RE: Most Skill Required To Fly Well?
I think I'll get no argument that a heavy Top Flight Corsair would rank near the top of the list.

RE: *Evansville First Annual Rascal 110 Fly-in*
Looking forward to seeing you all here in Evansville. I flew Dave's Rascal today and those planes are awesome. Id like to see a dozen of them low pass the runway in knife edge. Maybe Dave will let me fly it again during the event. See you there. Whiskey

RE: Warbirds on the Ohio
I'm almost ready, got the scale fuse sanded down and ready for some warbird paint. You were right, that was a lot of screws holding those windows on. Thanks for making some flat head, some philips and some allen. I was getting bored taking them all out and the various head types kept it interesting. (do you hear the sarcasm?) See ya!

RE: Great Planes Edge 540T
Gas4ever, It was too windy to even attempt a harrier. Plane is built super light, but I didnt weigh it ready to go. Watch Gregs build, he is weighing everything as he goes along.

RE: Great Planes Edge 540T
Mr M. Im using the exact setup as Greg shows above. Its the same gear that the plane is advertised with. Jesztir, I'm not much of a electric guy, Ill have to measure the tires for you. They fill out the wheel pants nice and anything bigger would take some serious hacking. This thing has so much power, you only need about 3 feet to get airborn. I would forgo the bling and keep it light. Not sure about the servo question. I used the Futabas they sent us and they work great. Gas4ever, There are several folks in the club running turnigy motors with good results. Remember though that this plane already has the blind nuts installed and the firewall is really designed around that rimfire moter. I think you would have to do some hacking to make turnigy fit. Even the cowl spacing is spot on and designed around the rimfire. I'm not pushing rimfire motors, just a matter of keep it simple. Plane really does it all with the recomended setup.

RE: Great Planes Edge 540T
Didn't make it to the field Saturday, wind gusts to 25 and high temp of of 39 made the trip impractical. Maybe I'm weak! Will try again this afternoon. Bernie, shouldn't take but a few days to get plane to Fl, iy will take less time to build than ship. Im not enough of a battery head to reccomend a setup. Bill

RE: Great Planes Edge 540T
We have the 3115 servos in the plane. I left the cc bec at the factory voltage. I think its 5.1v. I hope thats ok. The weather is looking up, hope to get in the air this afternoon. Same setup as what you have.

RE: H9/Carden Yak 54
Maiden flight today on 2nd carden Yak. Graceful takeoff, climbing right turn to downwind, reduded to 1/2 T. leveled off and the canopy came off. Turned base and landed. All 6 mounting tabs came off and still screwed tightly to the fuse. Very little glue on any of them. clear pastic cracked, rear former distroyed. Guess I'll call Horizon in the AM, to get a replacement.

RE: H9/Carden Yak 54
It was a Hitec dont recall the numbers, not at home right now. Was used for 2 seasons on another 50cc plane no problems. Ranged checked OK with both rubber duck and telescopic prior to flight.

RE: H9/Carden Yak 54
Maiden flight today. Plane flew great, intial trim out was only a couple clicks here and there. Made a few turn arounds, a knife edge each way, slow roll, 4 point and a hover check that was rock solid. Turned base leg and lost all radio contact. Went into the beans, a complete loss, fuse broke in half, one wing distroyed, cowl toast. Initial tests indicate a failed reciever, it definatly does not work correctly now. Everything still properly conected, battery in good shape with good charge. Carden Yak RIP.

RE: recreate canopy
Not a bad idea. That makes a 1 step process to a plug. I had assumed I'd have to pull a mold and then a plug from that. That might just work. Thanks

recreate canopy
I am searching for a solution to recreate a canopy on a 50% airframe. The original was a 1 off and not availible. I have access to a vacume forming machine large enough to pull it from but need to build a plug. The original is damaged but is epoxied back together and is true to shape, just looks bad. How would I go about building a plug? My thoughts were to build a ply box slightly oversize and make a mold with plaster of paris, but I'm concerned the weight of the plaster will deform the original, not to mention the heat involved when that stuff sets up. Perhaps a slow progression of epoxy-glass over the top and then take that to the plaster? Any thoughts?

RE: New Giant GP Super Sportster!!!!!
40% Negative should be way more than enough. Thats assuming you are flying Futaba, JR radio you would need a positive number and neg expo would be oppisite what you need. I have mine set at -20%. Double check your throwns and your balance, you could be tail heavy too, especially with that lightweight engine on it.

RE: New Giant GP Super Sportster!!!!!
I flew it with a ST3250 and that was more than enough power. Converted to gas now with a Venem 45 from Copperhead Aviation. Haven't flown yet but its ready to go. Big engines like the ST drink alot of fuel, hense the conversion.

Revo 3.3 clutch
New to the truck world. Revo 3.3 ran pretty good after breakin, now after fast run, when I let up on the gas, it sounds like the clutch disengages and the engine revs very high and takes several seconds to come down. Any ideas? Thanks
