irvine 53 vrs os 50 ?
im looking to set up another 40 sized profile , so is the new irvine 53 (not made in england?) still a good choice or should a person concider os50 , or say the cheaper super tiger 51?????.....just looking to try something different ..i have the os 46/tower pipe , ys 63, and the saito 82, but always fall back on my mojo with the 46............if the modern irvine is still a good choice, where would i get one .....thanks ...jeff

i have planes from omp, goldberg, and accell....but my mojo is on top of tyhe heap.....i feel it is a big statement to compare a plane to a mojo.........but.........i keep my eyes open for new experiences and or planes, my next plane will be a fusion from omp, i think, but thanks for posting cedar hobbies, ive never heard of them but will now keep an eye on there products..........so this brings me to my ?.............is this cedar hobbies profile as cheap and unfriendly as some of u have stated, or is it a 115$ plane that may be worth a look, but shoulnt have been compared to the king of profiles (mojo)?

RE: YS CLUB
thanks shaunlh, ill give this a try.....sounds so simple..............i have a tach so im looking forward to trying this method,.......the ys motor is so highly talked about just wanted to try one myself, u can only read so many posts before a guy needs to form his own opinion, but the regulator adjustment is the one that scares me, at the feild when trying to adjust the ys i couldnt find a balance to make it idle, mid, full, or transition smoothly all together, ........the few flights i had i noticed this motor compares in power very closely to my saito 82.....thnx again

RE: OMP Yak54, OMP Edge, or Mojo
i own the katana gs, omp edge, and mojo, all 40 sized planes..........i like the mojo best at 3lbs 14 oz, flys very light and i will always have one,..........omp edge at close to 4 and a half lbs but flys awsome with a ys 63.i like this one also.........the katana is just under 5 lbs and doesnt harrier very well compared to the other two, but is way better than my twist, but my next plane will be the yak or maybe a badboy, hmmmm, always nice to have choices......fusion?????????

RE: Motor for Mojo .40
i second the 82, lots of power.....i just flew my mojo for its maiden flight today with a os46 with tower pipe and this plane rocks!!!! i even hit the ice fairly hard with a dumb thumb move with absolutely no damage. this bird is tuff and light, mine came in at 3lbs and 14oz .....i chose the the os46 over the 82 (i have 2, accell katana and the twist) because its a very thirsty engine, and with the 6 oz fuel tank, the flights would be very short with the saito, so i opted for the 2 stroker, it still pulls from a hover well but not with the athority the 82 is known for......just something to consider

RE: 3D plane for Saito .82
go with a profile.......i thought they were ugly until i bought a katana gs from accell (because it was cheap) and soon found its my favorite plane, my twist (with saito 82) now just collects dust, my bro with the funtana(also with 82) is currently building a profile also.....now i have 5 profiles .........a benefit of the profile is when u have mechanical difficuties all the parts are easily assesable, no parts to remove to check this or that, just the business end........and a slow pass will let u know how much fuel u have left[:D]......just my opinion............a fat plane will never power to weight as well as a profile ,my mojo weighs 3lbs 9 oz with a os46, a saito is not much heavier, ..could be a leathal combo[:D]

RE: Funtana or Twist? And which engine
call accell hobbies and get the katana 40, if a profile isnt to ugly for u, but i own the katana and the twist, my brother has 3 funtanas, but has since purchased a katana from accell after flying mine.......right now it can be had for $99......just an option but byfar my favorite 40 sized plane so far ..........4 strke power all the way, the airframe will slow down to a crawl with instant pullout, i have 2 82 saitos and 1 new ys 63 that i havent flown yet, but i do love the power of the saito , but it is very thirsty

RE: VIDEO of how to mess up your funtana!!
i know people who fly wide open all the time......its what they like.......i believe the biggest mistake this person made was in choice of plane, a good speed plane would be better for his style of flying, that is if he could land it, they will not slow down as the thick winged 3d planes

RE: what is "pattern" flying
ORIGINAL: Kweasel Pattern is just like graceful figure skating. 3D is more like hockey practice without as much violence.
now that i understand [:D]....with my ability im still a hockey player, just flailing around and every now and then i impess myself. mostly by not hitting the ground, but occationally with a move that looked pretty cool. i can see what xcead meant by bringing up your ability to a new level as when i first learned to fly my brother asked me to pick a destination or goal and fly there vrs just keeping the darn model off the ground. and thats when i started to improve. now i can hover and harrier around the feild fairly well, but to have the will power to force the plane to follow a staight line or particular "pattern" would take disapline. Now with having that said what advantages does a "pattern craft" have over my 3d profile plane? can they hover?

i need a winter project, ive have several of the omp profiles and 1 from accell hobbies but all have been arf. so which 40 sized profile would be a good 1st time kit build for a newbee builder. do i stay with omp, always been happy with thier products or try maybe a mojo, keyword being an "easy" build.
