RE: Newbies questions - Lightning Nitro
what all comes with the 2 speed transmission when ordering it from the website? everything in the picture or just the two gears. I'm wondering if its the whole unit, gears, the case, the clutch and all, just the gears, shaft, and case????? Has anyone bought the two speed trans from redcat racing? If its the whole shebang i see no need in getting another clutch or case for it, if it comes with it already. any help would be great,,, thinking of converting this nitro into brushless though, less maintance and less money on fuel , and glow plugs.

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C.
Well the snow is coming soon, and want to get my evader BX up and running, Snow paddle style tires in rear, and Single rib HPI dune tires on front. Problem is that the front Single rib tires are wider than the stock rim width for the fronts. I know i gotta get wider front rims but will i need longer front axles From a evader STso the wider front tires wont rub when steering? Also planning on upgrading to brushless but have yet to figure out How many turns or KV rating to get. It either the Mamba Max system or the Venom Racing system? Another thing is this B2 conversion thing. Whats the cost on this? Total cost would be nice if someone knows. Thanks, Ryan Also, For the brushless,is a higher turn motor faster in top speed than lower turns? What kind of run times would a lower/Higher turn give useing a 7.2 volt 4600 NiMH pack? Thanks

RE: help with getting my car on the way need big help
Well, the first thing i'd do is get the kit you want. I'd recommend an RTR cuz that kit will have the majority of the stuff you need, thus more pricey. I'd work on getting the kit First before worrying about the motor, tires, or anything else. After you get everything you need, Charge the batteries and let er' rip!! After running the car you'll be able to tell if you want more speed/torque. For Drifting usually you aren't going as fast as regular bashing around because the wheels are spinning loosing traction. Some people to save money, use ABC tires which are really just circular piping(fit to rim size) to get the Drifting affect. Or buy some drift tires, whatever money allows. For drifting though with rubber tires, you'll usually need a Bit more Torque(To break the car Free into a slide). Drifting and Racing though Unless its a drifting Race, are two separate Races all together. For Drifting your Loosing traction, while Racing(Street/track Racing) You'll want AS MUCH traction as possible. It's all kind of Trial and error figuring out the best setup for what you want to do. Pick up, or save up for an RTR, Buy a couple diffrent sets of tires and test em out. We really cant tell you what to get, it's all up to you, all we can do is give you our Suggestions. You'll get it though, Just Pick up an RTR, and we'll help you Get it where you want.

57 Views and No Nothing. I thought people liked classic cars and new paint jobs. Does it make a difference if i used Cans, which i did. That seems to be the Hotness now i guess. All i'd like is a couple Pointers. -What Paints to use -What Mask -Tips for crisp lines -Fading -Over laying Graphics If it Sucks, let me know, If you like the colors, let me know. I'd like some info, because i'd like for people to be like,,,,,, Wow, A Cuda!! The Only Cuda's I've seems have stickers all over them, then comes along a Body with Real Molded parts. Not to many people can say they have Headlight fixtures, Bumpers, and a Hardshell at that. Idk, Let me know.

Graphite works well for me. Not even a Full size car running my evader over with both front/rear wheels did'nt break those Arms. No Lie. Only thing that broke besides the wheels was the front Stock Shock tower, A steering knuckle, and the Body. Nothing else was hurt.

yeah i noticed that after i posted, My bad. I really got to get a Led under car kit. I need one for when i bash im my yard, on the roads at night. It's to hard trying to see something going so fast while its dark out. I'm Not really interested in a flashing kit but more of a solid under glow kit for my Evader. BUT For my 71' Cuda, i'll need Head lights,Tail lights, brake and back-up lights. Strobes make me dizzy. If i were to order one of your kits,, how long would it take to get to PA?

RE: Trouble cutting body shells...
Yeah dremels are sweet, I have a Hardshell Cuda Which i used a Dremel bit that looks like a Circular saw blade attached to the end but @ 90 degrees. Just be careful not to slip else you could rip into your Finger,,,,,,Deep too. trust that. One thing while useing this bit, because it's at 90 degrees, Instead of the Pulling motion used with the exacto blade. Kind of hard to do nice ovals but this is what i do. instead of pulling a arch do it like this, Go to shake someones hand(Just the motion not actually), Now close your finger in close to your hand, Now move your wrist left, then right. See the Natural TRUE Curve. I've found useing any 90 degree bits works really well at giving Natural curves, instead of pulling a straight line into a curve if you know what i mean. Hope this helps.

RE: RC Car with Neon and Interactive LED's
Thats awesome, I was thinking of getting a LED kit just they other Night when i was running my Evader. I Didn't think led programmers could do that. I Know of Solid On, Strobe, and that about it. I Didn't know the colors could cycle like that. Two thumbs up. To sfar785, Why does it have to be a Shelf Queen? Just Cuz his kit looks more classy and stylish than the Average Basher's doesn't make it a shelf queen. I DO know what you mean about the flashing lights while driving though, Good point. Sweet rid man, and Nice Paint job! Just checked your site out and it seems you have good prices, $40 for a control module, Thats cheaper than Tower hobbies. What kind of shipping and Security do you offer? To RCLightsKit, Awesome Video and Kit, I like the Music also, What Instrument is being played, sounds kinda Chinese. What Kind of Programing/ Controller kit do you have in their( The one on your youtube Video) The Blue car? ALSO, I've been looking for just the right wing to fit on my 1/10 scale Electric Cuda and i think YOUR wing is the one I'm looking for. Where can i order that wing(Blue Car),,You know? Thanks

RE: DuraTrax Warhead Evo
Dang right its a sweet kit, I was too stuck on the warhead, i forgot about the monsoon XP. That .28 SH engine is a Beast compared to the warhead evo .27. It's like twice the size, and Torque, Has Billet Aluminum cooling head instead of a Cast aluminum like the warhead has. I was actually thinking about purchasing the .28 SH (Blue Head) for my warhead, since the .27 recently died! Only thing i don't like about the Monsoon compared to the EVO is that it doesn't have any side protection like the warhead. Would the SH .28 fit a warhead, Maybe?

RE: DuraTrax Warhead Evo
Yeah, sorry for the hater comment, it's just i own a warhead evo myself and i have done my research while having it. Your very correct about the .27 though, I hate it. It gets hotter than, well you know, and the carb tends to boil off the fuel once engine is hot. But, then again, this was my first 1/8 scale truck. You know what though, my Nitro buddy down the street has a Red Cat Racing Monsoon XP 1/8 truggy and its a Bad mofo. .28 SH motor which never gave him a problem, easy tuning. Super fast acceleration, with Tons of aluminum upgrades. Its a lot cheaper than the war head evo. I think its around 350-360 instead of 375-400 for the warhead evo. Check it out, its a really nice kit.

RE: DuraTrax Warhead Evo
It's deffinetly a tough truck for sure! I've upgraded the bell crank steering to aluminum, the main gear to steel/aluminum, and it can take a beating. I'd buy an 1/8 scale pro buggy or something. This is a really nice truck but it is a heavy kit for sure, almost 12 lbs. there deffinetly pron to an inconsistent tune on the carb though, i was always having to tune it depending on the weather. If you are going to get it def. get the aluminum steering and main gear. those are the first things needed as its a heavy truck and teeth break on the stock plastic gear like nothing. I still Love my warhead evo though, im gonna be dumping a 2.4ghz fast system in it, High torque/speed digital servos, and a Pro Model .28 turbo style engine with high rpm's. It's a Fast truck fore sure once the 2-speed trans kicks in. Plus, its the most adjustable truck made yet!! ooh yeah, don't listen to the warhead Hater, trying to discourage your dessicion to get a warhead evo. It's Just as good, if not better(And stronger) than Losi stuff. Does Losi give a unlimited replacement warranty for parts broken for the fist year,,, don't think so. If i broke a part, send it in and get a new one in a week. Parts i broke in 8 months were 2or3 shock towers(due to running it w/o the body) 2 sets of center skids(riding sideways on Street curbs flying up the block), 1 upper arm(Kid jumped in front of it), 1 plastic bell crank(Same kid) and of coarse the plastic spurs, went through 3 of them before switching to aluminum steering and spur. Sounds like alotta broken parts but not really, Upgrade steering, shock towers, and spur gear and you'll be good to go. Duratrax has awesome Customer service and Replacement warranty.

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C.
I have a Evader bx and really dislike the rear diff with the balls sliding b/w the plates. I'd like to switch to a gear diff like that in the evader ext. they sell the whole diff for under $12 on tower hobbies.com. Does anyone know if these are interchangeable going from evader bx Ball diff to evader EXT Gear diff.

RE: Car moves at idle
i have a two shoe clutch so mine cant be backwards. thats a thought though for higher shoe count. after i turn my transmiter and reciever on the carb opening is almost half way open. i tried turning the idel screw and that didnt open/close it much. i dont think its working right, but its a brand new engine. the clutch is installed correctly but the flywheel pins are alittle bent. the bell spins freely but when i start it it engauges automaticly untill i brake, then it stalls, idk, any other thoughts?

RE: Car moves at idle
Hey civicphreak, i Have the same problem and im a Newb myself. When my car turns over, the idel is on the high side and my wheels spins crazy fast, somtimes faster and faster. Even when i put it on the ground it will take off at about 10-15mph, untill i brake then it will idel for about 5-10 seconds then die. i just got done breaking in the engine and things are a bit rich. After racking my brain i took the clutch apart to find that my flywheel pins are alittle bent and the shoes are more worn then before, like there burning up instead of working properly. I Dont know what it is for shore what we need to do but i believe its either wer're running to rich or our clutches are bunk. Let me know if you figure somthing out cuz im in the same boat as you. thanks, hope we can figure this problem out. I should be ordering new shoes, and springs here shortly so i'll let ya know if that fixes this problem.

I have a colt 15 motor and need the part that holds the glow plug. Mines stripped out but cant seem to find anywhere that sells Colt Motor parts!! I sent my car to a friends to find the part, and just yesturday he told me Colt motors and parts are discontinuied. I dont know how hard he looked so here i am. It's Red in color. Yeah,, the guy i bought it from didnt even know what kind of car it was so im left playing the guesing game. Does anyone know if they are discontinued or where i might beable to find parts for one? Or know of a similiar motor that i can get parts for that'll work for my Colt.15? I really hope so cuz i dont have enough for a new engine. p.s- if i take a picture of the car, can somone tell me what it is?
