RE: JUST SAW A NEW VXL RUN 70+
ORIGINAL: BigShrimpah yah the VXL is really amazing for a stock vehicle I have the bandit, and I take it out to the weekend drags and stomp all over 3.3 4tecs and some 18tz powered Jatos with a bone stock car. I am usually even slowly getting into the throttle. I am working on getting it setup to do WOT launches so I can beat anything out there. I even beat a .18 powered t-maxx racing him in reverse. [:D]
i am sure very fast but no way no way are you beating a 3.3 jato

why is it that every time a person wants to get into rc, the first reply is to go out and get a RTR if that is the case just tell the guy to go to toys r us. why not try a kit.

water proof??? every one wants to run lipo,so whats the big deal about being water proof. lipo and water don''t mix.they should drop the price and offer it with no motor or esc.

whats the big deal about brushless.i have a 12 turn motor and a 2 s lipo, the truck is lightning fast and wheelies like crazy.ect.ect. every one acts like brushless is the only way to have performance.

if you can find a king blackfoot on ebay this is the way to go for an all around basher.do some small upgrades like oil shocks and full bearing.throw in a traxxas 12t titan motor(under 20 bucks new) and you will have a kick a$$ basher

i find that most people sell stuff that is way way over priced.some times just a few dollars less then the current retail.if you paid 300 for a rtr set up then pounded the heck out if it you should not be asking 295 more like 100 bucks

i have a kyosho nitro truck from the mid 80's. i put it together and then never even started the motor. its been sitting in my garage for 20 something years.at the time this was a high end truck.oil shocks, metal gears, full bearings the list goes on and on.maybe i should get a new motor for it.

bringing back from the grave
ok guys and girls, this was my first rc car/truck. don't ask me how it has managed to stay around the house for 23 something years but it has. it started out as subaru brat and then was transformed into a buggy then into some kind of monster truck.after cleaning out my garage of tons of garbage i came across a old brown bag with this car inside and lots of parts. i just couldn't throw her away like some pc of trash but instead i will be restoring her to original shape.i do have alot of parts already and a few nice motors just laying around, so i should have it up and running soon. i will be posting pics of this restore from junk to shelf queen.please join me while i start the process.thanks

RE: Brushless or Brushed?
you can go on you tube and check out some rc videos. once you go brusless you will never want to go back to brushed, its not even close in performance. and by the way i have an r/c magazine thats 20 years old that has an article about brushless motors.they have been around a long time

today was the first day i realy got to see what this truck is made of. ihad the truck from early dec 07 and just couldn't get the correct motor, esc and batterie set up. first i went with a mamba sport package and a 3s lipo.this was just to much power. i then put in the stock motor , esc and nihm batterie. it was fine to drive around the house and it was just ok in the yard. what i realy wanted was to put the mamba brushless set up back into the truck and find a way to control the power. first i changed the tires to a softer compound, i needed a way to get the truck to stick. i then ordered a maxamps 2s lipo 1550mah. i set up the esc for the lowest timing advance.today i got to run the truck and was blown away by the speed and ability to hold the ground and not flip out of control. i also can wheelie on demand. this is one great set up and a great truck.

RE: Your first truck
my first truck was a tamiya black foot. that was in the mid 80's. whats scary is that i still have a black foot in my rc line up. hands down with just a few hop up parts its the best truck to bash with.i have every thing from nitro to brushless set ups but when i want some good old back yard bashing i always take out the black foot.full bearings some nice shocks a 12turn titan motor and a 2s lipo make this truck always fun.this set up was years ahead of its time. NICE WORK TAMIYA!!!!!!!!!!
