fast as when I had a Super Tiger 45 in it. You'll love this plane! bhady

RE: Airplane Cradle
Go to a garage sale and pick up an old used walker, add some one inch PVC uprights for the cradles and yor set. I picked some up cor free and one for five.bucks . They even fold for easy transport. I use one for a starting stand, my field box adds weight to keep it in place when running up the engine.

RE: Great Planes Escapade .40 ARF
Try it, you'll love it. Fly it fast or slow it down it handles great. Snap rolls are very quick, take it vertical, it will go nearly out of sight. All in all a very nice hobnset plane, one of my favorites. bhady

Wing Tip Shape
I'm working on finishing up an old Pica Cessna 182 kit I got from a friend. I'm debating whether to go with round standard shape wing tips or go to the trouble of shaping the tips to the Hoerner style. Would there be any difference in flight characteristics between the two wing tip shapes? Thanks for your suggestions. bhady

I saw your pitures and decided to make one of these for my Tower starter and the B&D 18V batteries I have for my trimmer and drill. It seems like it should spin my Saito 100 and 125 over pretty well as well the smaller 2 strokes I have. Thanks for sharing your idea and pictures. Bhady

RE: Whats the best type bit to drill through balsa blocks?
I'd try a forstner bit, or maybe use a spade bit, but since balsa is very soft I'd sandwich the balsa between two pieces of ply or scrap pine etc. Since the balsa is very soft it would tend to tear out very easily unless supported on both sides bhady.

RE: guns and laws
Ammo stored under reasonable conditions lasts a long time. I recently was given some .30-06 ammo issued during WW1 (1917 headstamped) for my cartridge collection. I just had to try a few, they fired just fine, accuracy was also good. Your 20 year old stuff should be good, though anyting to be used for defense should be fresh bhady
