RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
I just bought a Twister XTG Pro within the last month or so. It has Deans connectors when I received it. Also had a Deans to Tamiya adapter for charging batteries not running the car. I made my own Deans to Tamiya for running the car on NiMh batt's I had. Car does pretty good with NiMh or 2s Lipo. 3s Lipo make the car really hard to handle.

RE: just a quick question
Missing pullstart screw won't cause the leak, but should be replaced. Sounds like maybe you should retighten all the nuts and bolts. Get yourself some blue locktite and use it on the screws to help hold them tight for a longer period time. Go thru the entire car and remove one screw at a time, put blue locktitre on it, and reinstall snuggly. Be careful not to over tighten and strip out the hole. Remove the muffler, hold your finger over the exhuast pipe, and blow into the end with the rubber coupler. It should not leak air.

RE: just a quick question
There are two small screws that attached the exhaust header to the engine block, your manifold gasket goes between the header manifold and the engine block, so the two screws I'm talking about also hold the manifold gasket in place.

RE: Returning to hobby and undecided
Personally I like the Caldera 10e MT. It built stronger than the Volcano and holds up really well. If you're more into buggy type vehicle then the Tornado is the way to go. They're pretty tough also. Both have aluminunm upgrade parts available. I also have the Twister. It can handle 3s Lipo but it gets crazy to handle with 3s. It goes pretty good with 2s, but 3s makes it a bear to handle.

RE: just a quick question
I agree, does sounds like you've got a leak. First place I would check would be the little blue rubber coupling between the exhaust header and muffler. It shouldn't have any holes or tears in it. It should two tie-wraps, one to clampit to the header and one to clamp it to the muffler. Also check to make sure the header flange screws are tighten down.

RE: Lipo and RS10XT
The RS10XT ESC is not Lipo ready. The ESC will not provide a low voltage cut-out that is highly recommended for Lipo's.

RE: I must be twisted!
Be sure to check your slipper clutch adjustment. I just received a new Twister, rand it for about 3 minutes with a 3S lipo and melted the spur gear and slipper clutch parts down. It ran fairly good with just NiMh but the 3S lipo was just too much for the clutch with the factory adjustment.

RE: RedCat Caldera 3.0 Not Staying On When Started?
I agree with the other replies about break-in and too rich/too lean issues. One other thing to check is for a broken spring in the clutch......a broken spring will make clutch engagement eratic, and kill the motor. I had this problem on my Caldera 3.0.
