RE: Solartex verses Econocote
Byron did a lot of the early kits with wings and tail feathers of "Byro foam" which is an injected mold process, its a lot different than ordinary white foam, and they recommended Econocote for ease of dent repair, just put the iron to it and it shrinks across the dent. I would just prefer to use a Tex if possible......thanx for all the input.

Solartex verses Econocote
Building a Byron Staggerwing ,and wonder if I can use Solartex in place of Econocote as the fabric would look more scale. Is it as low temp, and is the adhesive as good on the "Byrofoam " wings. Thanx.

RE: Seawind with OS 61 two cycle?
I've had an OS-61 in my Seawind for 3 yrs now and it flys great ,probably never get to full throttle before it flys of the water ( 1/2 flaps). There is a lot less vibration than with a 4 stroke ,which is a good thing with that particular plane.

RE: KMP F-7F Tigercat
You might want to cut down the amount of air that enters the cowl, you only need a opening in front of the cylinder, the size of the piston. The exit opening has to be at least 30% larger than the inlet opening. If too much air gets in and cant get out,it heats up and the engine WILL overheat and quit. I have 2 G-23 in a Ziroli B-25 ,and 2 more in a 100 in OV-10 with similiar cowled in installations, and have never had a overheat problem. My thoughts anyway ! Good luck !
