Hey Bmad: Thanks I just figured if I could find something that holds it's settings and I don't have to re plumb it would be a good thing. Like I said, it only goes a little out of tune.[:)]

What is that carb P/N
Got out for the first time this year. That 644 carb is still the fly in the ointment. It’s not bad but does go slightly in and out of adjustment at times. Does not stall but bogs once in a while. So there is always the 257 or I hear that there is a 257 look alike that still has the primer bulb and like the 257 does not change it’s tuning by itself. What is the P/N of that carb? Keep reading where everybody ditches the 644 first time they get a chance. Engine is the WWH zen 260.

I guess it's all in the way you set it up. If ya do it their way ain't gona turn left as good as right. Put the rudder in the middle and maybe?

Gee: I was going to ask almost the same question. But only about the T-Maxx nitro. Seems like alot of bang for the buck. BUT as I look at the posts I see as many that love them as hate them. Maybe this is not a good place to ask. Ill try the general truck forum.

RE: AMSOIL what type??
Nothing wrong with Amsoil but why jump through hoops to get oil. Just visit a cycle shop or marine store and they will have plenty that will work as well. I use Honda HP-2. 7 oz to the gallon, No issues. To me there is something about only being able to get an oil over the internet. Just to many other choices out there.

Come on fess up, ya dropped the raido right? When you do a range check you only got 1" of antenna sticking out and that good for 100'[:D]

RE: increase range
No you didn't serious screw up anything. For cars at the ranges thry are ran at a little change in length won't hurt. But 2 feet?[X(] Running through a puddle the first thing that comes to mind is the receiver. Unless you spray the insides with some of that spray people use they can take a while to dry. I hope you didn't toast it using that hair dryer. Did you drop the transmitter or anything like that? How about checking the voltage at the receiver (not at the battery pack) Something else could have got wet like a connector. Failing all this you going to have to find someone with a transmitter on your channel or at least a crystal so you know it's not your transmitter. Even a local hobby shop should have a transmitter they can put on your channel to try. When I was talking about antenna length I was thinking of extream range. 1" would work at 2 feet. BTW I feel sorry that you got a problem and it's only a week old, I know the feeling, But hang in there. Rc is fun most of the time.

RE: increase range
See post #8 "what do you do with all that extra wire" From what I know about cars are made up of carbon and such so yes wrapping will have an effect. I have to ask why the need for more range. Your radio range should be 500' on the ground allready and if it not you got other issues besides antenna length.[;)]

RE: trim tabs
Tabs will keep a V from tilting in the turns. Put them 1/8" up from the bottom, no drag. With that new fast engine you might just get some chine walk at those hign speeds. I did, Trim tabs fixed it.

Buoys suck
Buoys Suck: Or somebody’s idea of a nightmare. Was out yesterday with the mono. Was running strong and fast. Tried my hand on the buoys from the sail boat guys course. Went well except for this one. Kept clipping it. Most of the time just brushing it on the side, except once. Kicked one of my rudders up to a 45 degree angle. (designed to do that). I just kept cutting it two close. Guess im not ready for prime time yet but ill get there. Lot of fun. Learned that the mono going full speed can take a full rudder turn and it only spins out in a very small circle but stays flat. (can you say Expo) next time out. Very happy with the WHH Magnum 57 Wonder if the sail boat guys are going to be pissed that I cut their buoy in half. Woops [:D]

Here is an interesting thought. How is the range of your radio when you do a range check, antenna fully down. You do do a range check don't you? Hmmmmmm [8|]

RE: increase range
Length of the antenna has to be correct. You can't just tack a hunk on and hope. But then again it's not like cars are 1/4 mile away. Guess I have to ask why you need more range.

My thoughts on the new Futaba 3PM
Just got a 3PM, got to play with it. Lot better then a basic radio, Not a 3PK by any means. But it has more bells and whistle's then I need. (using on very large gas boat) Kind of wish they would have put the gosh golly gee blue led in the display cause it dont really do anything where it is now. Only thing that is a pain is the display is so cryptic. Mostly 4 characters so for awhile your gona need the manual to bring along to figure it out. Over all for the price I give it an 8.5[;)]

RE: increase range
For the most part a wire is a wire. You chop 2" off and add 2" back on your back where you were. (Exactly measured) You could go to 1/4 wave. (exactly twice the length of what the 1/8 wave length you have now is. Problem is with a car what do you do with all that extra antenna length. Example for channel 74 surface. 75.670 MHZ 1/8 wave antenna 18.554", 1/4 wave 37.108" measured from solder connection to very tip. Nifty program for looking at antenna length. For 1/8 wave divide 1/4 wave by half. http://home.rochester.rr.com/sar/antenna.htm
