RE: Need Help!!!
I've done it for several months now with no problems. Its on a small wing that I keep close in, don't know about extended range.

RE: Nitro Junk
I received an EP Senorita with missing parts. After 3 tries on their live chat (available on their website) they sent me the missing parts. With persistence, it can work. Received no response from emails. Customer service is not great, but can be done. Barry

RE: Help With Merco .40
I finally got it running thanks to a beefier starter. It doesn't seem like a real powerhouse, but it will be perfect for the trainer I'm putting it in. Thanks for the help. Barry

RE: Help With Merco .40
Thanks for all the suggestions. The head is on correctly and its not a Rustler-Merco Metamorph. I guess I'll try a bigger starter. Would more heat before start - as with a butane torch - be advisable? Barry

Help With Merco .40
I picked up a Merco .40 at the other auction site that appears never to have been used. The pinch at the top of the stroke is so tight that my starter can not turn the engine over. No luck with hand starting either. I have tried heating the engine with a heat gun before attempting to start, but it remains to tight. Any suggestions? Barry

RE: Phoenix Sonic .25 high-wing ARF??
I fly mine with a K&B .20. Plenty of power for trainer functions. I am very impressed with the quality and covering. I plan to get a Sonic low wing when I outgrow it. You can't go wrong for the money. Barry Jacobs Nashville, TN

Rejoining Wing Halves
I had an unscheduled landing with my Lucky Star 20 trainer causing the the wing to separate where the halves were joined (I knew I shouldn't have used 5-minute epoxy!). The problem is that the plywood brace that joins the wing was broken flush with each wing half and can not be removed. How can I now rejoin the wing halves with adequate strength?

Trouble with AP .09
During it's 15th flight, my AP .09 broke its connecting rod while in flight. I had broken it in correctly and have never run it overly lean. I was using 15% nitro fuel with 3 ozs extra caster oil per gallon. The engine had given no problems until this incident. My questions are: 1) What do you think could have caused it to happen? 2) How do I remove the piston to replace the connecting rod? The piston moves freely in the cylinder but will not come out the top when the head is removed. Although not a power house, this engine has always started, idled and transitioned well and I would like to get it back into the air. I have been using it in a Hobby Shack School Boy.

Cox Product Engine Hop-Up
I have a standard .049 Cox product engine that I want to use on a glider pod. I am going to install a TD cylinder and piston. My questions are: 1. Do I need a special TD glow head or can I use a standard one? 2. Will the addition of a teflon reed valve have any effect of performance? Thanks! -Barry

Golden Bee Longevity
I have a stock Golden Bee that I have used for over 100 flights on an old Ace motor glider. I have never maintained it other than changing the glow head once. It seems to start and run as well as it ever did. My question is, just how long are these little beasts good for? I have purchased a piston reset tool but have never used it figuring that if it's not broke... Is there some way of telling when the piston rod must be reset other than it's coming through the top of the piston? Is there any other preventative maintenance I should be performing? -Barry

.09 Trainer?
I recently acquired an AP .09 engine in a trade. I would like to get started in R/C and wonder if there is a forgiving trainer for an engine of this size? I realize it would be best to choose a suitable plane first and then worry about the engine, and that a .40 size trainer would be preferable, but economics dictate that I must use what I have. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
