RE: Official HPI Savage Flux XS thread...
I use a hobbywing 80A esc with no problem once you remove the stock esc mount. just zip tie it down.
ORIGINAL: sparky 25
ORIGINAL: Foxy So I'm thinking of finally getting an SS kit, anything I should know?
Don't do as I did, ordered a toro 80a esc to find it won't fit in the very tight space allocated for the esc on the xs, Most 60a esc fit without issues though, Have yet to run mine as I'm waiting on the 60a esc to arrive,
RE: T-maxx Front and Rear Center CVD Steel
Yeah, the rear center shaft didn't survive a 6S brushless conversion LOL.... I ordered the 4949R's I hope they fit. In the pic, they both look the same length. The rear center shaft is a little longer on my truck. I dont need the brake hex as I'm brushless now. I locked the trans in 2nd and installed a FOC.

RE: Can't tighten nuts
loosen 1 grub screw, remove the other, put hex's on till just touching the washer tighten 1 grub, locktite the other then install it, then remove previous grub, locktite that one. Put locktite (Blue on everything) the wheel nut. DO NOT super tighten the wheel nut. Find the sweet spot and repeat for the other 3 wheels. It is a lot of work but you will get better at it as you do this a few times.

RE: Can't tighten nuts
The trick is getting both of the grub screws on the hex pretty snug and lock tite the nut.

RE: twister xb/xtg and xb/xtg pro thread
I have the XTG Pro, the update's I did were the metal diff... A MUST!! the other things i did is to use the front steering arms and c hubs from a blitz, no mods required, now i can use any wheel with a 12MM hex! I have run 5000mAh 3S lipo in this and the plastic diff lasted 30 seconds. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MhI-q42SBUY&list=UUfeYue5ovV1YczwmwCBFL6A&index=4&feature=plcp

RE: Official HPI Savage Flux XS thread...
My ESC went up in smoke. Sent it in and HPI is sending me another... In the mean time I put in my 80 Amp ESC from 1 of my Redcat trucks..... This thing is a beast!!! And it's 4S ready, I just don't know if the stock motor will handle 4S....
ORIGINAL: fastgreen350 You are one of the few lucky ones then I guess. I just have that kind of luck with ESCs I guess, I bought a sidewinder sv2 for my merv and it was defective out of the box and Castle dosent have any in stock oh well. Also I just sent out my esc and motor due to the cogging. So I will be down for a while I guess. But I was thinking of getting a sc8 or something like that, and was wondering if any of you have just replaced the esc and kept the stock motor? If so, were you happy with it, and do ou think it will last that way? Thanks in advance for the input, just stuck in what I should do.
