RE: Looking for some clutch help here thx....
Hey Guys sorry for not responing in a while I've been very busy wth work. Ok, so I'm still having this problem! I took the dif apart to see if something was worng there but, didn't fine a thing wrong. Let me tell you what led up to this. I was out running the baja pretty hard [:D] and then it just all of a sudden stopped the engine was still running but when I hit the throttle it just reved up. So, I took the side cover off to inspect the problem. The hex screw holding the metal gear broke causing it to come off and one of the two bearings came apart. Ok, so I'm thinking no problem I'll just replace the two bearing the plastic component (can't think of the name) that holdes the bearings and metal gear and replace the clutch as well. I get it all together and so this is where I'm at right now very very sluggish when I hit the throttle. Also, this sound real weird of a question but, there is a bell like sound coming from somewhere sometimes has any one ever hear of this? again, thanks for your help in advance!!! [:D]

I also referred to the manual as well. The truck does move forward but, not like it’ssupposed to. I have to give a lot of throttleto get it to go. Kinda like if the brakesare too tight which this is not the case on this issue. Yes, drive line movesfreely from pinion to the diff.

I even removed everything and re-installed the old clutch including hardware and still the same thing. Now I’m wondering if there could be a problem with the rear end even though the rear wheels are spinning free. But, I don't see how this could be causing it to be bogging. Do you have any other ideas lol???

RE: Looking for some clutch help here thx....
Actually, I did one on each side! Everything is new including the hardware. Is there a break-in process for a few mins in the initial stage? Does the bell need to be sciffed up a bit? I haven’t had a chance to check out what’s going yet. Rear wheels spin free as well.

Looking for some clutch help here thx....
Hey Everyone, Ok, I just replaced my clutch on my 5T which is a real one lol. Anyway, I take it out today and for some reason when I give it some throttle it was barely wanting to move and sounding like it was bogging. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advanced

RE: !1/5th Scale Onroad Racing Cincinnati, Oh.
Hey lt250dave I see in your post that ur on the westside of Cincy. I'm in lawrenceburg, In! Right next door to ya. I've been looking for anyone else around me that's running the Baja's. Looking for the good terrain other than private property . Hit me up if you want to go bashing some Baja's....
ORIGINAL: lt250dave sorry Doc. but there is very little here as far as racing is concerned. I am from the west side of cincy but i have been to nearly every hobby shop from here to Columbus to Louisville KY to Indianapolis IN. If you ever get into off road and wanna hook up to bash, my buddy and i both have Baja's and Savage's and there is some good terrain around here to play on
RE: Which one Futaba 3PKS MX vs Futaba 3PM
That's awesome thanks for the info!
ORIGINAL: speedypetey61 I dont know the exact range, but I can tell you we drag race on a 330 foot track, so sometimes we need to go 200 feet past the finish line to stop our 1/4 scales from doing 90mph+ with no brakes, so we have been a good 5-600 feet + with no glitches or problems with the 2.4 fast system from futaba....Dont try this with a spektrum...lol
RE: volcano s30
I had the same problem after only running it a few times not hard in the grass. I removed the rear diff and took it apart only to find out the gear was stripped. [:@] I contacted redcat via their support about this and they told me that it was not a good idea to run it in the grass. I replied back and said that's BS. For the cost of this truck this should not happen. So, I replaced the gear and know it just sits on the shelf.

RE: 5b vs 5t
I own both and the 5B does handle better in the turns only because it closer to the ground. The 5T is a little top heavy but has greater ground clearence. Other then a few options they are both one in the same. I prefer the 5T but still love the 5B. It's like having a wife and girl freind at the same time ! Hope this helps!

RE: 5t or 5b?? agh..
Both r awesome all depends on ur cash. I have both only cause they were great deals . But I prefer the truck because of ground clearence.
ORIGINAL: Zonk Spent the last few months contemplating the Baja buggy. Walked into the hobbyshop this morning to buy the SS Buggy but on the counter was a brand new 5T truck and man it looked so much more impressive. I spent over a hour tossing up between what I wanted.. and I couldn't make my mind up. The Buggy is nearly $200 cheaper, but the truck looks so much more ..well imposing. Just wondering what members here would buy if they had the choice, all I want it for is bashing as well. Durability is important.
